Logitech G has announced the launch of the G512 X TMR Analog/Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, a significant step forward in gaming technology. The new keyboard focuses on modularity and customization, catering specifically to players who want their gear to match their style and performance.

The keyboard could soon become obsolete, at least that’s the future outlined by a new study from the London School of Economics and Jabra. According to the report, by 2028, voice-based AI will become the dominant interface for workplace communication.

For Generation Alpha, those born after 2010, the keyboard might never even be part of the daily workflow. Instead, they’ll speak to their devices first, edit later.

Paul Sephton, global head of brand communications at Jabra, told Fortune that in the AI-powered workplace of the near future, the first draft of work will be spoken, not typed. Typing will serve only as an editing step, not a creative one.

It’s a shift the report says mirrors how humans naturally think: fast, iterative, conversational. It also opens the door for more spontaneous creativity. Voice input offers a clear productivity edge for working parents and multitaskers, enabling hands-free interactions on the go.

But not everyone is buying into the hype. Experts warn that this voice-first future might introduce new problems. Management professor Fabrice Cavarretta from ESSEC Business School said that while speaking may become the dominant input method, it won’t replace written communication. Voice messages lack skim-ability, keyword search, and clarity. They are harder to archive and slower to process.

Bertrand Audrin from EHL Hospitality Business School added that unless voice notes are transcribed, accountability suffers. Voice lacks permanence and can become a burden in workplaces that rely on traceable decisions and clean communication logs. Editing raw speech into coherent text isn’t seamless either. It demands cleanup, especially for non-native speakers or informal tone corrections.

So while the desk-bound keyboard might be on the decline, it won’t vanish without a fight. The future may be spoken, but it will still be written, transcribed by AI from what we say.

These keyboards feature Razer’s Analog Optical Switches Gen-2 combined with True 8000 Hz HyperPolling Technology. Together, they deliver 11 percent faster performance than the nearest competitor with a latency of just 0.58 milliseconds. Every key press registers almost instantly, which is crucial for fast-paced esports play.

Players can adjust the actuation range from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm to suit their preference. Rapid Trigger Mode allows quick resets for repeated key actions, while Razer Snap Tap helps switch directions instantly without releasing the first key. The switches are factory-tuned for 0.1 mm accuracy, offering 2.5 times better precision than competing models, and are rated for 100 million keystrokes.

Razer worked with Counter-Strike legend Nikola “NiKo” Kovač to develop the Huntsman V3 Pro 8KHz. NiKo collaborated with Razer engineers to refine the keyboard’s feel, latency, and responsiveness. “The 8KHz model takes things to another level,” said NiKo. “I visited Razer’s headquarters in Singapore to test and help fine-tune the performance for pro-level gameplay.”

Both versions have a durable 5052 aluminum alloy top plate, sound-dampening foam, pre-lubricated stabilizers, and textured doubleshot PBT keycaps. They also come with a magnetic leatherette wrist rest for comfort during long sessions.

Each model includes a clickable digital dial and dedicated control buttons for media, macros, and quick adjustments to actuation height or Rapid Trigger sensitivity. An onboard LED display provides instant feedback, and all settings are stored directly on the keyboard, removing the need for extra software.

I’ve used a wide range of mechanical keyboards over the years, from entry-level gaming boards to heavily modded customs with soft gasket mounts and exotic switch lubes. The Varmilo Minilo 75 HE doesn’t aim to be part of either extreme. Instead, it tries to balance performance and utility in a clean 75% form factor using magnetic Hall effect switches. After using it daily for work and gaming over the past few weeks, I’ve found it capable in most areas, though not without its quirks.

What’s in the Box?

The Minilo 75 HE ships with most of what you’d expect: a USB-A to USB-C braided cable, a switch puller cum keycap puller, and extra keycaps for Mac layouts. There’s also a dust cover included. It’s a well-rounded set that doesn’t feel overly generous or too sparse.

Design and Build Quality

The first thing I noticed when unboxing the Minilo 75 HE was its size. It’s compact, but not cramped. The 75% layout manages to retain all the necessary keys without feeling too dense or too spread out. I’ve used other 75% boards that try to save space by aggressively shrinking the gap between clusters, but here, the spacing feels balanced. My fingers landed where I expected them to, even without looking.

