The Chinese tech giant has just confirmed that it has launched this giveaway for its Lenovo Creator Community. It is offering two of its new Legion Go 2 handheld consoles to participants. One of these is for the US and Canada, while the other is being given away in the EU and UK. As of right now, Lenovo has already started taking applications for this giveaway, with the last entries ending on 9th November 2025.

For those interested, one must first make an account on the Lenovo Creator Community website. Following this, confirm your Creator Community username to officially enter the giveaway. You will also be assigned simple tasks to earn additional entries, like following Lenovo’s X account, joining the official Legion Discord server, and others. The higher entries basically improve your chance of winning the Legion Go 2 gaming handheld. So it is worth taking these extra steps.

Lenovo will confirm the winners after the giveaway ends. To recall, the Legion Go 2 was recently unveiled with an improved display, a newer and faster Ryzen Z22 Extreme APU, up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. A large 74Wh battery pack powers this device, which supports 65W fast charging. In other words, the handheld console is faster and offers better endurance.

During the IFA 2025 event, Lenovo unveiled a series of products, including the latest Legion Go 2. The next-gen Windows console offers improved specs and performance for an improved handheld gaming experience. So here is everything you need to know.

Lenovo Legion Go 2: Play Longer, Play Harder

The Chinese tech giant announced the Legion Go 2 with a few upgrades and some minor downgrades. To recall, the original Legion Go debuted last year with an 8.8-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600p) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. While the display size and refresh rate remains the same, Lenovo has reduced the resolution down to just 1920 x 1200p and added VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) on the Legion Go 2. The screen also offers VESA TrueBlack 1000 certification, 500 nits of peak brightness, and 97% DCI P3 color gamut.

Considering how this is a portable console, high resolution is still inconsistent. So the more standard resolution and VRR should actually enable longer battery life on the second gen model. Under the hood, AMD’s new Ryzen Z2 Extreme APU powers this console, which features the Radeon 890M graphics. It can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. Thanks to the new chip, we can expect better performance in AAA titles and a smoother experience even on indie or retro titles. One can even expand storage further via a microSD card slot.

Another notable upgrade is to the battery capacity, going up from the 2-cell 49.2Wh battery to a 4-cell 74Wh battery. The gaming handheld also supports 65W fast charging. Just like its predecessor, Lenovo retains the versatile gaming modes on the Legion Go 2. Gamers can detach the controllers on either side, allowing for console, handheld, and tablet modes. The right controller can even double as a vertical mouse for fans of the FPS genre.

Apart from the typical controller and button layout, there are three additional programmable buttons on the controller that can be customized via Legion Space. Other notable features include a 3.5mm audio jack, two USB-C ports, Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, 920 grams in weight, and dual 2W speakers. Lenovo has also now confirmed that the Legion Go 2 will be the first handheld gaming console outside of ASUS to feature the custom Xbox OS experience.

Similar to the ROG Xbox Ally series, the Legion GO 2 will offer Xbox interface, which users will be able to manually switch the device from Windows 11 to Xbox full screen experience. This would likely offer a better gaming experience and could help it run faster thanks to software optimizations. To recall, the ASUS ROG Ally series stood out thanks to its Xbox optimizations. It not only saw a bump in performance, but more memory being freed up along with a longer battery life overall.

Pricing and Availability

Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 was announced in the Eclipse Black color, with first sales kicking off later this month. It will likely roll out in Europe first for a price tag of around 999 Euros. A wider release should follow soon after.

Lenovo is set to showcase the Legion Go 2 at IFA 2025 in Berlin from September 5 to September 9. The device was first shown in prototype form at CES 2025 alongside the Legion Go S, but Lenovo has not provided updates since then.

Ahead of the official announcement, reliable tipster Evan Blass has shared the promotional video of the Legion Go 2 via X, revealing its design, as well as key details.

As per the video, the Legion Go 2 features an 8.8-inch Lenovo PureSight OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and variable refresh rate support. The detachable Legion Truestrike controllers have been redesigned for comfort and flexibility. It also includes six programmable buttons, with two placed on the edge of the right controller and two sets across the rear of both controllers. The video also confirms a fingerprint scanner built into the power button, which was not included in the original Legion Go.

The Legion Go 2 supports different play modes, including tablet mode, console mode with a separate charging connector that is sold separately, and FPS mode for shooter-style play.

The device runs on AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, the same chip used in the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X. It is an 8-core 16-thread APU that has 3x Zen 5 processors and 5x Zen 5c processors. The Zen 5 cores are capable of boosting up to 5 GHz, with a base clock speed of 2 GHz. As for the GPU, the chip has 16 graphics cores onboard, based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture, capable of boosting up to 2900 MHz.

Additionally, the Legion Go 2 has a new excimer coating that makes the device more durable, resistant to fingerprints, and easier to clean. Cooling is handled by Legion Coldfront technology, which pulls air in from the back and vents heat out from the top.

Lenovo will also offer accessories, including a Legion Go dock and a Legion Go sling bag for carrying the device. Pricing and release details are expected to be announced during IFA 2025.
