Photography brand Leica has unveiled its first 4K cinema TV. The Leica Cine 1 laser TV is coming a year after it was announced during IFA 2022. The iconic photography brand is shifting some of its focus to projecting perfect images in our living rooms.

Features

The Leica Cine 1 laser TV exemplifies the Leica philosophy in its camera design. Leica has continued to deliver precise optical engineering gadgets with a minimalist design. The new Leica TV uses 4K triple RGB laser technology in combination with a Teutonic modern design. The projector has a perforated silver aluminum case design that bears a striking semblance to Leica’s cameras.

The precise surfacing and perforated detailing stretching across the exterior of the projector is also impressive. The perforated plates are designed to support the gadget’s built-in Dolby Atmos surround sound system and enable seamless ventilation.

The Cine 1 has a maximum brightness of 2,500 lumens. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet. Furthermore, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, One HDMI 2.0 port, a USB 2.0, and a USB 3.0 port. One of the HDMI 2.1 ports is compatible with eARC connectivity. The projector is compatible with Google TV and Apple Airplay 2.

The Leica Cine 1 projector is outfitted with a Summicron lens to drive home clearly the Leica identity. The projector has an automatic dust cover that protects the Summicron lens when it is not operational. Although an ultra-short throw projector, the Leica Cine 1 has two fixed projection image size options namely 100 inches and 120 inches. An 80-inch model is also available in some other markets outside the United States.

Pricing & Availability

The 100-inch Leica Cine 1 laser TV is priced at $8,995 while the 120-inch variant costs $9,495. Leica is also offering a matching Ambient Light Rejection (ALR) high-contrast screen for the projector. Availability is expected to extend beyond the United States subsequently.
