In terms of thermal management, the Y7000P employs “Qiankun” heat dissipation technology, enhancing overall performance. Compared to its predecessor, the notebook experiences a 30W performance increase, reaching 190W, while noise is reduced by 4dB, and surface temperatures drop by 3.5℃.

Lenovo has announced the release of its latest gaming notebook, the Lenovo Legion Y7000P 2023. Positioned as a super-power gaming notebook, the Y7000P 2023 model boasts significant upgrades compared to its predecessor, the Y7000P 2022, making it an ideal choice for both casual and hardcore gamers. Here are the details…

Lenovo Unveils Legion Y7000P 2023 Gaming Notebook with High-End 13th-Gen Intel i7-13700H and RTX 4060 Graphics Card

At the heart of the Lenovo Legion Y7000P 2023 is the upgraded core configuration, which now features the 13th generation Intel Core processor, coupled with NVIDIA’s RTX 4050 or 4060 graphics cards. This is a notable improvement from the 2022 model, which was equipped with the 12th generation Core and RTX 30 series GPUs.

One of the most significant changes in the Y7000P 2023 model is the screen. The notebook now comes with a 16-inch 16:10 IPS full screen, offering a resolution of 2560×1600, a high refresh rate of 165Hz, a typical brightness of 350 nits, and a 100% sRGB color gamut. With a 3ms response time and G-Sync anti-tearing technology, gamers can expect smooth, tear-free gaming experiences. Additional features include Vision HDR image display, X-Rite color management, DC dimming, Rheinland certification hardware level low blue light, and more.

The Y7000P 2023 model comes in three different SKUs. The top-tier configuration features a Core i7-13700H processor and an RTX 4060 GPU, while the entry-level model includes a Core i5-13500H processor and an RTX 4050 GPU. All models can be configured with up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of SSD storage.

The new teaser was shared on the company’s official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website) and showcases the design of the Legion Y7000P prior to its official launch. Looking at this image poster, we can tell that the laptop’s hinge can support up to 180 degree movements. In other words, the display can be bent backward till it is completely flat. Although, the highlight of the design wasn’t its hinge, rather, its thinness.

The Chinese brand has managed to make the latest Legion laptop even thinner than its previous iteration, with an emphasis on making it thin and light. As per official notes, the 2022 Legion Y7000P adopts a new design that makes it appear more squarish, with a unique “industrial aesthetic.” Furthermore, it appears that the new gaming laptop will also feature more metallic material for its build.

Lenovo further added that the 2022 Legion Y7000P is about 11.6 percent thinner than the previous generation is and also lighter than its predecessors. As per previously released official teasers, the Legion Y7000P gaming laptop is set to feature a 2K display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 165Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, other finer details are still unknown at the moment, but the company is expected to launch a number of new laptops from its Legion lineup soon. So stay tuned for more updates.

Lenovo first unveiled the Legion Y9000K, Y7000P, and Y7000 at CES 2019before they were released in China. The 15-inch laptops are also equipped with the new generation of NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards and buyers get to chose between the RTX and GTX. Zhang Hua, vice president of Lenovo Group and general manager of consumer business in Lenovo China disclosed that the Lenovo Legion notebook has three unique features namely; Dual-Direct GFX dual-mode enhanced display, TSI frost blade cooling system, and Fn+Q one-button beast mode. The TSI frost blade cooling system has a heat pipe with a diameter of up to 8mm. This has led to an increase in the heat transfer area by 78% and a reduction in the irregular fan cover noise by 10%.

The Beast mode is activated using the Fn+Q button. The Beast mode, when activated let the fan spin at full-speed in order to quickly dissipate heat from the system. This leads to stabilization of the hardware temperature, ensuring the stability of the game operation. Beast mode also turns off power consumption limits, increases CPU power and clock speed, gains more computing performance, and increases game speed. Furthermore, the laptops feature a full-size keyboard with a white backlight.
