<p>In the <em><a href="https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212877" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">support document</a></em>, the Cupertino based giant stated that a caution symbol will be displayed in the menu bar or display menu in the Control Center of a 2021 MacBook Pro or Apple Pro Display XDR. This alert notifies the users that the display is in low power mode and that the brightness will be limited as well (Via <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2022/02/04/macbook-pro-2022-limited-brightness/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em></a>). The iPhone maker says that this only occurs in a few scenarios. This include, ambient temperature of the room being high or if bright content is displayed on the screen for a long time.</p>
<p>The brand also offered certain solutions for users that are repeatedly seeing the warning pop up. So let&#8217;s have a look:</p>
<ul>
<li>On MacBook Pro with Liquid Retina XDR display, quit any apps that could be consuming significant system resources.</li>
<li>Use the Apple XDR Display or Pro Display XDR reference mode unless your current workflow requires a specific reference mode.</li>
<li>Lower the ambient temperature of the room.</li>
<li>Close or hide any windows with HDR content.</li>
<li>Choose Apple menu  &gt; Sleep to put your Mac to sleep. Let your display cool down for 5-10 minutes, then press any key on the keyboard to wake your Mac.</li>
</ul>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-441529 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1200" height="630" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image-300x158.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image-768x403.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image-696x365.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image-1068x561.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/pro-display-og-image-800x420.jpg 800w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>Apart from these, the company says that simply lowering the room&#8217;s temperature or putting the devices to sleep for a while might help in cooling it down. As per the official support document, users that face this issue regularly despite the ambient temperature of the room being under 25 degree Celsius should contact Apple Support.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/12/06/macbook-pro-sd-card-issue/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>MacRumors</em></a>, a number of users have recently reported facing multiple issues with the card slot. These include, and are not limited to, slow data transfer speeds and some files being inaccessible, among others. The report adds that the issue is a widespread problem that is currently affecting the 14 inch and 16 inch MacBook Pro models that were launched this year. While the issues are related to the SD card reader, there is no consistent issues being shared across a number of device as different users have reported different bugs with new card slot.</p>
<p>One user reported that the SD Card slot on his 14 inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">M1 Pro</a> MacBook Pro notebook takes up to a whole minute just to recognize an SD card. This can even sometimes fail, as per the user, with the MacBook displaying an error. Another user reported that his Finder crashes when his MacBook Pro is trying to read an SD card slot. Some users even tried to fix these issues by formatting the SD card itself, although, this did not resolve the problem. On the other hand, a few users confirmed that the same SD card works when being used with a USB Type C adapter.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Unfortunately, Apple has yet to officially acknowledge that its 2021 MacBook Pro model suffers from issues with this port. In other words, we still don&#8217;t know if the issue is software based, or an issue with the hardware. However, the iPhone maker has apparently told some users that it is &#8220;aware of the issue” and promised to offer a solution via a software update soon. So stick around as we will be providing updates when more information is available regarding this matter.</p>

