Lava AGNI 5G latest update brings March 2022 security patch & bug fixes

Lava has rolled out the latest security patch and bug fixes for the AGNI 5G smartphone. The March 2022 software update for the Lava AGNI 5G will enhance system security, fix some minor bugs and enhance the smartphone’s user interface.

The AGNI 5G March 2022 security patch will be available to users of the AGNI 5G when they are notified. The software update will be distributed via OTA to the users but they can alternatively check for updates using their device’s settings application. Customers have been assured by Lava that there will be regular software updates for the AGNI 5G during its software support cycle, going forward.

The last software update provided for the AGNI 5G was the Widevine L1 upgrade, which enabled users to view 1080p videos and also stream such from their devices. The Widevine L1 upgrade was a culmination of fruitful customer engagements by Lava. The major customer feedback was the need to improve the overall user experience of the AGNI 5G.

The Lava AGNI 5G is powered by a 6nm Dimensity 810 chipset and it has an 8GB/128GB RAM/internal storage configuration. The 6.78-inch FHD+IPS screen of the AGNI 5G has a 90Hz refresh rate. The main camera setup of the AGNI 5G consists of a 64MP primary lens, a 5MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro lens. The front-facing camera of the AGNI 5G is rated 16MP.

The smartphone was released in November 2021 and also comes with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. The Lava AGNI 5G is still available via online retail outlets including Amazon, Flipkart and the Lava e-store, as well as through online retailers.

Lava offers Realme 8s owners a chance to swap their phones for Free with the AGNI 5G

It is common to see smartphone companies promote their models by comparing them to other models from rival brands that fall in the same product category. It is also common to see OEMs troll each other for more reason or the other as a marketing tool. But what is probably not common is a company directly offering to swap a rival brand’s model with its own. That is what Indian firm Lava is presently doing with the Realme 8s.

Turns out Lava is offering Realme 8s owners the chance to swap their units for a Lava AGNI 5G. The thing is Lava AGNI 5G and Realme 8s booth share similar specs except for a few differences. The differences lie in the display size where the AGNI 5G pack a 6.78-inch display as against a 6.5-inch screen for the Realme model. Also, the AGNI 5G packs a quad-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 64MP+5MP+2MP+2MP setup whereas the *s has a triple camera setup made up of a 64MP+2MP+2MP combo. It is left for users to decide if the offer is worth taking up considering the specs are almost similar. But then, who would like to snap a used phone for a brand new one. It sounds inviting but we can’t guarantee that you’ll get the same software experience on both models. The company will definitely be riding on the back of its popularity as an indigenous Indian brand to get this offer flying. Even at that, it is a tough nut convincing an average phone user to swap a realme model for a similarly specced Lava phone.

The offer is open to owners of both the 6GB and 8GB variants of the Realme 8s. It will run from January 3rd to January 7 and can be accessed from Lava’s e-store.

Lava AGNI 5G has debuted in India. It has arrived as the first-ever 5G-ready phone from an Indian brand. Priced under Rs 20,000 (~$270), the AGNI 5G is packed with enticing specs. Furthermore, it offers an impressive design that allows it to rival other 5G phones from Chinese brands in a similar price range.

Lava AGNI 5G specifications and features

The Lava AGNI 5G features a massive 6.78-inch LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen is flanked with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The power button available on its right edge is integrated with a fingerprint scanner.

For selfies, the AGNI 5G is fitted with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera unit has a 64-megapixel main lens, a 5-megapixel ultrawide shooter with a 115-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel portrait lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a dual-LED flash. The phone runs on a near-stock version of Android 11.

The AGNI 5G is fueled by the latest Dimensity 810 5G chipset. It offers users with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery, which carries support for 30W rapid charging. The usual connectivity features like dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack are also available on the AGNI 5G.

Lava AGNI 5G price in India

The Lava AGNI 5G is priced at Rs 19,999 (~$270). It will be available for purchase through Lava India’s online store, leading e-retailers, and retail stores from Nov. 11. Customers who pre-book the AGNI 5G with a payment of Rs 500 (~$7) will be entitled to get it at lowered price of Rs 17,999 (~$243). The handset comes in Fiery Blue color only.

Earlier in an interview with LAVA officials, it was revealed that the company will bring a 5G phone to the market. Today, the 5G phone has appeared on the Internet and it seems quite impressive. The device packs a Dimensity 5G SoC and is expected to come with triple cameras.

According to the notorious leaker Abhishek Yadav, the new 5G phone is called Lava AGNI 5G and it will be priced at ₹19,999(~$264). The tipster has also shared the specs sheet of the device. Before we get to the specs of the smartphone, we reveal that the Lava AGNI 5G will be launched on November 9 in India.

Lava’s official Youtube channel had accidently published the scheduled Live for November 9 but it has now been removed. Nonetheless, we can say that the phone is launching next month.

The Lava AGNI 5G brings a punch-hole display and a modern design. It will feature a 90Hz screen with thin bezels. The device is tipped to come equipped with a 64MP triple camera system. It will have a single camera at the front.

Under the hood, the phone will be fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC. It could be paired with 4GB of base RAM configuration and may come with expandable storage. The phone is touted to pack a 5,000mAh battery and may support fast charging technology. It will run on Android 11 out of the box and is expected to have Lava’s custom skin and pre-installed apps. It will have a 3.5mm headphone jack and a speaker setup at the bottom.
