Keychron, a well-known mechanical keyboard brand, recently announced the V8 Max keyboard in the Chinese market featuring a unique ergonomic Alice layout. The keyboard is now up for sale on Tmall and JD.com at a starting price of 529 yuan ($72).

Keychron V8 Max Keyboard Specifications:

The V8 Max boasts a unique 65% Alice layout, which is designed to be more ergonomic than traditional layouts by placing the keys in a more natural angle for your hands. This can help to reduce wrist strain and fatigue during extended typing sessions.

In terms of connectivity, the V8 Max offers a versatile triple-mode connection option. You can choose between a 2.4 GHz wireless connection with a 1000 Hz polling rate for competitive gaming, Bluetooth 5.1 for seamless multi-device switching between your computer, phone, and tablet, or a wired USB-C connection.

The keyboard is built to be tinkerer-friendly. It features a hot-swappable switch design, allowing you to easily customize the typing experience by installing your preferred mechanical switches without soldering.

The keyboard comes with pre-lubricated Gateron Jupiter switches in red, brown, or yellow options, but you can swap them out for any compatible 3-pin or 5-pin MX mechanical switches to find your perfect keystroke feel. These linear switches are factory-lubricated for a smoother typing feel and boast a lifespan of up to 80 million keystrokes.

The V8 Max also features OSA profile double-shot PBT keycaps, known for their durability and resistance to wear and tear. These keycaps are designed to provide a comfortable typing experience and come with both Mac and Windows layouts for added convenience.

The V8 Max utilizes a gasket mount design to reduce noise and vibration. This, along with the included sound-absorbing foam, creates a quieter typing experience. The keyboard also boasts south-facing RGB LED lights, which shine towards the user for better keycap illumination without light bleed-through on the keycaps.

For added functionality, the V8 Max is equipped with a powerful ARM architecture MCU and supports both open-source QMK/VIA software for extensive key remapping and macro programming options.
