The rumor has turned out to be true as the Chinese manufacturer has introduced the Huawei MediaPad T5 mid-range tablet in India. The tablet has a starting price of Rs. 14,990 and it will be available for purchase starting from next week in the country.

The MediaPad T5 is the very same tablet that was introduced in China in October 2018 as Honor MediaPad T5 with a starting price of 1,599 Yuan (~$233). The tablet houses a 10.1-inch display that offers full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Huawei has added an Eye Comfort mode for protecting the eyesight of users.

The Kirin 659 chipset that powered many of the Huawei and Honor branded smartphones in late 2017 and 2018 is present under the hood of the device. We have been waiting for Huawei to announce a new processor for its mid-range devices for months now. The Kirin 659 which it announced last year has appeared in so many phones, its hard to keep track. So it comes as a sigh of relief to know it now has a new mid-range processor – the Kirin 710.

The Kirin 710 is Huawei’s first 12nm chipset. The smaller size means there should be a significant improvement in power consumption and performance when compared to the 16nm Kirin 659.

In terms of performance, the Kirin 710’s single-core performance is said to be 75% higher than that of the Kirin 659 while for multi-core performance, it offers a 68% increase in performance

The chipset consists of four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The GPU is an ARM Mali G5 which is said to be 1.3 times better than that of the Kirin 659 and 1x more energy efficient. It also has support for LTE Cat. 12 and Cat. 13 and dual-SIM dual-4G VoLTE.

The image signal processor and digital signal processor have also seen improvements and enhance the performance of the camera in low-light conditions. There is also scene recognition and support for Face Unlock.

Huawei has recently confirmed through a press event that it will be holding a launch event on July 18 to announce the Huawei Nova 3. The unveil event will be held at the Shenzhen Universiade Stadium. The handset has already appeared on TENAA with its entire specifications and images. A new teaser of the Nova 3 smartphone has appeared on Huawei’s Weibo account. The image reveals the front and rear design of the phone.

As it can be seen in the below image, the Nova 3 is yet another notched display phone from the company. It will be joining the Nova 3 series which includes the Nova 3e notched display smartphone that was announced few months. The notch of the Nova 3 appears bigger than the other notched screen phones from the company. This is because Nova 3’s notch includes an earpiece, some sensors and two front-facing cameras. It could be the first notched display smartphone ever to come with dual selfie cameras.

The display of the Huawei Nova 3 is surrounded with slim bezels. However, the chin of the device is slightly thick. The glass back of the Nova 3 has a vertical dual camera setup that is powered by AI. The poster also reveals that the smartphone will be hitting the market in at least in two color options like light blue and gold. The back panel also houses a fingerprint reader. The text present on the teaser states that it is a “selfie expert phone with 24-megapixel four cameras with AI.”

The TENAA listing of the Huawei Nova 3 has revealed that its front is decked with 24-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup and its backside features 16-megapixel + 24-megapixel dual camera setup. The handset is fueled by 6 GB of RAM and a 2.36 GHz octa-core processor. The latter could be the Kirin 659 mid-range SoC which suggests that the Nova 3 could be a budget-friendly phone. Like the other Nova models, it will be aimed towards younger audience.

The Nova 3 will be arriving with a massive Full HD+ resolution supporting screen of 6.3 inches. It is expected to arrive in 64 GB and 128 GB storage models. On the backside of the phone resides the dual camera setup and a fingerprint reader. In the above image, the model number of the Nova 3e is mentioned as ANE-AL00 and it is running on EMU 8.0 skinned Android 8.0 Oreo. The leaked photo confirms that the handset will be fueled by Kirin 659 chipset. Out of the 64 GB storage, the handset will provide users with a usable space of 51 GB. Lastly, the leaked image also reveals that the display of the Nova 3e carries support for FHD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels.

Previous leaks have revealed that the dual camera setup of the Nova 3e will include a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Also, it will be housing a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. Recent reports have also revealed that the handset would be arriving in colors like Black, Blue and Pink-Gold.

On Monday, Huawei had unveiled the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design smartphones. However, the Mate 10 Lite was not unveiled alongside these phones. Today, the Chinese firm has made it official discreetly.

Huawei Mate 10 Lite Specifications and Features

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite features an elongated 5.9-inch LCD panel and since it carries support for FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, it produces an aspect ratio of 2:1. The display is surrounded by minimal bezels. The smartphone features 156.2 x 75.2 x 7.5mm and its weight is 164 grams.

The top bezel houses a dual camera system that includes a 13-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. The rear side of the phone is flanked with Leica certified and dual-LED enabled dual camera system featuring a 16-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. Since the smartphone features a large display and does not have enough space to house a Home button below it, the fingerprint scanner is moved to rear side of the phone.

The 16nm Kirin 659 chipset that features a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor and ARM Mali-T830 MP2 graphics is present under the hood of the Mate 10 Lite. The SoC is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. The native storage that has been provided on the handset is 64 GB. It also features an external storage slot for adding a microSD card. The 3,340mAh battery that is enabled rapid charging powers the smartphone.

Huawei Mate 10 Lite Pricing

The Huawei Mate 10 Lite comes in color choices like Prestige Gold and Graphite Black along with a pricing of 349 euros in Europe. Its dual-SIM edition will come in Aurora Blue color option. German retailers are going to begin its pre-orders starting from Nov. 1.

Interestingly, the Mate 10 Lite has been already launched in multiple markets already with different names. It came as Maimang 6 in China and Nova 2i in Malaysia. India received the same phone as Honor 9i.

Huawei has been officially announced the Maimang 6 smartphone in China today. The key features of this smartphone are dual front and rear cameras and a large display that offers an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Huawei Maimang 6 is fitted with a 5.9-inch display that produces a Full HD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The screen is overlaid with a 2.5D curved glass. The Chinese manufacturer has powered the Maimang 6 with Kirin 659 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. It features a 3,340mAh battery and includes a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner below the display.

The smartphone features a hybrid SIM slot that allows user to either use a microSD card or nano-sized SIM on the second slot. It features an internal storage of 64 GB. The Android 7.0 Nougat OS available on the smartphone is skinned with EMUI 5.1.

The front side of the handset includes dual selfie snappers of 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel. It is coupled with a soft LED flash. The backside of the phone has a dual-tone LED flash enabled dual camera setup that comprises of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The other features of the smartphone include Bluetooth 4.2, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

The pre-orders of the Huawei Maimang 6 has started from today in China. It is priced at 2,399 Yuan (~$365) in the country. Its shipments will begin on Sept. 30. Rumors are rife that the smartphone would be debuting globally as Huawei Mate 10 Lite in October.
