Samsung has started selling its new Magnet Wireless Battery Pack globally, expanding its lineup of mobile charging accessories designed for the latest Galaxy smartphones.

The Samsung Magnet Wireless Battery Pack is designed primarily for the Galaxy S26 series and other Qi2-compatible devices. However, accessories such as magnetic cases are required because the Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra, launched without built-in magnets. This means users will need a compatible magnetic case in order to use the snap-on attachment feature.

Once paired with a magnetic case, the power bank can attach to the back of the phone using magnetic alignment. The magnets ensure that the charger sits correctly on the device, helping maintain stable wireless charging without the need for cables or manual positioning.

Samsung has also integrated a fold-out kickstand into the back of the battery pack. The stand allows users to prop the phone up at a comfortable viewing angle while charging. This makes it useful for video calls, watching videos, gaming, or browsing while the device remains attached to the battery pack.

The accessory houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports wireless charging output of up to 15W when magnetically connected to compatible devices such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26. The magnetic alignment helps maintain consistent power transfer while the device is in use.

In addition to wireless charging, the battery pack also supports wired charging through a USB Type-C port. The port offers up to 25W wired fast charging. This allows users to charge a device faster or charge two devices at the same time by using both wireless and wired charging simultaneously.

Samsung has released the Qi2 Magnet Wireless Battery Pack in a single gray color option. The box includes a short 0.2-meter USB-C cable.

The power bank is priced at $64.99 on Samsung’s official website. It is also listed on Amazon and Best Buy, although both retailers currently show it as out of stock. In the United Kingdom, it is available from Samsung UK and Amazon UK for £37.80, reduced from the original price of £54.

The accessory carries the EB-U2500 model number and houses a sizeable 5,000mAh battery capacity.

What makes this accessory notable is its use of the Qi2 Magnetic Power Profile, which combines magnetic alignment and connector-free charging. In practice, this works similarly to Apple’s MagSafe technology. This allows users to attach the power bank to compatible smartphones. To recall, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to be the brand’s first flagship lineup to feature Qi2 charging. This is a shift from previous Samsung power accessories that required cases or external add-ons to achieve magnetic attachment.

Looking at the official looking renders, the power bank will sport a sleek, rectangular design with rounded edges and cut-out areas around the magnetic ring. Originally introduced in China, this ultra-thin 5000mAh power bank supports magnetic wireless charging, making it a great companion for MagSafe-compatible devices like the iPhone. The brand claims that the battery retains more than 80% of its original capacity even after 300 charge cycles.

Xiaomi’s Super Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5000 brings both wireless and wired charging, with the USB-C port delivering up to 22.5W wired output. On the other hand, the wireless charging pad supports multiple charging levels, namely 5W, 7.5W, 10W, and 15W. Looking at the image, the thin power bank will be available in four color variants, which include black, gold, purple, and blue.

Other notable features include a dual NTC thermal sensor system that monitors temperature 12,000 times per minute. There are even 17 N52-grade neodymium magnets inside the unit, generating a magnetic force of up to 10N, making it perfect for MagSafe compatible iPhones and other supported devices. When Oppo unveiled the Find X8 series, one of the biggest new inclusions was support for magnetic wireless charging technology. The series is the first to introduce this feature on Android smartphones, so here’s why I believe it is a game changer for wireless charging.

Apple did it first but Oppo did it better

This is one of the few occasions where Android smartphones actually take inspiration from iPhones. Apple debuted MagSafe to make wireless charging more intuitive thanks to magnets. Now, Oppo is taking this technology a step further. In our comparison with MagSafe, I talked about how the MagSafe has better compatibility overall since it’s a seasoned feature in the Apple ecosystem. However, Oppo blows the competition out of the water with charging speeds.

Both OnePlus and Oppo have launched new accessories alongside their latest flagship smartphones that offer a faster charging rate. To recall, the Oppo AirVOOC 50W Magnetic Power Bank launched with 50W charging, which is a lot more faster than Apple’s MagSafe which supports 15W for iPhones.

