New details suggest that the Lenovo ZUK Edge will be world’s first smartphone to feature under glass Home button enabled with features like fingerprint reader and support for multiple gestures.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-ZUK-Edge-U-Touch-Home-1.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-111714" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-ZUK-Edge-U-Touch-Home-1.jpg?x10805" alt="Lenovo ZUK Edge U-Touch Home Button" width="600" height="1066" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-ZUK-Edge-U-Touch-Home-1.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-ZUK-Edge-U-Touch-Home-1-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-ZUK-Edge-U-Touch-Home-1-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Lenovo Group Vice President has now confirmed that ZUK Edge will feature an under-glass U-Touch Home button. The U-Touch Home button will not only support usual features like press &amp; fingerprint scanning, but also add new gesture support.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-111713 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-confirms-invisible-under-glass-Home-button-for-Lenovo-ZUK-Edge.png?x10805" alt="lenovo-confirms-invisible-under-glass-home-button-for-lenovo-zuk-edge" width="660" height="205" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-confirms-invisible-under-glass-Home-button-for-Lenovo-ZUK-Edge.png 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Lenovo-confirms-invisible-under-glass-Home-button-for-Lenovo-ZUK-Edge-300x93.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></p>
<p>Through a sliding gesture, users will be able to switch between tasks. This new information on the invisible Home button contradicts the Lenovo ZUK Edge leaked photos that have clearly revealed that it sports a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/15/white-lenovo-zuk-edge-render-leaks-launch/">rectangular shaped physical Home button</a> below the display.  It is likely that a rectangular shaped Home button may be positioned below the display but may be integrated under the front glass.</p>
<p>In the previous week, Lenovo had teased on its Weibo account that the ZUK Edge would be coming with a screen-to-body ratio of 86.4 percent. The company had also announced that would be powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset.</p>

<h3>Lenovo ZUK Edge Specs, Pricing</h3>
<p>The <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/14/zuk-edge-will-launch-december-20/">Lenovo ZUK Edge is scheduled for unveiling tomorrow</a>. Leaked specs details suggest that the smartphone would be arriving with a 5.5-inch full HD screen flanked with super slim bezels. Its SD 821 processor is expected to be coupled with 6GB of RAM.</p>
<p>Other features of ZUK edge include 64 GB native storage, 13-megapiel and 8-megapixel rear and front cameras, Android 7.0 Nougat OS, USB Type-C and a fast charging enabled 3,000 mAh battery.</p>
<p>Previous leaks have suggested the Lenovo ZUK Edge with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage would be costing CNY 2999 ($431). The 4 GB RAM variant with 64 GB storage would be costing CNY 3299 ($475). Its 6 GB RAM model should be coming with 128 GB of storage and it will be priced at CNY  3699 ($533).</p>

Leaked photos and initial rumors indicate that it is a high-end flagship phone with a higher screen-to-body ratio.</p>
<p>In this morning, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lenovo/" target="_blank">Lenovo </a>confirmed through its Weibo account that the ZUK Edge will deliver a screen-to-body ratio of 86.4 percent. It is less than the 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio that Xiaomi has been marketing for its concept phone, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix/" target="_blank">Xiaomi Mi Mix</a>.</p>
<p>It is interesting to note that GSM Arena’s review on Mi Mix revealed that its actual screen-to-body is ratio is around 84.7 percent. The publication calculated the ratio by dividing the surface area of the phone by the surface area of its screen.</p>

<p>Has Lenovo ZUK Edge managed to pip Xiaomi Mi Mix over screen-to-body ratio? It can be only confirmed after the ZUK Edge release date.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/12/15/white-lenovo-zuk-edge-render-leaks-launch/" target="_blank">leaked renders of the ZUK Edge smartphone</a> suggest that’s its large display is surrounded by super slim bezels. To be precise, even the top and bottom bezels are quite thin. It features a rectangular Home button below the display that houses the fingerprint reader.</p>

<p>The ZUK Edge, it could be recalled, was initially thought to be unveiled on December 7 but that didn&#8217;t happen and now a new poster pointing at a December 20 launch was spotted online. The Edge looks very much like the Xiaomi Mi Mix and could be termed Lenovo&#8217;s response to Xiaomi&#8217;s concept phone. It utilizes a design that sees the display occupying almost the entire screen. There are also ultra-narrow bezels at the sides.</p>

Now another set of renders of the device have leaked online showing once again the front view of the white colored variant, this time around while being charged.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-5/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-110741" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge.jpg?x10805" alt="lenovo ZUK Edge" width="610" height="1084" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>The renders are similar to the previous ones which had featured in earlier leaks. The front physical home button still lies under the display and that is also rumored to have embedded under it a non-aperture fingerprint sensor. We are still short of renders of the back view of the device but the Edge&#8217;s appearance on TENAA did give us a glimpse of that.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-2-3/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-110742" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-2.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk-edge-2" width="610" height="813" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-2-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left">The Lenovo ZUK Edge should launch any moment from now considering December 7 has come and gone. Whenever it does launch, the device will likely feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor backed by 4GB of RAM. There will also be 64GB of internal storage as well as 3,000mAh built-in battery with fast charging support onboard the flagship. In addition, the device is touted to come with USB Type-C interface, an 8MP front camera, 13MP rear camera and many other cool features.</p>

<p>The ZUK Edge is also revealed with a likely price tag of 2,699 Yuan when it launches but all these will be confirmed when it is officially unveiled. For now, we don&#8217;t have any idea when the sleek device will be launched.</p>

