LeTV made a comeback in China last year. Since then, the company has announced multiple products spread across different categories like smart TV, smartphone, wearable, accessory, and more. However, none of these products are intriguing. The company plans to change this with a launch of a new smartphone.

According to ITHome, LeTV recently held a media conference. At the event, the company announced certain future plans. One of them involves a phone.

The firm revealed that it is working on a new smartphone. This handset will be powered by a mid to high-end MediaTek chipset. It will flaunt a 2K curved display. Hence, it could be a premium device.

Apart from the chip and display details, the company also disclosed that the phone will sport a 64MP main camera and leather back finish. Last but not least, it will house a 5,000mAh battery.

These specs sound way better than what LeTV offers on its current handsets. For the unaware, the company currently sells three smartphones in its home country, namely LeTV S1, LeTV Y1 Pro, and LeTV Y2 Pro.

The S1 is just another budget smartphone. Whereas, the Y1 Pro and Y2 Pro are cheap knock-offs of iPhone 13 and iPhone Pro, respectively.

All three handsets are powered by Unisoc chipsets. They are limited to 4G connectivity and ship with HMS (Huawei Mobile Services).

Earlier this year, in the month of May, announced the return of LeTV Smart Ecology for its products, including Smart TVs and smartphones in the market. While the company hasn’t launched a new device, it has now shared live images of a smartphone.

The company has shared live images of an unnamed smartphone on its official Weibo account, without revealing any details related to the device.

The image shows that the smartphone features a waterdrop notch on top of the screen for housing the front-facing camera sensor. The chin below the display panel is a bit thicker, indicating that the phone’s design isn’t new and it may have been designed sometime back.

On the backside, the phone carries LeTV branding towards the bottom and at the top-center position, there’s a circular camera module, another hint regarding the phone’s design being made a couple of years back.

A smartphone from the company, named LeTV L5 has been spotted on TENAA, indicating that the device could soon be officially launched in China. The listing reveals that it features a 6.528-inch HD+ display offering a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels.

It’s likely to come in two memory variants — 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage. The triple-camera setup on the back consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors. On the front side, it features an 8-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The listing hints that the smartphone is running the Android 9 operating system out-of-the-box and is powered by a 4,900mAh battery. More details about the phone’s specifications remain a mystery. As of now, the company has not yet announced a launch date but given that it has passed TENAA certification, the smartphone could get launched soon in China.

After announcing the three powerful smartphones back in April, LeTV’s smartphone department has been quite for the past few months. But last week, the company announced a premium version of its 6-inch LeTV Max version, with gold and pink color options and sapphire glass display. This particular version goes on sale today for an expensive price tag of 5888 Yuan.

LeTV Hong Kong had teased a new smartphone with Snapdragon 820 under the hood via its official Facebook page some weeks back. Unfortunately, till now the company has not revealed any more details. However, earlier today, we came across a new leak which claims to be the back panel of the upcoming second generation LeTV handset.

This is a much different design from the earlier generation models. The camera is located in the top right corner along with the LED flash and the microphone opening. Like we saw in the LeTV Max, the fingerprint sensor is at the center of the back panel. What’s even more interesting is that the panel doesn’t look like metal. From the pictures, it looks like plastic, so it could be a double glass design. Often companies that don’t use metal on their flagships go with double glass design. But it would be disappointing if LeTV uses such a double glass body, as the LeTV models were particularly known for their beautiful metal body design.

While the company is yet to officially confirm the existence of a second generation model, the earlier teaser from LeTV Hong Kong could hint that the new model will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset. And if this is the case, we would like to see the new Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 on the handset that can charge from 0-80% in just 35 minutes.

Anyways, as always, we would advise you to take this news with a pinch of salt. We are not yet sure whether this is the actual rear panel of an upcoming LeTV model. So, lets wait for some more concrete information, before getting too disappointed.

LeTV is all set to enter the crowded smartphone industry with at least two new high-end devices. We have already seen the specs of both the LeTV X900 and X600 models and they are top notch. However, even with such great specs, the highlight of both the devices is going to be its beautiful design.

We have seen a number of leaks of the bezel-less design on the new LeTV phone and today, some folks from Weibo decided to make the complete renders of the upcoming LeTV smartphones from the information received till now.

Previous leaks have shown us a device with almost no bezels on the sides. And this is exactly what we see in these render images. Of course, there are bezels on the top and the bottom but they are acceptable. Overall, the renders of the phone turn out to be one of the best designs we have seen in a while.

However, before you get too excited, remember that these are just renders and we will have to see the final product at the launch (probably in April) before we can truly confirm that the LeTV phone is bezel-less.

Like mentioned above, the specs of both the models were leaked a day before. The LeTV X900 is said to come with a Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB RAM and 2K display. At the back, the phone is said to feature a 20.7MP camera while up front, there’s a 4MP Ultrapixel shooter.

As for the X600, the device will be powered by the 64-bit octa-core MT6795 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 5.5-inch 1080p display. The rear camera will be of 13MP while the front cam will be of 8MP.

If the real LeTV smartphone looks anything like these renders, then we are definitely in for a treat. Its better than most of the smartphone designs that we have seen lately and the powerful specs further ensure that it attracts power users.

Earlier this year, we came to know that LeTV, one of the top video content providers in China was working on a new smartphone. Later we realized that the company may have three new devices in the pipeline all targeted at different users. The three models were expected to be priced as follows: 999 Yuan, 1999 Yuan and 2999 Yuan and the specs and the body differed according to their pricing.

The LeTV X600 model has been spotted a number of times, on TENAA as well as AnTuTu. Now, a new set of images of the LeTV device were leaked by the well known leakster, Ubuntu Team. From the images, it looks like this could be the LeTV X600 that’s been making the rounds online.

The pictures that were listed on TENAA look a lot similar to the ones leaked today. On TENAA, the device had a model number LeTV X600 and featured an octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter. The device had a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display with overall dimension of 147.8 x 74.2 x 9.4mm, making it shorter and even narrower than the iPhone 6 Plus (not thinner though!).

So, it looks like the white version of the LeTV X600 model was leaked today. The device sports a very premium design with curved edges and almost bezel-less display. However, it looks like the black display borders are responsible for this effect and even though we can’t clearly see it, there is a thin border at the sides.

The back cover could be made from polycarbonate material or even shiny plastic like the iPhone 5C. There is a round sensor on the top, most likely the rumored 13MP unit along with dual LED flash and the Letv logo in the middle.

It is still not clear when the company will officially announce the new smartphones, but since we are seeing almost finished models, its likely that the announcement will be made pretty soon.