But one particular spec that has seemingly slipped under the radar of most is the all-new 140W USB-C power adapter that ships with the 2021 Macs. And it actually is a game-changer.</p>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Apple">Apple</a> has opted for the gallium nitride solution to allow the adapter to be smaller than usual. Adoption of the tech is a big move for Apple indeed as other companies like <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a>, etc. have been releasing GaN chargers for a while now. But you see, that&#8217;s not the most significant bit. The limelight has instead been stolen by the USB-C Power Delivery 3.1 compliance, making the MacBook Pro the very first laptop to use the standard (via: <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/19/22734233/apple-140w-macbook-charging-brick-gan-usb-c-pd-3-1-third-party-chargers">The Verge</a>).</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-420333 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-1024x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="apple macbook pro 140w charger" width="696" height="696" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-768x768.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-696x696.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-1068x1068.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/apple-macbook-pro-140w-charger.jpg 1144w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>The standard is in fact so new that USB-C cables that are compliant with it haven&#8217;t even hit the market yet. In other words, not even a USB-C cable is available in the market right now that can carry 140W using the new standard.</p>
<p>Apple’s solution for this was to make a proprietary USB-C to Magsafe adapter for its 140W charger to fill up the MacBook Pros at the magical 140W speed. Once this standard becomes mainstream, the new 140W MacBook Pro charger will be able to charge all other devices that support this standard.</p>
<p>Apple is thus leading the industry when it comes to the new USB-C PD R3.1 standard. And judging from the past, it&#8217;s pretty clear that the rest of the industry will be jumping on to the USB-C PD R3.1 bandwagon as well. Previously, Apple’s adoption of USB-C in the MacBook in 2015 was quickly mimicked by other companies &#8211; like Google for their Chromebooks.</p>
<figure id="attachment_419924" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-419924" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-419924" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-1024x524.png?x44794" alt="MacBook Pro 2021" width="696" height="356" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-1024x524.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-300x154.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-768x393.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-696x356.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-1068x547.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1-820x420.png 820w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/MacBook-Pro-2021-1.png 1459w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-419924" class="wp-caption-text">MacBook Pro 2021</figcaption></figure>
<p>However, things might be different this time around &#8211; it might not just be laptops adopting the new standard but several other electronics too. In conclusion, the new 140W charger isn&#8217;t endemic to the MacBook Pros and can be plugged into other USB-C using electronics as well, such as e-bikes, thus greatly improving its scope.</p>

<p>Alongside the hardware, we might finally hear about macOS Monterey stable &#8211; its first preview went live back on June 7 and it was expected to roll out widely in late-2021.</p>
<p>The list of product launches to expect with the event has been given below along with when and how you can watch it.</p>
<h4><strong>MacBook Pro 2021 models</strong></h4>
<p>While Apple&#8217;s September event focused big on the new iPhone 13 series, this month&#8217;s &#8216;Unleashed&#8217; event is all about the new MacBook Pros. They&#8217;re expected to come with new 14-inch and 16-inch Mini-LED displays with taller 14:9 aspect ratios. A refresh rate of 120Hz is also expected.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-419587 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="macbook pro 2021 renders" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>There are talks about the new MacBooks being powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/18/apple-m1-pro-m1-max-chipset-macbook-pro/">M1 Pro and M1 Max chips</a>, although it&#8217;s only a rumor and Apple might choose to stick with the M1X naming scheme.</p>
<p>Apart from this, the Macs will be sporting <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/16/apple-macbook-pro-14-16-possible-designs-revealed-by-latest-renders/">extremely slim bezels</a> &#8211; so slim that Apple will be doing away with the familiar &#8220;MacBook Pro&#8221; text that usually sits in the bottom bezel.</p>
<p>The MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch models are said to come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.</p>
<h4><strong>New Mac mini</strong></h4>
<p>Apple is apparently working on a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/24/apple-mac-mini-m1x-launch-fall/">more powerful Mac mini</a> that will use the same processor as the upcoming MacBook Pro. It&#8217;ll have four ports instead of the two on the current low-end model, and it&#8217;ll be priced higher than the current entry-level M1 Mac mini. It could be labeled &#8216;Pro&#8217;.</p>
<h4><strong>AirPods 3</strong></h4>
<p>An image of the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/10/14/apple-airpods-3-expected-launch-18-october/">AirPods 3</a> has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/23/apple-airpods-3-appear-in-an-live-image-ahead-of-september-launch/">already leaked online</a>, which reveals the earphones’ design which seems to be inspired by the Pro variant. The earbuds will come with a short stem and a sensor, as well as a microphone on the front.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-377199 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-1024x884.jpg?x44794" alt="Edifier" width="696" height="601" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-1024x884.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-300x259.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-768x663.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-534x462.jpg 534w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-696x601.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-1068x922.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237-486x420.jpg 486w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/20210305_171755_237.jpg 1188w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></p>
<p>Internally, it is also expected to come powered by a new chipset and is said to support Apple Music Lossless Audio. Additionally, the earbuds are expected to come with improved battery life performance compared to the AirPods 2.</p>
<p>There’s also a possibility that the next-generation AirPods may come with support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/anc">Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)</a>.</p>
<p>However, if Apple doesn&#8217;t launch the new AirPods 3 with the event, then we can expect a press release later this month or next month.</p>
<h4><strong>macOS Monterey</strong></h4>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/08/apple-ios-15-ipados-15-watchos-8-macos-monterey-eligible-supported-devices/">latest version of the OS</a> that powers Apple&#8217;s desktop and laptops was announced alongside iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and watchOS 8 at WWDC 2021 in June. But unlike the rest, it hasn&#8217;t yet been released. Its latest preview went live on October 13 but it&#8217;s likely that the new MacBook Pros will be shipped with the new macOS version out-of-the-box.</p>

