Earlier this month LG revealed the phone, along with some other models, will get updated to Android Pie by the end of June. Reports say the update is already rolling out to the V35 ThinQ in LG’s home country.

The update is rolling out as an OTA but users can also get the update using LG Bridge and LGUP. The software version is V350N20C according to the source. Unfortunately, there is no changelog, so we have no idea what new features the phone will be getting and if there are bug fixes and a new security patch.

Since the update is already rolling out in Korea, other regions should get it in the coming weeks.

The LG V35 ThinQ has a 6.0-inch P-OLED display with a 1440 x 2880 resolution and is covered with Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by the Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of expandable storage.

The V35 has dual 16MP rear cameras, one is a standard lens while the other is an ultrawide lens. You also get an 8MP selfie camera. The phone has an audio jack, DTS: X surround sound and is Bang&Olufsen Play certified. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. The V35 ThinQ packs a 3,300mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 and 10W wireless charging.

For a phone launching two months after Android Pie was released, it wasn’t acceptable for a flagship. Manufacturers like Huawei was also going to launch its own flagship around that period with Android Pie pre-installed.

Eight months after the release of Android Pie and six months after the release of the LG V40 ThinQ, LG is yet to update the device to Android Pie. Yesterday, the Korean company revealed the update schedule for the phone and other V series phones such as the V30, V30S ThinQ, and the V35 ThinQ.

According to the source, the four phones will get the Android Pie update by the end of June, ten months after Android Pie was released.

At the moment, the LG G7 One and the LG G7 ThinQ are the only two LG Phones that have been updated to Android Pie. The former got it first because it is an Android One phone.

READ MORE: LG K12+ launched with a dedicated Google Assistant button, Helio P22 & more

LG really needs to improve on how quickly it updates its devices. If flagships are getting updates several months after their release, when will mid-range and entry-level phones get the update?

After launching the LG V30S ThinQ at MWC this year and following it with the G7 ThinQ earlier this month, LG has announced yet another flagship – the LG V35 ThinQ.

Releasing three flagships phones in 5 months doesn’t seem to be the right way to go if you say you plan to launch phones “when it is needed”. Nevertheless, if you are undecided about LG’s other two flagships, then you should read on and see if the V35 ThinQ ticks your boxes.

LG V35 ThinQ Design

When it comes to design, the V35 ThinQ shares a striking resemblance to the V30S ThinQ. There really isn’t any physical difference that sets them apart. You could simply say the V35 ThinQ is the V30S ThinQ with a Snapdragon 845 processor.

LG V35 ThinQ Specs

The V35 ThinQ has a 6-inch OLED QHD+ display with HDR. If you hate the notch on the LG G7 ThinQ, it is missing here. If you like it….. Since this is available on AT&T, this should be great for the network’s DirecTV service.

Inside the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 mobile platform and it is paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. There are two 16MP cameras on the rear. One is a super wide-angle sensor with a f/1.9 aperture, and the other is a standard sensor with a f/1.6 aperture. At the top left corner of the display is an 8MP wide-angle selfie camera.

The LG V35 ThinQ has AI features baked into its camera software. So you get all the AI features of the other two flagships such as scene recognition, Google Lens, and Super Bright Camera mode.

The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo, has a Hi-Fi Quad DAC, 3D surround sound, face recognition, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, wireless charging support, and an IP68 rating. It is also MIL-STD 810G compliant. It draws juice from a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

LG V35 ThinQ Price and Availability

The V35 ThinQ will be available in North America as an AT&T exclusive. It will also be sold through Google’s Project Fi network. It is expected to go on sale this summer.

AT&T is asking for $30/month for 30 months which brings it to $900 while Project Fi users will have to pay $899 or $37.46/month. The phone will be available in gray and black.

We have now spotted the source of the image and that is the website of the Wireless Power Consortium. The LG V35 ThinQ has been listed on the website with the picture accompanying the device.

We give credit to popular tipster Evan Blass who brought the WPC’s listing to the open. The device comes with the model number LM-V350EM and was registered on May 24.

According to reports, LG V35 ThinQ will sport a 6-inch IPS display with a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. Among the internal components, there will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The main camera will be a dual setup with resolutions of 16 MP, a f/1.6 aperture and a secondary wide-angle sensor (up to 107 degrees), while the front camera is expected to be an 8 MP single snapper. LG V35 ThinQ, as the name suggests, will support artificial intelligence just like the G7 ThinQ and the V30S.

It will have Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and it should sport a 3000 mAh battery. It should also come with Hi-Fi stereo speakers and a Quad DAC. The design of LG V35 ThinQ will be composed of a glass back and an aluminum frame, probably with the IP68 certification for water-resistance. The device should launch as early as next month.

A new live photo of the upcoming flagship has just surfaced and it shows us the whole front panel of the device confirming the previous leaks. The display appears to be similar to the Infinity Display of Samsung Galaxy S9, with narrow bezels, curved sides, and no notch. Volume buttons are placed on the left side, while no power button is noticeable from the photo, and this makes us think that the fingerprint reader on the rear side will double as power key.