Big Battery in a Slim Form Factor

The Oppo Magnetic Power Bank was launched with a large 5,000mAh capacity. But it is also known as the Magnetic Energy Card power bank. This is thanks to its ultra slim form factor. So one can slap on the Magnetic Power bank via a wireless charging pad that could attach to the back of Oppo’s new Find X8 series. Other notable features include the temperature monitoring and LED indicator lights to show the remaining power levels.

Furthermore, these new charging accessories are built using a compact silver aluminum alloy casing, which measures just 120 grams in weight and 8.8mm in thickness. This makes it slim enough for buyers to carry it in their wallets or pockets, moving away from bulky power banks that are as hefty as bricks.

So what does this mean for wireless charging on smartphones?

If more brands adopt magnetic charging technology, it won’t be long for wireless charging to become more viable. As of right now, you typically charge smartphones wirelessly by placing them on a wireless charging pad or a wireless charging dock. But the wireless charging game could change forever with this technology.

You won’t need to carry a hefty power bank, since there is now a lightweight wireless power bank card that can be attached to the back of your smartphone. So charging becomes seamless and unintrusive. There is no longer a need to put your phone down or leave it on a charging pad. This has been one of the biggest complaints with wireless charging since it doesn’t practically offer any major benefits over wired fast charging, which is more efficient, faster, and even more flexible at times.

The Chinese tech giant revealed three distinct accessories that support magnetic wireless charging technology, which is an anticipated feature on upcoming flagship smartphones. The first one that was teased is the new Oppo Mag Case, which is a protective cover that supports Magnetic Charging. In the video teaser, Oppo also teased the AirVOOC 50W Magnetic Charger along with the 80W Magnetic Power Bank as well.

Thanks to the Magnetic Charging support, users can even attack the power bank to the back of the Oppo Find X8 series phone even as it has the Mag Case on. Recently, the company also teased another 120W SuperVOOC dual port charging brick and another power bank. So these will likely launch alongside the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro, which are set to launch in China soon.

Looking at the video, the Mag Case can be seen in multiple color options. This includes White, Black, Blue, and Pink. For those unaware, the Oppo Find X8 lineup is confirmed to launch with the Dimensity 9400 SoC on 24th October 2024. As of right now, pre-orders for the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro have also gone live in the region. The company will also be launching the Oppo Pad 3 Pro alongside the Find X8 series. A recent report has even revealed the launch timeline of the Find X8 lineup in the Indian market.

Nubia has just held a new launch conference in which it announced its Red Magic 6S Pro smartphone. However, the company also unveiled a series of new accessories and peripheral products as well along with its new Red Magic Watch Vitality Edition.

Earlier this year, the Chinese smartphone maker had released its first smartwatch alongside the launch of the Red Magic 6 series. Now, the brand has launched a new variant of its wearable product. It is the Red Magic Watch Vitality Edition, which will be smaller and more affordable than the Red Magic Watch. Similar to the previously launched variant, it also features a round display with a metallic case and two buttons. Furthermore, its arrives in two color variants, namely black and silver.

It sports a smaller 1.19 inch screen compared to the 1.39 inch screen of the Red Magic Watch. Although, it still offers an AMOLED panel with AOD (Always On Display) support. The new version is also lighter, weighing 23 grams over the 30 grams of the Red Magic Watch. Like most modern smartwatches, it arrives with support for multiple sports modes along with sensors to monitor health metrics as well.

Apart from the new smartphone and smartwatch, the brand also launched a number of accessories and peripheral products. This includes its new Red Magic themed T Shirts, Figurines, and Face Masks, as well as electronic peripherals like a new magnetic power bank that is themed after Minions and another Red Magic branded power bank that has a massive 10,000mAh capacity. Meanwhile, it has also released a new 65W four port GaN3 gallium nitride charger along with a 20W and 30W chargers and a new Red Magic G1 Controller.
