The Lava Storm 5G smartphone was unveiled in the Indian market earlier this month. Now, the smartphone has officially began its first sale in the region, so here’s everything you need to know about its price, specs, and special launch offers.

Lava Storm 5G Pricing and Introductory Offers

The Indian smartphone maker has gone on sale for a price tag of 13,499 INR. This is for its sole 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. It is currently listed for purchase on Amazon. The device also comes with an instant 1,500 INR discount on all bank card transactions, bringing the price tag down to 11,999 INR. Keep in mind that the band offers are only available in limited stocks. The Lava Storm 5G is available in two color options, namely Gale Green and Thunder Black.

Lava Storm 5G Specs

The Lava Storm 5G sports a tall 6.78-inch LCD panel that offers Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC under the hood. A massive 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 33W fast charging. On the rear, it features a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra wide angle lens. Meanwhile, the front houses a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

The smartphone runs on Android 13 OS out of the box and is promised to received Android 14 OS as well as 2 years of security updates. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.0, dual SIM, dual band WiFi, USB Type C, which measures 8.96mm in thickness and weighs 214 grams, a 3.5mm headphone jack, side mounted fingerprint scanner, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

Lava has launched yet another smartphone in India within a week of its last release. The new device is called Lava Storm 5G. As the name suggests, the handset offers 5G connectivity.

The pro variant of this phone leaked in October 2022 but it never got launched. More than a year later, the brand has now debuted the vanilla model.

Let’s go through the specs of this handset along with its pricing and availability.

Lava Storm 5G Specifications

The design of this device is inspired by Samsung phones. It has a flat frame and vertically aligned separate camera modules.

Despite being a budget smartphone, it features a glass back, like the Redmi 12 and Redmi 13C lineups. In addition to a 3.5m headphone jack, it also has a MicroSD card slot and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The front of the handset is dominated by a 6.78-inch punch-hole display. This LCD panel offers a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels, 396 PPI, and up to a 120Hz refresh rate.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chip paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It boots Android 13 and is guaranteed to receive Android 14 as well as 2 years of security updates.

It has two useful cameras on the rear — a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide unit. On the front, there’s a 16MP shooter.

Connectivity options include dual SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS, and USB Type-C. The product measures 8.96mm in thickness and weighs 214g.

Last but not least, the device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W charging.

Lava Storm 5G Price

The Lava Storm 5G is priced at ₹13,499 (~$160) for the sole 8GB + 128GB variant in India. For a limited time, it will be sold at a discounted price tag of ₹12,999 (including bank offer).

The smartphone can be availed in either Gale Green or Thunder Black color options from Lava E-Store or Amazon starting December 28.

After the recent launch of the Lava Yuva 3 Pro India, the brand is preparing to launch another device before the end of 2023. The Lava Storm 5G is scheduled to debut on December 21. Ahead of the launch, tipster Mukul Sharma has shared some details about the device and also shared a picture.

Lava Storm 5G leaked details

Mukul Sharma has shared an image of the Lava Storm 5G in black, revealing a flat frame, along with flat sides and a protruding camera module that resembels the recent Galaxy smartphones from Samsung. The back has two camera lenses, and the thrid protrusion holds the LED flash. The right side features the power button and volume rocker.

In addition to that, Mukul has revealed some key specs as well as the price point of the device. As per the tweet, the Storm 5G will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor, which is essentially a renamed Dimensity 810 processor. Devices like the Redmi Note 13, Note 13R Pro, Tecno Pova 5 Pro and the Infinix Note 30 5G are some of the deivces that feature this chipset.

The tipster also reveals that the device will have 8GB RAM with support for an additional 8GB virtual RAM. It will also feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera, along with its undiscolsed primary sensor. As for the pricing, the tipster reports that the device will be priced below ₹15,000. More details are expected to be made available as we get closer to the December 21 launch.

Recently Lava launched the Yuva 3 Pro smartphone in India. Now, the homegrown brand is gearing up to announce a new smartphone in the country. Today, Lava has revealed the launch date of the upcoming offering which will be called the Storm 5G. The teaser shared by the company also gives us a slight glimpse at the device.

Lava is set to launch the Storm 5G smartphone in India on December 21. It will be available for purchase from Amazon. The teaser video reveals that the device has a boxy form factor with power and volume rocker buttons located on the right side. The former will likely double up as a fingerprint scanner. The back panel has three circular rings with the top two larger rings expected to have a camera sensor whereas the smaller ring may accommodate an LED flash unit.

The teaser also suggests that the Lava Storm 5G may come in Green and Black color options. The rest of the details of the upcoming smartphone remain a mystery.

As for the Lava Yuva 3 Pro, it has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by a Unisoc T616 processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone features a 50MP rear camera along with a secondary lens and an 8MP selfie snapper. The Yuva 3 Pro is backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 18W charging. Software-wise, it runs on Android 13 out of the box.
