Lenovo has officially teased the launch of the new ThinkBook X AI 2024 in China. The new notebook is the company’s latest thin and light model, which it claims is the world’s first stainless magnesium alloy laptop. Lenovo ThinkBook X AI 2024 Launch Teaser

The Chinese PC maker just shared a teaser that confirms that the ThinkBook X AI 2024 will launch in the region soon. It sports a 13.5-inch display that offers a 2.8K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the laptop is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, which is paired with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB of internal storage.

Thanks to its stainless magnesium alloy design, it weighs just 1 kilogram in weight and measures an ultra thin 12.9mm body. A large 74Whr battery pack powers the Lenovo ThinkBook X AI 2024 that promises to offer 21 hours of continuous video playback. Connectivity options include 3 Thunderbolt 4 interfaces and a 3.5mm audio jack. The notebook also houses a quad Harman Kardon speaker setup.

This model is expected to run on the Windows 11 operating system. Lenovo ThinkBook KB Pro mechanical keyboard launched in China with 83 keys

The ThinkBook lineup from Lenovo offers a range of business oriented products like computers and laptops. And now, the company has also launched a new accessory product, which is the new ThinkBook BK Pro mechanical keyboard in the Chinese market.

Lenovo ThinkBook KB Pro Mechanical Keyboard features hot swappable keys

The Chinese PC maker feature an 83 keys design that is built using PBT materials. The new keyboard also arrives with hot swappable keys. It even supports wireless connectivity in two modes, including a 2.4G wireless and Bluetooth connection. Although, users can also use this keyboard in a wired mode as well. For the wireless connection, the ThinkBook KB Pro houses a large 2,400mAh battery pack that enables it to offer around a week long battery life with backlight turned on. Notably, the latest launch also arrives after the ThinkBook Plus Twist notebook model was leaked earlier this week.

One of the more unique aspects regarding this keyboard is undoubtedly its quirky design with rounded keys that feature a multi color tone. It arrives in two major variants, including a gray and pink color option for its base. Meanwhile, the keys in the product arrive in colors like blue, yellow, red, and more. The new Lenovo ThinkBook KB Pro mechanical keyboard will go on pre-orders on 9th June 2023 and will have a price tag of 699 Yuan (roughly 98 US Dollars). Other notable features include, 10W charging support, 725 grams in weight, and 310 x 143 x 19.8mm dimensions.

As more and more ultrabooks are launched in China bearing Intel’s latest 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, it was about time for laptop manufacturers to bring their Intel 12th Gen laptops to the global market.

After months of waiting, today, Lenovo has finally taken the initiative to launch its first Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake ultrabook in the global market, the Lenovo Thinkbook 14 Gen 4+. The Lenovo Thinkbook 14 Gen 4+ was officially announced in Malaysia today and is now available for purchase starting from only RM4239 (999 USD).

If the design of the ultrabook looks familiar, then your instinct serves you correct as this laptop was actually launched in China earlier in March 2022 bearing the model name, Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ instead. However, the global variant(Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+) has more customisation options compared to the China variant.

Let’s start with the processors under the hood. Compared to the 2 options available on the China variant, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is configurable with 6 Intel 12th Gen CPU options, namely the Core i5-1235U (15W), i5-1240P (28W), i5-12500H (45W), i7-1255U (15W), i7-1260P (28W), and the i7-12700H (45W).

To facilitate a more efficient work environment, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is also equipped with the latest LDDR5 RAM(8GB/16GB/32GB options) and with optional WiFi 6E support to keep your workflow smooth and fast. The ultrabook is also configurable to include an RTX 2050 graphics card onboard for those who want to do gaming in their free time.

Moving onto the screen, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is a noticeable upgrade from its predecessor as it can now be equipped with a 14 inch 16:10, up to 400 nits, 90Hz, 100% sRGB, 2.8K (2880 × 1800) IPS Display. As for the front-facing webcam, users now have the option to opt for a 1080p webcam for better video calls as well.

