The launch is scheduled for February 21 and will take place in Beijing. The company has released a new image via its official Weibo account mentioning that a new device called the Honor 8 Youth Edition will also be launched  in China on February 21.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Honor 8 Youth Edition is a toned-down variant of the popular Honor 8 released last year. It has the same attractive glass and metal design as the Honor 8 but skips on a number of features.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-117700 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Honor-8-Lite.jpg?x10805" alt="Honor 8 Youth Edition" width="640" height="1145" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Honor-8-Lite.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Honor-8-Lite-168x300.jpg 168w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Honor-8-Lite-572x1024.jpg 572w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Honor 8 Youth Edition is expected to launch with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Huawei Kirin 655 processor, and 3GB of RAM. Instead of dual rear cameras, the phone  gets a single 12MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Up front is an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. The device will come with a 3000mAh battery and will launch with EMUI 5.0 out of the box. It will be available in black, white, gold, and blue.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Honor 8 Youth Edition poster has the picture of Chinese-born Canadian singer, Wu Yifan on it. This means he&#8217;ll be serving as spokesperson for the phone when it launches.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The Honor 8 Youth Edition is the same as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/02/01/honor-8-lite-preorders-begin-photos-full-specs-pricing-revealed/">Honor 8 Lite spotted in Finland</a> earlier this month and also the same device as the Nova Lite and the Huawei P8 Lite (2017) released in January. It is possible that Huawei is releasing the device under different names in different regions. The Honor 8 Lite is priced at 269 Euros in Finland which is roughly ¥1990. However, it should sell for less when it is released in China.</p>

Although this year&#8217;s flagship, the Huawei P10 is yet to be released, a toned-down version is already in the works. A few days ago, a device said to be the Huawei P10 Lite was spotted on Geekbench.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The phone with model number HUAWEI WAS-LX1A runs Android 7.0, has 4GB of RAM and is equipped with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz.  For the benchmark results, the device scores 779 points in the single-core test and 3023 points in the multi-core test. The results are similar to what you will get from other mid-range devices like the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/08/xiaomi-redmi-4-prime-review-awesome-budget-smartphone-again/">Redmi 4 Prime</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-116717" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Huawei-P10-Lite.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei P10 Lite Geekbench" width="620" height="673" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Earlier this month, another Huawei device with model number WAS-AL00 was certified by TENAA. The device also has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and runs Android 7.0, though its chip is clocked at 2.1GHz.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">We don&#8217;t know if Huawei will be giving the P10 Lite any of the special features from the flagship but the chances are pretty slim. Take for example dual cameras. Fitting the P10 Lite with dual cameras will put it in direct competition with the Honor 6X. So Huawei might want to play safe and just leave it with a single camera. One thing we are sure it will have is NFC as the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/07/huawei-p9-lite-announced/">P9 Lite</a> (select models) has it.  Another feature we presume might make it to the P10 Lite is USB Type-C</p>

Turns out the expected smartphone is the dual camera-packing, budget Huawei <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-6x/">Honor 6X</a> that was launched in China a few months back.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/honor-6x-2-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113960" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-2.jpg?x10805" alt="honor 6x" width="970" height="647" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-2.jpg 970w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-2-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px" /></a></p>
<p>The Honor 6X is an upgraded version of the equally spectacular <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/10/27/the-beautiful-honor-5x-with-all-metal-body-official-for-157/">Honor 5X</a> which was launched in 2015 with all-metal body, well studded specs lineup and yet a cheap $157 price tag. But then Huawei launched the Honor 6X with an upgraded specs tablet and the mid-ranger even packs a stunning dual-lens camera at the rear, yet was placed in the budget price category.</p>
<h3>Design &amp; Hardwares &#8211; Honor 6X</h3>
<p>Talking about the design, the Huawei Honor 6X features an all metallic built, with 2.5D glass on the front. The phone has smooth and well chamfered edges with less design bezels at the sides, giving it a premium flagship look. It also has a compact body with a dimension of 150.9 x 72.6 x 8.2mm and weighing in  at 162 grams.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/honor-6x-4/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113959" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x.jpg?x10805" alt="honor-6x" width="970" height="647" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x.jpg 970w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read Also: </span><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/18/huawei-honor-s1-smartwatch-launched-price-699-yuan/">Huawei Honor S1 Smartwatch Launched Priced at 699 Yuan ($104)</a></strong></p>
<p>As for the specs, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-honor-6x/">Honor 6X</a> is powered by the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin">Kirin</a> 655 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.1GHz with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU which is a decent offering for a budget smartphone. The device sports a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution.  Only the 3GB + 32GB storage version is available for both markets right now, but Huawei has said the 4GB RAM version will hit select markets in due course.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/honor_6x_id_11-1/" rel="attachment wp-att-103044"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-103044" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/honor_6x_id_11-1.jpg?x10805" alt="honor_6x_id_11-1" width="1920" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/honor_6x_id_11-1.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/honor_6x_id_11-1-300x156.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/honor_6x_id_11-1-768x400.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/honor_6x_id_11-1-1024x533.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></a></p>
<p>Going further, the phone features a dual camera setup at the rear consisting of one 12MP primary sensor and another 2MP secondary sensor. Huawei teased a photo captured by the Honor 6X&#8217;s rear cameras at dusk and the image was crisp clear, meaning it packs a powerful sensor onboard. Up front, there is an 8MP camera. Inside, the phone features a decent 3340mAh battery. As for the software, the device runs on Android 6 Marshmallow with Emotion UI 4.1 on top. Other features include fingerprint sensor at the back, dual SIM dual standby, 4G LTE, WI-Fi n and GPS.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/honor-6x-3-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-113961" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-3.jpg?x10805" alt="honor 6x" width="970" height="647" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-3.jpg 970w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/honor-6x-3-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 970px) 100vw, 970px" /></a></p>
<h3>Pricing</h3>
<p>The Honor 6X comes in five different colors namely gold, rose gold, silver, gray, and navy. As for the price in the EU and US, the Honor 6X starts at $249 in the US for the 3GB RAM version. This is slightly higher than the $149 price tag it clutched on launch day in China a few months back.
