<p>The Maimang brand was introduced as a collaboration between <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei">Huawei</a> and China Telecom. As the former was banned from selling 5G devices, it transferred the ownership wholly to the latter in 2022.</p>

<p>Since then, the carrier has been releasing 5G-enabled handsets. The latest one called <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/03/maimang-20-launch/">Maimang 20</a> was just launched in April.</p>

<p>Two months later, the operator has confirmed to debut yet another phone later this week.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="648" height="432" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Maimang-A20-5G-Teaser.jpeg?x10805" alt="Maimang A20 5G" class="wp-image-543690" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Maimang-A20-5G-Teaser.jpeg 648w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Maimang-A20-5G-Teaser-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Maimang-A20-5G-Teaser-630x420.jpeg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px" /></figure>

<p>The upcoming Maimang-branded smartphone is officially called Maimang A20 5G. It is scheduled to launch on June 15.</p>

<p>The teaser poster for the phone reveals its main camera. It also slightly showcases the design.</p>

<p>From the image, we can tell that the handset will sport a 50MP main camera. Further, its design resembles the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-enjoy-50z/">Huawei Enjoy 50z</a> (aka <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-y61/">Huawei Nova Y61</a>) from last year.</p>

<p>Thus, there’s a chance that Maimang A20 5G could be a 5G version of Enjoy 50z for China Telecom customers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If this is the case, then we can expect the device to arrive with a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch. It may have two 2MP sensors for macro and depth on the rear and a 5MP front-facing camera.</p>

<p>For biometrics, it will likely feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Finally, it could be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 22.5W wired charging.</p>

<p>Anyways, we will know everything about this product soon as it is only a few days away from going official.</p>

<p>Last year, Huawei sold off the Maimang brand to China Telecom. The new owner <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/05/11/maimang-11-5g-launch-china/">released Maimang 11</a> in May. Almost a year later, the carrier has now launched the successor of this handset dubbed as Maimang 20.</p>

<p>Just like the previous model, the new one is also a budget 5G smartphone. It comes with several upgrades over its predecessor along with a revamped design.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="856" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-1024x856.jpg?x10805" alt="Maimang 20" class="wp-image-527122" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-1024x856.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-300x251.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-768x642.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-696x582.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-1068x893.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured-503x420.jpg 503w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Maimang-20-Featured.jpg 1492w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The newly released Maimang 20 arrives with a flat frame design, like most phones on the market these days. It sports two big circular modules for cameras like some <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei/">Huawei</a> and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Honor/">Honor</a> devices.</p>

<p>On the front, the handset flaunts a 6.78-inch centered punch-hole display. This LCD screen offers a resolution of 2388 x 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.</p>

<p>The smartphone comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. On the software front, it boots <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-12/">Android 12</a>.</p>

<p>For optics, it uses a 64MP primary camera, which is assisted by a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has an 8MP shooter.</p>

<p>Last but not least, the device draws energy from a 5,000mAh battery and carries support for 40W fast charging.</p>

<p>The Maimang 20 is priced at ¥1,799 (~$260) and ¥1,999 (~$290) for 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB memory configurations, respectively. It can be availed in either silver, black, or green color options. The phone is available for pre-order starting today (April 3) and will go on sale from April 7.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Last but not least, the Maimang 10 could cost around ¥2,299 ($361). In other words, the phone offers very little for its asking price when compared to other smartphones in the segment.</span></p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88604" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/huawei-Maiming-5.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei Maiming 5" width="670" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/huawei-Maiming-5.jpg 670w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/huawei-Maiming-5-218x300.jpg 218w" sizes="(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The poster for the phone bears a slogan which roughly translates into &#8221;not afraid of what the young&#8221; or better put &#8221;not afraid of being young&#8221; indicates that the phone is aimed at the younger generation.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/02/another-honor-phone-feature-6-6-2k-screen-4400mah-battery/"> Honor Phablet With 6.6-inch 2K Display Hits TENAA</a></strong></p>
<p>The phone called &#8221;Maimang 5&#8221; will have 2 versions with one of the versions featuring 4GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM, a 16MP camera with OIS and ability to shoot 4k videos; and Snapdragon 650 or 652 processor. The phone is set to compete with the likes of <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/25/first-day-oppo-r9-sales-impressive-sold-180000-units/">OPPO R9</a> and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/30/vivo-x7-x7-plus-official-snapdragon-652-16mp-front-shooters/">Vivo X7</a>. However, unlike the Mate 8 or OPPO R9 which have metal bodies, the Maimang 5 could end up with a double glass design with a metal frame. The pricing for the phone is expected to start at 2000 Yuan ($299). We still haven&#8217;t got any confirmation, so let&#8217;s wait for more details.</p>