As for the battery, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is equipped with 47Wh and 62Wh battery options for buyers to select. The laptop supports up to 100W USB-C fast charging and comes with Windows 11 Home preinstalled on the device.

Last but not least is the build. Lenovo claims the ultrabook is easily portable as it starts at just 1.50kg and is 15.9mm thin. On the durability front, buyers will be glad to know that the ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ features solid and robust aluminium build. The laptop is equipped with dual fans and support for Intelligent cooling to help prevent the laptop from overheating.

Despite its relatively thin and light chassis, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ includes a wide variety of port selections which include one USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (full-function: USB/DP/PD), two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI 2.0 port, one RJ45 port, a 3-in-1 Micro SD card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Geekbench Scores Leaked for Lenovo’s Upcoming Ultrabook, Sporting a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 Under the Hood

Intel announced its 12th Gen Alder Lake Mobile Processors back in January during CES 2022, and this year, Intel has the confidence to compete with AMD in the laptop chip market with its 45W H-series for gaming laptops, 28W P-series for premium thin and light ultrabooks, and 15W U-series for the user who needs the power to go a full day on a single charge.

As of current, we are only seeing the H-series processors in the market in devices such as the Lenovo Legion 5i and Legion 5i Pro 2022 refresh and the Asus Tianxuan 3 gaming laptop available in China. However, a new benchmark in Geekbench 5 indicates that Lenovo is currently testing out the Alder Lake 12th Gen Intel Core Mobile processors on its upcoming premium thin and light ultrabook.

Geekbench 5 scores for Lenovo’s Upcoming Ultrabook

The Geekbench 5 listing shows that the Lenovo device model is codenamed “LENOVO 4810RD0100” and it is sporting an Intel Core i7-1280P Alder Lake processor under the hood. Equipped with 32GB of LPDDR5 2593MHz of RAM, the device has scored 1784 in single-core tests, and 9790 in multi-core tests. These results are astonishing, as this 12th Gen Alder Lake 28W Core i7 P-series mobile processor managed to exceed the scores of last year’s core i9-11980HK found in gaming laptops.

As for the details of the Intel Core i7-1280P chip, it has a total of 14 cores and 20 threads. 6 of those cores are P-cores(Performance Cores) for heavy workloads and 8 E-cores(Efficiency Cores) for lighter tasks. Each P-core has a base clock of 1.8GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.8GHz, whereas each E-core has a base clock of 1.3GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.6GHz.

The processor also has 24MB of L3 cache, 96EUs of Intel Iris XE Graphics. It runs on 28W of base power and its maxes out at 64W on turbo.

Intel has finally brought out its A-Game (Alder Lake) to laptops this year and we are excited to see how collaborations with its laptop manufacturing partners, Lenovo, Dell and Asus will turn out for users in 2022.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus 2 launched in China, with an E Ink Display and 11th Gen Intel CPU

Lenovo has just launched new laptops within its ThinkBook series earlier today (2nd June 2021). In the lineup, the company announced the new ThinkBook 13x, ThinkBook 14p, ThinkBook 16p, and the ThinkBook Plus 2 along with related products as well.

ThinkBook Plus 2

While the ThinkBook lineup has traditionally been aimed towards office work, the series has since expanded to include content creators and others that require extra performance from their notebooks. The ThinkBook Plus 2 is a thin and light laptop that is built for individuals in the creative field. The new notebook features a 12 inch E Ink display panel, which offers a viewing experience close to paper that makes it suitable for long hours of use.

This laptop offers touch and stylus support, and can even be flipped to be used as a tablet as well. The device offers wireless charging support and weighs just 1.16kgs and is only 13.9mm thick. This laptop also features an Intel chip ranging from an i5 to an i7 processor depending on the configuration one chooses, paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The laptop runs on Windows 10 OS and offers Intel Iris integrated graphics as well.

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo ThinkBook laptop will be available for purchase in China in the arriving days and will be priced between 8,999 Yuan to 10,999 Yuan (roughly 1410 to 1722 US Dollars) depending on the configuration one opts for.
