Lenovo is not really known for its budget smartphones, however last year, the company unveiled its low end K series to compete with existing popular smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The new K3 came loaded with similar specs as the Redmi rival and at a similar price tag too.

Now, latest rumors indicate that Lenovo is all set to reveal a 2GB RAM Lenovo K3 version in the market to make things even more competitive. Even with the increased RAM, the Lenovo K3 will be priced at the same figure as the recently announced Xiaomi Redmi 2 i.e. 699 Yuan. This will make the device much better than the 1GB RAM Redmi version and even if Xiaomi released the rumored 2GB variant that hit TENAA, it would be at a higher price, once again making this new Lenovo smartphone quite attractive.

Other tech specs of the device include a Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 16GB ROM, and 5-inch 720p display. There will be an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera on the device. It will run on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS and will feature a 2300 mAh battery.

Overall, the specs and pricing of the device makes it a better option than Xiaomi’s Redmi 2. However, it would be interesting when the 2GB Xiaomi Redmi 2 variant hits the market and the price at which it will retail.

After releasing the Lenovo Vibe series, Lenovo will form a new subsidiary company early next year that focuses on making internet cellphones and smart products for it. But before that, they will release their first true internet cellphone called the Lenovo K3. Recently, more details came out about the specs of this new phone.

The Lenovo K3 is also known as the Lenovo Lemon K3, perhaps because it is yellow. It has a simple and fashionable design with round edges.

Regarding the specs, the Lenovo Lemon K3 will purportedly use a 64-bit processor (Snapdragon 410) and the 8mp Sony IMX219 camera. The sound quality is also worth mentioning. It will sport dual-speakers that will be compatible with Waves sound technology. It will also sport a 5-inch display screen and use a 2300mAh battery. Its OS will be the Android-customized Vibe UI.

Lenovo recently announced that they would start a new subsidiary that would provide services for terminal-end smart devices. This subsidiary would open on April 1, 2015. Not long after, photos of what is purportedly the first internet cellphone from Lenovo’s new subsidiary was released. It is called the Lenovo K3.

Do not misunderstand. It is not related to Lenovo’s K900 and K920. This one is more of a low-cost phone based on the photo comparisons with the Xiaomi Red Mi 1S.      It sports a yellow back with no discernible features. The Lenovo K3’s screen seems to be as big as the Xiaomi Red Mi’s. We will just have to wait for more updates, so stay tuned.