According to reports, LG V35 ThinQ will sport a 6-inch IPS display with a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels. It will surely be one of the best IPS panels. The specs and render already leaked weeks ago but now the device has started receiving certifications.

The LG V35 was spotted on the site of the Russian equivalent of the FCC as the LG LM-V350EAW and also on the FCC website as the LG LM-V350EM) Both sites don’t reveal much but mention the device runs Android 8.0 Oreo and has support for dual-band Wi-Fi.

[envira-gallery id=”190465″]

There is a reason why the LG V35 ThinQ is in the news so early. According to unconfirmed reports, the device may launch soon just before another flagship scheduled for later in the year. That other device is called the LG V40 ThinQ A.K.A Storm.

Initially, the V35 was reported to launch same time as the LG G7 ThinQ but as we can see, that didn’t happen. Notwithstanding, It may still launch this month.

Leaked specifications of the LG V35 ThinQ mentions a 6-inch OLED display, a Snapdragon 845 SoC, a 32-bit ESS Sabre 9228 quad DAC, and dual 16MP rear cameras. The rest of the specs are still unknown.

Recently, it was reported that the South Korean company is also working on a smartphone called LG V35 ThinQ. Vital information on the specifications of the V35 ThinQ have already appeared in the recent past. Today, popular tipster Evan Blass has claimed that there will be another V-series smartphone this year and it will be called LG V40. He has also revealed that the V40 phone is codenamed as Storm.

V35 ThinQ (Emma) is arriving around the same time as G7 ThinQ (Neo/Judy), while V40 ThinQ (Storm) is the late summer / early fall flagship. https://t.co/dDLeTYwKEf

— Evan Blass (@evleaks) April 20, 2018

Blass has not revealed any information on the specifications of the LG V40. However, it is speculated that it could be arriving as a successor for the LG V30 phone from last year. The LG V30S ThinQ that was launched in February cannot be dubbed as the successor of V30 as both the phones carry similar specs.

The tipster has stated that the LG V40 will be unveiled by late summer or early fall this year. This suggest that the LG V40 may debut at the end of August or early September probably through IFA 2018 tech trade show in Berlin, Germany.

He is of the view that the LG V35 ThinQ that is codenamed as Emma will debut around the same time as G7 ThinQ. The LG V40 is likely to be packed with flagship specs and it could feature the Snapdragon 845. Hence, the phone may sport an iPhone X-like notched display.

It will be equipped with 16-megapixel dual rear cameras that will bring some AI capabilities. It is also expected to feature 32-bit ESS Sabre 9228 quad DAC. However, there is no information available on its chipset and RAM. Also, the pricing details of the V35 ThinQ are still under the wraps.

The South Korean company was expected to launch LG G7 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo this year. However, instead of launching G-series flagship, it announced the LG V30S ThinQ and LG V30S+ ThinQ smartphones. Recent information reveals that LG’s next flagship will carry LG G7 ThinQ moniker and it will be unveiled on May 2. Newer information revealed by AndroidHeadlines states that LG’s upcoming V-series phone will be called LG V35 ThinQ.

Citing information received through a reliable source that has been crosschecked by LG’s in-house documentation states that the successor for LG V30/V30 Plus and V30S ThinQ / V30S+ ThinQ phones will be indeed called LG V35.

Design

When LG had launched the LG G6 with 18:9 display in 2016, it was marketed as a large-sized display phone designed for one-handed operation. The South Korean company is expected to use the same marketing strategy for the LG V35 ThinQ that will be equipped with an edge-to-edge design. The company will also advertise it as a lightweight device that offers immersive experience. It is expected to hit the market in two colors like Black and Grey with premium glossy finish.

Display

Leaked information reveals that the LG V35 ThinQ won’t be featuring the MLCD+ technology display that is speculated to arrive on the LG G7 ThinQ. Also, it seems that the P-OLED (polymer OLED) display that is available on the LG V30 and V30S smartphones won’t be available on the LG V35 ThinQ as its internal documentation does not contain any information on POLED panel. The handset will be arriving with an 18:9 aspect ratio supporting 6-inch FullVision OLED display that will offer 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. The documents do not suggest that it will have a notched display like G7 ThinQ.

Cameras

The LG G7 ThinQ is expected to come with a pair of 16-megapixel camera sensors. The same dual camera setup is expected to available on the V35 ThinQ. For color capturing, it will include an f/1.6 aperture 16-megapixel primary sensor that is equipped with a glass lens and 10-bit HDR compatibility. It will be coupled with a 16-megapixel secondary wide-angle lens that will offer a field of view of 107 degrees. The camera features like AI Cam, Google Lens, Super Bright Mode and camera related AI tweaks that are available on the G7 ThinQ will be also coming to the V35 ThinQ.

Artificial Intelligence

The LG V35 ThinQ will be a “super-smart device” and the company will be greatly focusing on its AI benefits. AI will allow users to carry out various tasks and do more on the phone by using less time while using voice assistant, camera and other features of the phone.
