<p>Back in November 2022, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/08/sony-unveils-new-lytia-branding-for-mobile-image-sensors/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sony had officially unveiled the new LYTIA </a>branding for its new range of image sensors that were built specifically for mobile devices. Now, the company has finally revealed a couple of new image sensors from this new lineup. So here are all the details.</p>

<h4>Sony LYTIA series brings new 50MP image sensors</h4>

<p>Previously, the company offered its IMX series for its latest and most advanced image sensors. And now, it appears to be expanding its image sensor lineup that will be offered to different mobile platforms. Although, it is still unclear if the LYTIA brand will eventually replace the IMX series or simply co-exist alongside it. Sony&#8217;s Semiconductor Solutions unit will launch new sensors that effectively have a 50 megapixel across the lineup. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="506" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-1024x506.png?x10805" alt="Sony" class="wp-image-545503" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-1024x506.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-300x148.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-768x379.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-696x344.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-1068x527.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-851x420.png 851w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors-324x160.png 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Sony_lytia_new_50mp_sensors.png 1519w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The base model is the new LYT500, which has a small 1/2.93 inch sensor with 0.6 micron pixels. On the other hand, the higher end LYT700 is HDR enabled and features a 1/1.56 inch sensor size. The higher end LYT800 is for premium devices and is the first imaging CMOS to support a &#8220;2 layer transistor pixel structure, enabling excellent saturation signal level&#8221;. However, the lineup doesn&#8217;t end there with a flagship sensor dubbed the LYT900 built for top end devices.</p>

<p>This model offers a 1 inch (1/0.98 inches) sensor and will likely make its way to flagship grade smartphones. It is unclear which models will feature these new image sensors, but it will likely be found in models like the next gen Oppo Find X series phone or Xiaomi&#8217;s numbered series&#8217; Ultra grade models. So stick around for more updates.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sony/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sony </a>has just unveiled the new LYTIA branding that will represent its mobile image sensors in the market. The announcement was made by the Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (SSS) recently, which will focus on all future camera sensors.</p>

<p>So now, the Japanese tech giant&#8217;s new sensors will carry the LYTIA branding and will also be promoted and marketed under the same name. Notably, the LYTIA brand name combines two words, which includes Lyra (the constellation) and the word &#8220;light.&#8221; The company has claimed that the new LYTIA branded image sensors are designed to offer a &#8220;beyond imagination&#8221; experience to the users. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Sony" class="wp-image-494337" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand-746x420.jpg 746w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-LYTIA-brand.jpg 1299w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The brand also believes that LYTIA will make it easier for people to understand the sensors themselves. Furthermore, Sony&#8217;s image sensors will be better recognized and positioned in the smartphone market thanks to the new branding. At the moment, the company has yet to reveal any finer details regarding LYTIA&#8217;s future or upcoming plans. So the only thing confirmed as of right now is that it will focus on new mobile image sensors. </p>

<p>The company had typically launched its mobile image sensors under its &#8220;IMX&#8221; branding, which are still featured in flagship smartphones. But now, we can expect there will be some changes in naming in the near future for Sony&#8217;s latest cameras. So stick around for more updates regarding this matter.</p>
