There is not really a device which is more beautiful or has a way better build quality than each other in this trio. Lenovo S5 Pro has definitely the most original aesthetics, but it is all about tastes. So, nothing surprising but nothing disappointing at the same time.

The Lenovo S5 Pro and Lenovo K5 Pro smartphones have been officially announced today through an unveil event in China. The Lenovo S5 Pro is an upgraded version of the Lenovo S5 phone that was announced in March this year. And the Lenovo K5 Pro is an updated edition of the Lenovo K5 that made official in June. The Chinese manufacturer also announced budget-friendly Lenovo K5s as the third phone today. Here is all the information on the S5 Pro and K5 Pro from the launch event.

Lenovo S5 Pro Specifications and Features

The Lenovo S5 Pro sports a metal unibody design. The smartphone sports a slim profile of 7.7mm and it weighs 170 grams.

One of the major selling points of the S5 Pro is that it is equipped with four cameras. Two of them are available inside the notch at the front and the remaining are available on the backside of the phone. The handset is fitted with a 6.26-inch IPS LCD display that produces an aspect ratio of 18.7:9and Full HD+ resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels.

The Lenovo S5 is equipped with Snapdragon 625 and the newly announced Pro variant has Snapdragon 636 onboard. The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM and it comes in storage choices like 64 GB and 128 GB. The 3,500mAh battery of the phone carries support for 18W fast charging.

The notch of the Lenovo S5 Pro houses 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel with f/2.2 dual apertures. The inclusion of IR camera in the notch enables accurate face unlock feature that works precisely even in dark. The front cameras can capture enhanced selfie shots and stylized portrait shots.

The USP of the smartphone is that it is equipped with dual front-facing and dual rear cameras.  It features a metallic chassis measures 155.98 x 74.98 x 7.98mm an it weighs 165 grams.

Lenovo K5s Specifications and Features

The Lenovo K5s is another addition to 2018 K-series from the company. Even though it is an entry-level smartphone, it sports an elegant dual-sided glass design. It also equipped with dual front-facing and dual rear-mounted cameras.

The Lenovo K5s features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display that produces 18:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The handset measures 153.8 x 72.9 x 7.95 and it weighs 155 grams.

The MediaTek Helio P22 (MTK6762) chipset powers the smartphone. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and an inbuilt storage of 32 GB. It is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS that is skinned with ZUI 5.0. There is a 3,000mAh battery inside the Lenovo K5s which carries support for 10W charging.

The Lenovo S5 Pro variants such as 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage are respectively priced at 1,298 Yuan (~$187) and 1,398 Yuan (~$202). Its color variants are Ice Blue, Pure Gold and Jing Yao Black. The pre-orders of the S5 Pro have started. Its first sale will take place on Oct. 23.

The Lenovo K5 Pro comes in multiple variants such as 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM. They are respectively priced at 998 Yuan, 1,098 Yuan and 1,298 Yuan. The two color editions of the Lenovo K5 Pro are Style Black and Elegant Gold. Its currently available on pre-orders and its official sales will begin on Oct. 25 in the home market.

Lastly, the Lenovo K5s comes with an irresistible pricing of 798 Yuan (~$115) only. It can be availed in colors like Gothic Black and Greek Blue. The pre-orders of the Lenovo K5s also started. It will be available for buying in China from Oct. 23.

The Lenovo S5 Pro doesn’t launch until tomorrow. We already know its specs thanks to TENAA and Lenovo‘s own teasers. The phone will come in multiple variants including a 6GB RAM + 64GB model. The price for the 6GB model has leaked thanks to a spy photo.

It appears the photo was taken at the venue for the launch while someone was checking out the slides for the event. As revealed in the photo, the Lenovo S5 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage will sell for ¥2299 (~$332). That is a lot for a Snapdragon 660 phone!

The S5 Pro is being touted as having impressive cameras which still has to be confirmed. But does the camera performance justify the price Lenovo is asking for it? Heck! The newly announced Vivo Z3 with Snapdragon 710, 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at ¥2298 (~$332). Let’s not also forget the Meizu X8 which also has a Snapdragon 710 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of space and has a ¥1998 (~$288) price tag.

A similar kind of teaser was posted last week along with the announcement of official S5 Pro launch date on October 18. It carriers dual 20 megapixels + 12 megapixels camera with improved night shots. Users can see more crisp and detailed pictures from the upcoming Lenovo S5 Pro rear shooter.

Additionally, it is expected to carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 1.8 GHz octa-core processor. It will run on Android 8.1 Oreo and supports 3500 mAh battery. It carries 6.18 inch of full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. There will be multiple storage variants of 3/64GB, 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB Internal storage variants. It has expandable memory slot of up to 128 GB via microSD card.

The Lenovo S5 Pro launches in a few days and Lenovo is counting down to the day by releasing one teaser poster each day. The teaser posters for yesterday and today reveals details of the cameras as well as the color variants the phone will come in.

The teasers were shared on Weibo by the company’s CEO and they also take a swipe at Xiaomi’s Mi 8 series. For example, yesterday’s teaser takes on the Mi 8 and brags that the S5 Pro’s 20MP sensor which forms one of the two AI dual front-facing camera is better than that of Xiaomi’s flagship.

The secondary 8MP sensor is not shown in the image but we can tell that the S5 Pro in the poster has a Rose Gold finish. This is actually not one of the colors listed by TENAA.