This one will be Mac-centric and the company is expected to announce at least the MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16.</p>
<figure id="attachment_419591" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-419591" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-419591" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="macbook pro 2021 renders 3" width="696" height="392" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/macbook-pro-2021-renders-3-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-419591" class="wp-caption-text">Image: Apple Unleashed</figcaption></figure>
<p>Sure, we are just a couple of days away from the event, but new leaks and renders are always welcome. <a class="external-link-new-window" href="https://twitter.com/Apple_Tomorrow/status/1448301598799695872" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Apple Tomorrow </a>(via: <a href="https://www.notebookcheck.net/Render-images-show-the-possible-design-of-Apple-s-MacBook-Pro-14-and-MacBook-Pro-16-with-M1X-SoCs-and-mini-LED-displays.572252.0.html">Notebookcheck</a>) has published just those on Twitter and they perhaps provide the clearest look we have had on the new MacBooks to date. The renders are based on the most recent leaks, including that <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/Apple">Apple</a> has switched to taller, 14:9 displays.</p>
<p>While the design of the new laptops is undeniably still very MacBook-ish, there have been a couple of meaningful upgrades. Firstly, the new 14:9 ratios should provide a better web scrolling experience thanks to a taller viewing area. And second, the bezels have been reduced significantly, so much so, that there&#8217;s no place to fit in the familiar &#8216;MacBook Pro&#8217; labeling, although we definitely won&#8217;t be missing that.</p>
<p>However, not everything is a gain. Leaked schematics had suggested that this year&#8217;s models would be losing the Touch Bar that was introduced in 2016 with fourth-generation MacBook Pros, and the renders reflect on this.</p>

<p>But the same schematics had also shown that the new MacBook Pros would be getting more ports than the current models. As visible in the renders, the 2021 MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 should launch with at least a full-sized HDMI port, two USB Type-C ports, and MagSafe charging.</p>
<p>Other than this, there has been much hype on the second iteration of Apple&#8217;s own ARM-based chip. It&#8217;s dubbed M1X and will be powering the two MacBooks. Both models are also expected to come with mini LED displays with support for 120Hz refresh rates.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-353304 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1750" height="1230" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290.jpg 1750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-300x211.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-768x540.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-1024x720.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-696x489.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-1068x751.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/13-inch-MacBook-Pro-b-e1605052329290-598x420.jpg 598w" sizes="(max-width: 1750px) 100vw, 1750px" /></p>
<p>According to a <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2021/07/09/kuo-redesigned-macbook-pro-coming-later-this-year-with-mini-led-macbook-air-with-new-display-in-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>9To5Mac</em> </a>report, the analyst claims that the Cupertino based giant will begin the production of the new 14 inch and 16 inch MacBook Pros in the third quarter of this year. Furthermore, Kuo also stated that the brand has been investing in Mini LED display panels, which it is seeking to include in more products in the future. In other words, the latest MacBook Pro launching this year might feature Mini LED displays.</p>
<p>Earlier this year, Apple had launched the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, which was the company&#8217;s first Mini LED device. Mini LED display is basically comprised of thousands of really small LEDs in the backlight, which enables it to offer higher contrast ratio and deeper blacks like OLED panels. As per previous reports from Kuo, the new MacBook Pro will have a flat edged design along with a more powerful <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1x/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">M1X</a> chip.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-353355 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="1208" height="598" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip.jpg 1208w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-300x149.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-768x380.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-1024x507.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-324x160.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-696x345.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-1068x529.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Macbook-Pro-with-M1-chip-848x420.jpg 848w" sizes="(max-width: 1208px) 100vw, 1208px" /></p>
<p>The analyst also added that the Mini LED panel that will be featured on the MacBook Pros will also arrive in another model of the company&#8217;s notebooks. In 2022, this display technology will also arrive in the next generation of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/macbook-air/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacBook Air</a>, which is also rumored to feature the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">M2</a> chip that will have a more advanced GPU. Keep in mind, this is still an unconfirmed report so take this news with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates.</p>