The VP today shared yet another teaser containing the black variant that again reveals the Lenovo ZUK Edge will officially go on sale starting from Wednesday, December 7, 2016, on Jingdong (JD.com). He had earlier shared a similar teaser containing the white version.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/lenovo-zuk-edge-official/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-109724" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/lenovo-zuk-edge-official.jpg?x10805" alt="lenovo zuk edge" width="1024" height="1820" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/lenovo-zuk-edge-official.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/lenovo-zuk-edge-official-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/lenovo-zuk-edge-official-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/lenovo-zuk-edge-official-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>From all indications, there won&#8217;t be an official press conference where the ZUK Edge would be unveiled but rather the sleek device would be released directly via e-commerce website Jingdong in China. There is no price tag attached to the device just yet but it is believed that when it is launched, a price tag will be ascribed to it. One unique thing to note from the teased image announcing the device is that the black version looks like the Galaxy Note 7 in design and sleek looks. That isn&#8217;t very obvious, though.</p>

<p>As a reminder, the Lenovo ZUK Edge will launch with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. It will also join the ranks of Huawei’s Mate 9 to be one of the few Chinese phones launching with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. In adition, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/lenovo-zuk-edge/">ZUK Edge</a> will have a 13MP primary camera on the back, and an 8MP sensor in front for selfies. Not that this is the first we&#8217;ll be seeing but this new render leaked via <a href="http://www.slashleaks.com/l/zuk-edge-press-render-specs-price" target="_blank">Slashleaks</a> is an high-definition image of the front view of the ZUK Edge. Indeed it shows all the front features and design clearly as opposed to previous renders.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-render/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-109536" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-render.jpg?x10805" alt="lenovo zuk edge" width="600" height="690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-render.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-render-261x300.jpg 261w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<div>
<p class="poDtl__tle">The render reveals once again the design of the device, with a large display occupying about 90% of the screen and very narrow bezels at the edges. There is a home button, though, just under the display. The home button is touted as housing the fingerprint sensor which is said to be a non-aperture sensor in that it might be under the glass and would be flat.</p>
<p class="poDtl__tle"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-render2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-109537" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-render2.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk edge" width="610" height="407" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-render2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/zuk-edge-render2-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p class="poDtl__tle">The leak also reveals the Lenovo ZUK Edge would sport a 5.5-inch 1080 pixels display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset which would be backed by 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a 3000mAh built-in battery on the device with support for fast charging technology and a USB Type-C interface. Further, the ZUK Edge is listed as packing a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The device is also given a dimension of 142.9 x 74.5 x 7.68 mm and weight of 160 g.</p>

Again, images of the white colored version of the Edge have also leaked online showing the device without the protective casing that prevented us from seeing the rear aspect properly on the black version.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/lenovo-zuk-edge2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108555" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge2.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk edge" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge2-225x300.jpg 225w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Indeed the device bears semblance with the Xiaomi Mix with the display occupying almost 90% of the entire screen. The device comes with a similar concept design with very thin bezels at the sides. Whatever is being used at the front like the home button cum fingerprint scanner is pushed to both the upper and lower extremes<span class="notranslate">. But for little differences, the design is said to resemble the Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro also in looks.</span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/lenovo-zuk-edge-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108554" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk edge" width="600" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/lenovo-zuk-edge-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>From the enders, the ZUK Edge doesn&#8217;t seem to have a curved display but a flat one. The device has been revealed by Lenovo&#8217;s VP as launching sometime next week. We are still waiting for official words on the exact date for the launch.</p>

The device wasa recently spotted on<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/20/lenovo-zuk-edge-visits-antutu-scores-160000-snapdragon-821/"> AnTuTu</a> where it was revealed to have the Snapdragon 821 chip onboard. Images of the sleek and stunning looking device had appeared online before now, revealing its unique design. Again, renders of the device has leaked right from the doorstep of Lenovo&#8217;s vice-President on <a href="http://weibo.com/ideamagic?profile_ftype=1&amp;is_all=1#_rnd1480305046552" target="_blank">Weibo</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-2-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108475" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-2.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk edge" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-2-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The images further reveal the ZUK Edge&#8217;s design captured from both the front and back sides of the device. The most stunning feature should be the ultra thin bezels at the sides of the display which make the device looks like the Xiaomi Mi Mix concept phone. That is because the device is composed almost entirely of the display at the front as a result of the tiny bezels. There is a physical home button up front, though, which also functions as a fingerprint sensor. The flagship device also has a front camera at the top.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-4/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108477" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-4.jpg?x10805" alt="lenovo zuk edge" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-4.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-4-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-4-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>There is no doubt this is the real device as the paper box casing bears the name of the device. The box casing comes in the same black color as the device but we had earlier seen the white colored variant. The ZUK Edge also seem to come with a protective casing which is likely because of the large display that may be prone to damage easily.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-3/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108474" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk-edge" width="588" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge.jpg 588w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-300x224.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px" /></a></p>
<p>The vice-President of Lenovo Group, apart from gifting us these stunning renders, also hinted that the device would be officially released next week. The ZUK Edge comes packing a 2.35GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip with Adreno 530 GPU, and back by 6GB of RAM. There is also 64GB of internal storage on the device that would run on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/zuk-edge-3-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108476" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-3.jpg?x10805" alt="zuk-edge-3" width="589" height="501" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-3.jpg 589w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-3-300x255.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/zuk-edge-3-95x80.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px" /></a></p>

<p>Further, the device is said to feature a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution (1980 x 1080 pixels) and at the rear there is a 13MP camera. While there is an 8MP front-facing camera.</p>
