LeTV CEO has been revealing a lot about the upcoming LeTV 2 flagship smartphone that is scheduled to debut at the company’s October 27 event. The first teaser of the event revealed that the company was directly competing with the Apple’s iPhone series. Now a series of new teasers have revealed more details about the upcoming device, most of which takes a dig at Apple’s iPhone series.

The first teaser boasts of the new fingerprint sensor on the LeTV 2 model. The image says that the LeTV 2’s fingerprint sensor will be better than Apple’s Touch ID. You can check out the teaser from down below.

Even in the camera department, the new LeTV model is supposedly better than the iPhone series, specifically the iPhone 6S. The teaser says that the upcoming LeTV phone will feature superior camera for faster shooting and better low light pictures as compared to the iPhone 6S.

Finally, the third teaser compares the Retina display on the iPhones to the better display on the LeTV 2. The teaser states that 1080p display has become standard on flagships, with Apple’s Retina display still considered as one of the best. But LeTV will take things to a better level with its display which we are expecting to be 2K. Remember the giant LeTV Max with 2K display and sapphire glass? Well, this new model could take some specs from the Max model.

As the CEO is counting down the day until the launch event with new features revealed everyday, we can expect something about its processor in the next one week. Rumors have said that the phone will feature the new Snapdragon 820 chipset, but we still need confirmation from the company. So, we better wait for more such teasers in the coming days.

Like expected, LeTV announced the LeTV Max Pink & Gold Special Editions in an event today. The company had teased us earlier with a couple of pictures, along with the tagline, “will give you some more colors to see”. This along with a recent leak had kind of confirmed the launch today.

In addition to the special colors, both the editions will feature sapphire glass screen. Yes, the same sapphire glass which is often regarded as one of the toughest glass in the market right now. Instead of just a portion of the body (like camera glass), it will cover the entire display, protecting it from scratches and other abrasion. The glass also has excellent light transmission quality, which means you can expect a clear and vibrant display on the device.

The Pink Edition is particularly special because of the additional CNC machining, hundreds of color toning and a lot other processing to finally achieve the expected finish. That is why, the Pink version is slightly costlier than the gold version. While the LeTV Max Gold edition will retail for 5888 Yuan ($924), the Pink version will cost as much as 6188 Yuan, ($972). As you can see, these phones are costly even for the premium segment.

As for the specs, both the models will feature 6.33-inch display with 2K resolution. Under the hood, there will be Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit chip with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Up front, there’s a 4MP Ultrapixel camera while at the back, there’s a 21MP shooter. The phone comes with 3400mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 with LeTV’s EUI on top. Along with these powerful specs, for the above price you get a lot of VIP feature like additional security features, TV subscriptions, VIP hotline, special luxury package and so on.

Like all special edition versions, the available units will be limited, only 10,000 units will be available for sale globally. The company is yet to announce a specific launch date for the device, but stay tuned for more details.

Judging from the statement, we can assume that the company will most likely unveil a special limited edition version of its devices at the event. The new leak, which comes via Weibo shows a pink colored LeTV smartphone. From the image, it looks like the LeTV Max smartphone that was announced in April. So, the coming Monday, i.e. September 7, we might see the Pink colored version of the LeTV Max. This edition would be ideal for women who would like a premium phablet experience in a pretty color like pink. It is said that the phone will support all the three major carries in China.

Apart from the pink colored version, we might see a number of other editions too targeted at different users, because it doesn’t make sense to keep a special conference just to unveil one particular limited edition model. Some say that we may also see a special announcement, which could be for a new phone. Remember, a few weeks back, LeTV Hong Kong Facebook Page released a teaser about an upcoming Snapdragon 820 powered LeTV smartphone? Well, we could possibly hear more about this phone at the event. Since the launch of the three new models in the LeTV One series, we haven’t heard much from the company. The only exciting thing that happened recently was a teaser which revealed that the next LeTV flagship will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. Unlike other Chinese manufacturers who soon jump into the accessories market for their flagships, LeTV is a bit late to the party. However, the company recently listed its 13,400mAh power bank on the famous Chinese retailer JD.com for crowd sourcing.

The specs of the LeTV Power Bank are quite impressive. It comes with 4 LG/ Panasonic high density 3350mAh capacity batteries that take the total capacity 13,400mAh. There will two USB output ports with a maximum output power up to 20W. The highlight of the LeTV Power Bank is that its supports bi-directional Quick Charge QC 2.0 specification. This means, you can charge the power bank at high speed as well as charge your smartphone at high speed.

The bi-directional QC2.0 supports fast charge at 9V/ 2A or 12V/ 1.5A. It is said that it takes only about 4.5 hours to completely charge the 13,400mAh power bank to its full capacity, using a QC 2.0 charger. Also, when charging other devices, if it supports QC 2.0, then you can charge about 55% of the phone’s capacity within 30 minutes. In case you are wondering, Nexus 6 and Mi Note support QC 2.0.

The company has even given reference to the capacity of the power bank. You can charge the iPhone 6 4.5 times, the LeTV Max 2.5 times and the iPad Mini 2 times with this 13,400mAh capacity power bank.

The company has not revealed the official price tag of the LeTV Power Bank, but expect it to retail between 100 Yuan and 150 Yuan.

A few days back, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun criticized LeTV’s claim that their smartphones were bezelless. In reality, the phone did have super thin black borders which is why Mr. Lei joked on Weibo that if thin black borders equals to bezelless display, then even the Xiaomi Mi Note is bezelless.

However, it looks like LeTV COO is not happy with Lei’s comments. Earlier today, COO Liang Jun took to Weibo to explain that LeTV has used full suspension glass design to make sure that there are hardly any bezels on the display. In fact, he says that the company has managed to reduce the bezels to just 1.6mm in thickness, which is way thinner than Xiaomi Mi Note.

To make things clear, he also posted an image on his account comparing the bezels of both the smartphones. In the picture, you can see that the LeTV Max features a super thin 1.6mm bezels, while the Xiaomi Mi Note bezels size is almost double, i.e. 3.1mm. Alongside the picture he also invited (tagged him) in the post to see the real product comparison.

He further added, “We have the courage to challenge the limits, the future will continue to pursue show more narrow black border, until no display side face of challenge, we speak with the facts, who can find the super phone before publishing, display side than the world total. Le Max narrowest show narrower edge of 2K genuine phone, we award one million dollars! “