<p>According to a <a href="https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20210601PD209.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>DigiTimes</em> </a>report, industry sources close to the matter the supplier for the Cupertino based giant will begin the shipment of mini LED display components for the new MacBook Pro in Q3 2021. These displays are planned to ship for the 14 inch and 16 inch models of the high end Macbooks. This would mark the first time the iPhone maker will ship its MacBook with mini LED display technology.</p>
<p>Although, this isn&#8217;t the first product from the company to feature this display, as the company unveiled the new iPad Pro that sported the Mini LED panels. Furthermore, these MacBooks are set to launch with the an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1x/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">improved version of the M1 chipset</a>. These notebooks are expected to feature a flatter top and bottom, with additional ports like an HDMI port, SD card slot, and even a magnetic power cable.</p>

<p>The new mini LED would also enable the brand to offer higher brightness along with improved contrast ratio. Keep in mind, this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt, and stay tuned for more as we will be providing more updates when additional information or any interesting developments that surface in the arriving months.</p>

Now, Ming-Chi Kuo has come back with another report stating that two of the 2021 MacBook Pro models will feature an SD card reader and HDMI port.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-320931" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2020-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="980" height="632" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2020-2.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2020-2-300x193.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2020-2-768x495.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2020-2-696x449.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2020-2-651x420.jpg 651w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></p>
<p>According to Ming-Chi Kuo, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> is <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/02/22/2021-macbook-pro-sd-hdmi-port-kuo/">planning</a> at least two new MacBook Pros with significant changes to design and specs. Some of the critical changes would be the inclusion of an SD card reader and HDMI port.</p>
<p>Last month, Kuo had given details of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/15/apple-macbook-pro-2021-details-revealed/">2021 MacBook Pro&#8217;s design</a>. He said that the laptops would have squared-off sides in both the top and bottom parts. That is, they would draw a lot of inspiration from the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ipad-pro">iPad Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-12">iPhone 12</a> models.</p>
<p>Besides, the SD Card slot feature was <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-22/apple-aapl-plans-new-macbook-air-with-magsafe-macbook-pro-with-sd-card-slot">first tipped</a> by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg last month. So far, Kuo says Apple would remove the Touch Bar on the 2021 MacBook Pros while Mark Gurman had claimed minor changes.</p>
<p>Apple&#8217;s lineup of 2021 MacBook Pros will likely come in two sizes- 14-inch and 16-inch models. Considering the company grabbed a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/07/apple-macbook-m1-market-share/">good amount of attraction</a> with its Apple M1 chipset, these models could very well feature upgraded processors.</p>
<p>Either way, Kuo says that Taiwan&#8217;s Genesys Logic will be Apple&#8217;s exclusive supplier of SD card readers. Also, these two &#8216;Pro&#8217; models are reportedly set for a launch somewhere in the Second half of 2021(2H 2021). Let&#8217;s wait for more details in the coming days.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Apple is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/13/apple-airtags-on-course-march-2021-launch/">likely to launch</a> new iPad Pro models and AirTags next month.</p>
