A new Lenovo phone with a massive 6.47-inch display has surfaced on TENAA apparently to get its network certification. The specifications of the new phone can’t be compared to what you have on other large screen phones like the Xiaomi Mi Max or the Meizu M3 Max.

The phone which has model number PB2-650N sports a 6.47” HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front facing camera.

It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, has a SD card slot (128GB max) and a 4050mah battery which should provide enough screen time since it has a 720p resolution.

The image on TENAA however shows the display having thin side bezels and lacking a fingerprint scanner. The phone weighs 230g and has a thickness of 8.65mm. There is support for 4G LTE (TDD and FDD) but the bands are few.

There is no official pricing yet but judging from the specs, it should not cost more than ¥599 ($88). It will pass as a good phone for kids, elderly ones, or those on a very tight budget.

It appears the Lenovo phone above is the 2GB variant of the Lenovo Phab 2 that is sold in the United States. The Lenovo Phab 2 was  announced back in June and can be said to be the stripped down version of the Project Tango phone (Phab 2 Pro) made in collaboration with Google.

The US version of the Lenovo Phab 2 is a bit different. It has a 3GB RAM and doubles the storage to 32GB. It is also one of the first phones in the world to feature Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 which let’s you ”record amazing audio with 360° immersive quality”. This is achieved by a combination of Dolby technology and 3 built-in microphones. It also has 360° noise cancellation, conference call and interview modes that help you achieve maximum audio clarity.

The processor is a 1.3GHz MT8753 quad-core chip. There is a 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP 85° wide angle selfie camera. Battery is 4050mAh and there is support for dual micro-SIMs.

It however sells for ¥1355 ($200) which might not be pricey for those looking for cheap unlocked phones in the US but is expensive compared to what you can get in China.

We don’t know if the Chinese variant will get the Dolby Audio Capture feature but we are sure no one in China will shell out $200 for a phone with a HD screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM and a 1.3GHz processor.
