Electric scooters are becoming extremely popular these days but we can’t take away the fact that the non-EV market is still a huge one that isn’t going away soon especially for those who have EV range anxiety. Chinese manufacturer Lifan has unveiled its latest compact motorcycle in its home market. It is the KPV150 ADV, an entry-level adventure scooter with modifications to enhance its off-road performance. The Lifan KPV160 ADV scooter is only available in China and it sports several mechanical and accessory upgrades.

The Lifan KPV150 costs 15,280 yuan (~$2,400) and coupled with its impressive specs sheet, the motorbike could compete formidably with the Honda ADV 150, as Lifan remains a very popular Chinese brand with growing home support. Some of the features of the KPV150 ADV scooter are aluminum alloy wheels, tubeless tires, a new tail rack design, and an improved suspension system with a 37mm USD fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear.

The off-road credentials of the KPV150 are further accentuated with its windshield and rugged panels. There is also the LCD instrument cluster, a USB and `12V charging port, engine cutoff button, adjustable handlebars, all combined to yield an impressive motorbike. The KPV150 offers 12 horsepower of energy via its 149.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. With 180mm ground clearance, coupled with its thick dual-sport tires, the KPV150 is well primed for a versatile on- and off-road performance.

While the Lifan KPV150 will be available to customers in China, it is yet unclear, although unlikely, that the model will find its place in other countries. It comes in four color variants namely yellow, white, blue, and grey. It remains to be seen how the Lifan KPV 150 ADV scooter competes with already established competitors in the world’s largest two-wheeler market.