I went with the Black version, which combines a dark plastic top shell with a subtle gunmetal grey inlay that frames the keyboard. It’s a simple visual, but it doesn’t feel cheap. The plastic has a smooth matte finish that resists fingerprints reasonably well, though the edges may pick up oil over time. There’s a soft Varmilo logo up front that glows with white backlight. Thankfully, it’s dim enough not to be distracting. I would’ve preferred no branding at all, but at least it doesn’t clash with the rest of the design.

The keyboard uses a tray mount structure with an aluminum plate inside, and that choice clearly influences both the feel and the acoustics. There’s no flex in the middle when typing, even under heavier presses. When I pick it up and try to twist the case, there’s a tiny bit of creaking from the plastic shell, but I noticed nothing during normal use.

The typing angle is preset but comfortable. The case has a gentle slope, sitting 37mm tall at the back and tapering down smoothly toward the front. There’s enough front height to give your wrists a natural drop, even without a wrist rest. While it includes two-stage adjustable feet, I did end up using them for a slightly steeper angle, though the default position was already quite usable.

Underneath, the rubber feet are wide and provide a decent grip on my desk. I didn’t experience any wobble, even during intense typing or gaming sessions. The overall weight of 0.85kg (about 1.87 pounds) is light enough to move around with one hand but heavy enough to keep it planted.

This isn’t the kind of keyboard you show off for flashy aesthetics or exotic case materials. But if you’re someone who values structure, consistency, and acoustic clarity without excessive modding, the build quality here feels intentional in a way that’s easy to appreciate over time.

Connectivity

The Minilo 75 HE is wired-only, which might be a dealbreaker for some. I usually prefer wireless or Bluetooth options for a cleaner desk and multi-device workflow, but this board is clearly focused on performance. The 8000Hz polling rate and 0.2ms latency wouldn’t be feasible wirelessly.

The USB-C port is on the top-left, slightly recessed. The keyboard worked out of the box on both Windows and macOS, and the included Mac keycaps were handy. I frequently switch between platforms, and it was nice not having to remap or tweak too much.

Switches and Features

I chose the Magnetic White switch variant for my Minilo 75 HE. It’s positioned as the more cost-effective option in Varmilo’s lineup of Hall effect linear switches.

Unlike traditional mechanical switches that rely on metal leaf contacts, these switches use magnetic fields and Hall sensors to detect movement. That means there’s no physical actuation point in the usual sense. Instead, the switch responds to the magnet’s proximity to the sensor. This design allows for adjustable actuation points and unlocks features like Rapid Trigger and Dynamic Keystroke (DKS), which I’ll get into in a moment.

The Magnetic White switches themselves are linear and smooth out of the box. They require around 40 grams of force to actuate and top out at 60 grams at the bottom. The actuation range is wide, from 0.3mm all the way to 3.8mm. I spent some time fine-tuning mine to register slightly earlier than average, around 1.2mm. It made typing feel snappier without being overly sensitive. There’s no scratchiness in travel, and I didn’t notice any wobble on the stem either.

Varmilo also offers other switch choices like the Gateron Magnetic Jade Pro and TTC King of Magnetic RGB, which offer even better actuation points and appear better suited for users who prioritize sound and feel. The White switches I’ve been using have held up well so far, and with a rated lifespan of 100 million keystrokes, durability hasn’t been a concern.

The keyboard offers some regular features commonly found on Hall Effect boards, like full N-key rollover and anti-ghosting. I never had issues with missed inputs, even during fast-paced gameplay.

Rapid Trigger was more noticeable. It resets the key as soon as I lift my finger, which made movement in games feel snappier. It’s subtle but effective, especially for fast games.

Dynamic Keystroke is more niche. I mapped different actions based on press depth, walk on a light press, run on a full one and even set up a few macros. It worked, but I didn’t stick with it for long.

SOCD cleaning is also built in, useful for fighting games with opposing directional inputs. I didn’t test it much, but it’s good to have.

Performance

Once I tuned the actuation and enabled Rapid Trigger on WASD and a few action keys, the board came alive. I’m not a pro gamer, but I play a lot of FPS and other games, and this board felt faster and more precise than anything I’d used recently.

That speed is likely thanks to the polling rate and low latency. I couldn’t measure exact figures, but the feel was undeniable, no input lag, no delays, just fast, accurate response.

The software includes preconfigured gaming presets like Valorant, so you can jump in without needing to fine-tune settings right away. In Valorant, I had better strafing control. In sports games like FIFA or NBA 2K, keystrokes felt responsive and predictable, especially during rapid directional shifts or fast-paced gameplay. For typing, the consistency made long writing sessions comfortable. No fatigue, no surprises.