On the other hand, the teaser poster released today takes on the Mi 8 SE. Lenovo boasts the S5 Pro’s f/1.8 sensor is superior to that of the Mi 8 SE. The primary camera on the rear of the Mi 8 SE is a 12MP f/1.9 sensor while the secondary camera is a 5MP f/2.0 sensor. TENAA says the Lenovo S5 Pro has a 20MP + 12MP dual rear camera combo and the teaser above says one of the sensors has a f/1.8 aperture. On paper, the Lenovo is superior but it remains to be seen if it can beat the Mi 8 SE in a shootout.

The poster also reveals some other details. We can see one of the sensors has a 5P lens while the other has a 6P lens. It also confirms the phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and will come in blue. This color is also not among the ones listed by TENAA.

The Lenovo S5 Pro launches on October 18. It will have a 6.18-inch 2246 x 1080 display, a Snapdragon 660 processor, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It will also have a 3500mAh battery and run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

These posters confirmed the rumours which were saying that it will carry a quad camera module on the rear side. We expect Lenovo S5 Pro to take on the Mi 8 Lite, but latter’s gradient colours are inevitably going to hit the Lenovo’s Business.

Other specs about the Lenovo S5 Pro has not been confirmed, but as per the listing on Geekbench, it will carry Snapdragon 660 SoC. There will be a 6.18-inch (1080×2246 pixels) full-HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone will come in three RAM variants such as 3/32GB, 4/64GB and 6GB/128GB options. It will hold dual shooter on the front side with a quad sensor module on the rear side. Its dimensions measures at 154.5×75.45×7.7mm weighing 169 grams. It will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5, and GPS as connectivity options.

On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite (Youth) edition carries Snapdragon 660 with an eight-core processor having a maximum frequency of 2.2 GHz. In-camera department, it carries dual 12 megapixels + 5-megapixel shooter with AI support on the rear side. The rear camera supports portrait mode, AI scene camera and many other features. The Lenovo S5 is scheduled to get a Pro version on October 18. We first learned of the S5 Pro’s existence via a Weibo post by Lenovo‘s own CEO. The social media platform usually identifies the device used in making a post, and for that specific post, which was actually a teaser for the manufacturer’s upcoming phone with four rear cameras, the Lenovo S5 Pro was the device used.

The Lenovo S5 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench and now we have an idea of what some of its specs are. The device was benchmarked today as the “Lenovo Lenovo L58041”.

The benchmark result reveals the S5 Pro will come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor and will have 6GB of RAM. Its benchmark scores are 1337 and 4928 points for the single-core and multi-core score respectively.

It turns out that a device with the same model number as above already got its TENAA certification. Thankfully, the TENAA listing reveals all the specs of the device and also includes images.

The Lenovo S5 Pro will have a 6.18-inch display with a 2246 x 1080 resolution. This is a much bigger screen than the S5’s 5.7” screen. The resolution is the same as that of the Motorola P30, so it is safe to say the S5 Pro will have a notch.

TENAA says the phone is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core processor and will come with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of expandable storage. Just like its sibling, the Lenovo S5 Pro will come with dual rear cameras – one is a 20MP sensor and the other is a 12MP sensor. However, the sensors are arranged vertically on the phone.

Lenovo has also added an extra sensor to the front of the phone, so the S5 Pro gets a 20MP + 8MP combination for selfies. The 8MP camera is likely for capturing depth details. TENAA says the phone will have a 3500mAh battery and will come in black, red, gold, silver, and white.

The images on TENAA are of the black variant. The front is covered in glass and the back is made of metal, however, there are no visible antenna lines. The images reveal the phone will have its fingerprint scanner on the back. The power button and volume rocker are on the right and the SIM tray sits on the left.

Lenovo S5 Pro is an upgraded version of the Lenovo S5 which was released in the first half of 2018. It is scheduled to launch on October 18 with dual cameras on the front and the rear side of the device. Further, it is expected to carry Snapdragon 636 SoC with a full-screen and notch-less display. Lenovo may soon launch its much-anticipated slider phone which would be called S5 Pro. A date has not been revealed for the official launch but Lenovo’s VP Chang Cheng who has been the source of most of the leaked details about the device has shared some more details about the device. This time around it is the camera samples of the device.

The device will come with two cameras at the rear and from the watermark on the samples, the camera will have artificial intelligence. The samples were shot using the super 2X optical zoom feature. We don’t know the configuration of the camera but for photos shot using 2x zoom, the pictures are quite stunning and come out with vivid clarity. The photos are not in anyway blurred and there is no photographic noise. The photos also preserve the details of the scenes captured, even when visibility is poor. From these samples, we can get an idea of how stunning the S5 Pro camera samples would be without any zoom. We should point out that Mr Cheng shared a teaser suggesting a four-camera setup will be on the device but that may just be another hype.

If you are familiar with Weibo, you should know the social media site usually reveals the name of the phone used to make a post. We discovered that the phone used by Lenovo’s VP, Chang Cheng, to post the teaser for the phone with four rear cameras launching next month is the Lenovo S5 Pro.

This is the only proof of the Lenovo S5 Pro’s existence at the moment and we totally have no idea of what it looks like or what its specs are.

The Lenovo S5 has a 5.7-inch FHD+ display, a Snapdragon 625 processor, up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It also has dual 13MP rear cameras, a 16MP front-facing camera, and packs a 3,000mAh battery. We expect the S5 Pro to have a more powerful processor, a bigger battery, and maybe better cameras but not necessarily a bigger display.

With respect to the S5 Pro’s processor, we do not think Lenovo will go with the Snapdragon 636 or higher since the Lenovo Z5 already has a Snapdragon 636 chipset. We are guessing it will come with MediaTek’s Helio P60 chipset which is a significant upgrade when compared to the Snapdragon 625 and closer to the Snapdragon 636 in performance.
