<p>For those unaware, the Chinese brand is gearing up to launch the Legion Y90 for a while now. It was initially believed that the company would launch this gaming smartphone last month in January, but just recently, Lenovo announced the February 28 release date for the Legion Y90 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo-legion-y700/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Y700</a> tablet; and in the latest teaser, the company shared a new video in which it showcased some of its key specifications, which revealed that it even features SSD (Solid State Drive) storage as well.</p>
<p>The video showcases the design of the smartphone and also highlights the internal specs. This includes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm-snapdragon-8-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1</a> SoC paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. However, the UFS 3.1 storage wasn&#8217;t alone, as we can also observe an SSD storage as well. The video was shared on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website) with a caption that said that the device features &#8220;UFS+SSD&#8221; in a RAID 0 storage. Through this, the Y90 will see a boost of 50 percent in terms of memory write speeds.</p>

<p>Talking about the device&#8217;s other features, it will sport a 6.92 inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 2460 x 1080 pixels resolution. Since it is a gaming handset, the display will offer 144Hz refresh rate and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. It has a unique design with the iconic RGB &#8220;Y&#8221; branding on the rear, which is also where the middle camera module and fan is housed for cooling. <p>Over the last few months, Lenovo had been teasing its first gaming smartphone, especially through Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/14/lenovo-legion-phones-90w-charging-will-refill-a-4000mah-battery-in-15-minutes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">One of the most interesting ones was the fact that the device can fast charge at rates up to 90W</a>. And now, a new report has shared screenshots of an unreleased teaser video that reveals more tidbits regarding the Legion handset.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-320936 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1200" height="519" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b-300x130.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b-768x332.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b-1024x443.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b-696x301.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b-1068x462.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-3b-971x420.jpg 971w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>Looking at the screenshots, Lenovo teases its 90W fast charging technology again, which will be supported through two USB Type C ports (on the bottom and one of the sides during gaming). Through this image, we can observe that the rear panel has an LED flash right in the middle just below its dual camera setup which is also placed uniquely near the center of the back panel. The overall aesthetics of the device hints at gaming with angular designs that simulate speed and power through 3D textures.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/04/nubia-red-magic-5g-features-hidden-options-for-120hz-refresh-rate-new-color-modes-and-fhd-screen-recording/">Nubia Red Magic 5G features hidden options for 120Hz refresh rate, new color modes and FHD screen recording</a></strong></h6>
<p>Among the leaked screenshots, a few other details were also revealed. This includes Lenovo Legion&#8217;s new uEngine technology, which is its symmetrical dual X-axis linear vibration motor and hints at the device&#8217;s cooling and audio capabilities. The gaming phone will reportedly feature a 3D cooling tower structure with dual heat pipe partitions for long-lasting cooling. For audio, it will sport positive stereo sound from its full symmetrical 65mm dual speakers, dual 0.6mm amp speaker system, and 1.4cc large sound cavity.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-320935 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-4b-1024x440.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1024" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-4b-1024x440.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-4b-1024x440-300x129.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-4b-1024x440-768x330.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-4b-1024x440-696x299.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Phone-Watermarked-4b-1024x440-977x420.jpg 977w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Notably, the Legion logo can also be observed on the back on top of which a side mounted popup camera is also housed. The selfie camera&#8217;s placement is quite interesting, to say the least, and the company probably made the move for a full front display design. Furthermore, the report also revealed that the device carried the model number L79031 and is codenamed &#8220;moba.&#8221; Unfortunately, this has yet to be confirmed officially so stay tuned.</p>

The announcement was made a few weeks ago and it was revealed the phone will launch under Lenovo&#8217;s Legion gaming brand. Today, a new poster has been released and it teases the phone&#8217;s fast charging technology.</p>
<p>A rough translation of the words on the poster asks “Is 55W (fast charging) really enough?”. It seems that Lenovo is taking a shot at the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/25/iqoo-3-5g-launched-with-sd865-55w-fast-charging-powerful-gaming-features/"> iQOO 3 5G that launched today and which has support for 55W fast charging support</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-307014" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Smartphone-Fast-Charging.jpg?x10805" alt="Lenovo Legion Gaming Smartphone Fast Charging" width="690" height="1227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Smartphone-Fast-Charging.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Smartphone-Fast-Charging-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Smartphone-Fast-Charging-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Lenovo-Legion-Gaming-Smartphone-Fast-Charging-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Based on the above, one can deduce the Legion Gaming Smartphone will have support for fast charging that exceeds 55W.</p>
<p>The other text on the poster asks fans to guess what the battery level will be after charging for 15 minutes and also how long it will take to reach 100%.</p>
<p>So far, 65W is the highest power rating we have seen on a commercially available smartphone, and since the poster doesn&#8217;t ask if 65W is enough, we are sure the power rating for the Legion phone will not surpass that.</p>
<p>It has been confirmed that the Legion Gaming Smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. We expect it will have the Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G too.</p>
<p>The phone will launch first in China and there is a possibility of a global release since the Legion brand is not limited to China.</p>