What helped the most was how confidently the board handled under pressure. Even during intense gameplay, it stayed silent, tight, and predictable. The typing feel was solid. It didn’t have the soft bounce of a gasket mount, but it didn’t need to. It felt grounded and stable.

Software

Varmilo’s HE Driver software strikes a good balance. Installation was easy, and it recognized the board instantly. The dashboard shows a live layout and real-time actuation depths.

Tuning actuation is simple, click a key, slide a marker, and you’re done. The settings are saved onboard, so they persist even when switching devices.

That said, this isn’t a keyboard that’s built for everyone. If you’re looking for wireless flexibility, Bluetooth support, or a broader range of compatible switch types, this HE model isn’t going to tick those boxes. RGB lighting is present, but it’s subtle and not a central feature.

However, if what you need is a high-performance, low-latency keyboard that prioritizes responsiveness and customization, especially for competitive gaming, the Minilo 75 HE makes a strong case. It’s not flashy, and it doesn’t try to be everything at once, but what it does, it does well.

For those who want a more well-rounded option with wireless and Bluetooth support, the standard Minilo 75 (non-HE version) is still available. That model trades out some of the extreme responsiveness of magnetic switches for broader usability across devices. But this HE variant? It’s clearly geared toward serious gamers or performance-focused users who are ready to take full advantage of software-based tuning and ultra-fast inputs.

The Feker Alice 98 Pro is a keyboard that caught my attention due to its ergonomic design and versatile features. As someone who spends a lot of time typing, I was curious about the Alice layout and the promises of comfort, customization, and durability. After using this keyboard for a few weeks, here’s my take on it.

Unboxing and First Impressions

The keyboard arrived in premium packaging that felt sturdy and protective. Inside the box, I found everything I needed: the keyboard, a USB-C cable, keycap and switch pullers, two spare switches, an instruction manual (in both English and Chinese), and a wrist rest designed to complement the keyboard. The first impression was solid, everything looked well-built and thoughtfully designed.

The keyboard itself has a split Alice layout with a 98% arrangement, including a number pad, which immediately stood out. Its frame is made of ABS plastic with a matte finish. While the finish feels good to the touch, it does tend to attract dust, which might bother some users. At 1.17 kg, the keyboard has a substantial feel without being overly heavy.

Build Quality and Design

The case is sturdy, and the overall build quality is impressive for a keyboard in this price range. It uses a gasket-mounted structure with multiple layers of padding, including Poron foam and silicone, which contribute to a soft typing feel and decent acoustics.

The keyboard also features a polycarbonate plate and south-facing RGB LEDs with 21 lighting effects. The RGB lighting is bright and vivid, but I did notice flickering on the left side of my unit. This seems to be a defect specific to my unit, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Additionally, the keyboard comes with adjustable feet that offer three distinct height settings, allowing you to customize the keyboard’s angle to your preference.

There are two USB-C ports on the back, which adds versatility in terms of connectivity. The switches for toggling between Windows/Mac modes and the three connection modes (wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4GHz wireless) are functional but felt a bit stiff to operate. While it’s not a major issue, smoother switches would have been a welcome improvement.

Connectivity and Battery Life

The three-mode connectivity is a highlight of the Feker Alice 98 Pro. Switching between wired, Bluetooth 5.0, and 2.4GHz wireless modes is seamless once you get the hang of the stiff toggle switches. The keyboard supports both Mac and Windows systems, and I had no trouble pairing it with multiple devices.

It also comes with a huge 8,000mAh battery. Feker claims up to 30 days of battery life, and while I haven’t had the chance to test it for that long, I’ve been using it for over a week with the RGB lighting on, and it’s still going strong. This level of battery performance is impressive, especially for a keyboard with RGB lighting.

Typing Experience

This was my first time using an Alice layout, and I’ll admit that the transition wasn’t as smooth as I hoped. It took me over a week to get comfortable typing on this layout. However, once I adjusted, I found the design to be quite ergonomic.

The 3° arch shape in the split layout aligns well with the natural position of the hands, reducing strain on the fingers and wrists. Using the wrist rest enhanced the overall comfort, especially during long typing sessions.

The keyboard uses Flower Switch switches, which were pre-installed in my unit. They are linear switches with a smooth keystroke and a very sweet sound profile. The lubed stabilizers were a nice touch, ensuring that larger keys like the spacebar and enter key didn’t feel or sound rattly.

Customizability

The keyboard is QMK and VIA compatible, allowing extensive customization. I mapped a few macros and remapped some keys to suit my workflow, and the process was straightforward. The hot-swappable PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches, making it easy to experiment with different switches without any soldering.

Final Thoughts

At $119.99 for the three-mode version, the Feker Alice 98 Pro offers excellent value for those looking to try an Alice layout. The ergonomic design, robust connectivity options, and extensive customizability make it a compelling choice. However, the stiff toggles and dust-prone finish may detract from the experience for some.

If you’re willing to spend some time getting used to the layout and don’t mind minor quirks, the Alice 98 Pro is a solid ergonomic keyboard that combines functionality and comfort effectively. For me, it was worth the investment, but it’s not without its caveats.

It’s available in two variants: Performance and Professional, with slightly different features and price points.

I got the Performance version in Ano-Black, which features Gateron Magnetic White Pro switches. After using it extensively, I’ve noticed a few standout features as well as some drawbacks that may affect whether this is the right choice for everyone. Here’s my full breakdown.

What’s in the Box

The Magger 68 HE arrived in a straightforward box with a few essentials. Inside, I found the keyboard, a USB-C cable, a combined keycap and switch puller and one extra switch. The cable, while sturdy and braided, is only 1 meter long, which might feel restrictive for some users.

Design and Build Quality

The first thing I noticed was the quality of the build. The keyboard has an anodized aluminum case, which not only gives it a premium feel but also adds durability and heft (1.2 kg). The finish on the aluminum is smooth, providing a comfortable touch without feeling slippery. It’s also available in other color options like Champagne Gold and E-Milky White, so there’s a bit of customization for those who are particular about aesthetics.

The keyboard features a 68% ANSI layout, which strikes a nice balance between compactness and functionality. This layout omits the function row and number pad but retains arrow keys and some navigation buttons on the right.

It’s a straightforward design choice that frees up desk space, a benefit I’ve come to appreciate, especially during extended typing or gaming sessions. While the lack of a dedicated number pad might be inconvenient for some, I found the compact design well-suited to my needs.

The keyboard features a 7° typing angle, ergonomically designed to reduce wrist strain during long typing sessions. The keyboard comes with custom PBT keycaps co-developed with ALOHAKB, known for its high-quality keycap production. The PBT material is resistant to shine, so the keycaps will retain their matte texture even after extensive use. These keycaps are dye-sublimated, ensuring the legends won’t fade or wear down over time.

Additionally, the keycaps are slightly thicker than standard, giving a more substantial feel and a satisfying tactile response. Some keycaps, like the Escape and Arrow Keys, have translucent elements, allowing a subtle glow from the RGB lighting to enhance aesthetics without overwhelming brightness.

The Magger 68 HE includes per-key RGB backlighting with North-facing LEDs. However, it lacks an RGB through-letter backlight, which may be a minor letdown for night-time users, though ambient lighting and a simple RGB glow along the edges and base provide a decent aesthetic touch.

The keyboard is fitted with small silicone feet that keep it securely in place on various surfaces. While the feet are thin, they effectively anchor the keyboard, even during vigorous typing sessions. If it happens, you can fix it by pressing and holding the ESC key, plugging in the cable, and then directly opening the driver to upgrade the firmware.

The software offers a variety of customization options, including macros, key remapping, setting up different layers for various functions, and customizing RGB lighting effects. It also allows you to adjust the actuation point for each key, down to 0.1 mm, which is particularly useful for gamers who need precise keypress control. You can also change the polling rate as well.

However, the current software version has some limitations, such as a less intuitive slider for setting actuation points and no option to input specific values directly. The Muse65 HE excels in performance, thanks to its impressive 8,000 Hz polling rate, which is significantly higher than the standard 1,000 Hz found in most keyboards. This means the keyboard can send data to your computer much faster, virtually eliminating input delay—a crucial advantage in competitive gaming.

During my testing, the customizable actuation points proved particularly beneficial in games where quick reflexes and precision are essential. Being able to set the actuation point as low as 0.1 mm allowed for incredibly fast inputs, providing a noticeable edge in gameplay.

Typing on the Muse65 HE is also a delightful experience. The switches are smooth, producing a satisfying yet not overly loud sound. The aluminum case and tray mount design contribute to a consistent, pleasing typing sound that sets this keyboard apart from many others.

Firstly, I absolutely love the sound it makes while typing.

The keyboard offers a nice amount of key travel and a satisfying bottom-out feeling. The pre-lubricated switches feel smooth and responsive.
