Massive leak reveals more about Insomniac’s Wolverine game

Insomniac Games, the studio behind the popular Marvel’s Spider-Man games, was recently affected by a massive cyber attack. A ransomware group managed to hack into their system and gain access to a ton of details, which revealed details regarding its upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game. Now, more details about the new superhero title have been leaked.

Marvel’s Wolverine Leak Gameplay & Mechanics Leaked

An earlier report from CyberDaily revealed that the hacker group Rhysida managed to get away with sensitive information regarding the current and former employees and even shared a screenshot of the upcoming Wolverine game. A fresh report from the same cybersecurity news website stated that the group announced an auction price for this data. This auction was set to start at 50 bitcoins (roughly 2 million US Dollars) along with a seven day deadline to pay.

The report adds that a total of 1.67TB of data that includes over 1.3 million files. Out of this, Rhysdia shared a bunch of details regarding the Wolverine game, which includes gameplay footage as well as level design and mechanics. Details of unreleased Insomniac and Sony games, screenshots of internal spreadsheets, and development and marketing budget details were also revealed. The videos are already circulating X (formerly Twitter) and showcases the iconic superhero using his powerful sense of smell to locate objectives.

Wolverine was officially announced a while back via a short trailer. The game is the first title in a trilogy, with the second and third entries being planned for a late 2029 and 2033 launch. Sony has yet to officially comment regarding this massive leak as of right now. Although, it previously stated that an internal investigation is being conducted. The company believes that no other Sony Interactive Entertainment division was affected by this attack.

Contrary to the impression given by its December 2023 reveal trailer, Marvel’s Blade isn’t a newborn project. Evidence unearthed from Dana Nightingale’s LinkedIn profile, Arkane Studios’ Campaign Director, indicates that the game’s journey began as early as January 2022. This revelation sheds new light on the game’s progress and its potential release timeline.

The game’s early start in 2022 coincides intriguingly with significant events in the gaming world. It was about a year after Microsoft‘s acquisition of Arkane’s parent company, ZeniMax Media, and only six months following Bethesda‘s update on the Indiana Jones game. This timing suggests that Marvel’s Blade and the Indiana Jones game might be at similar development stages, despite the former being kept under wraps much longer.

This extended development period also dispels the notion that Marvel’s Blade might miss the current console generation. Historically, Arkane Studios has a track record of not announcing games in their early development stages. This practice, coupled with the average four-year development cycle of Arkane’s projects, strongly suggests that Marvel’s Blade could be well on its way to a release in the current console era.

Insomniac Games hack leaks screenshots of upcoming Wolverine game

Sony‘s Insomniac Games has just been hacked by a ransomware group. The attack came from a group called Rhysida who managed to gain access to some sensitive information from the gaming studio and also leak screenshots of its upcoming Marvel title. So let’s have a look.

Marvel’s Wolverine screenshots leaked in Insomniac hack

Back in 2019, Sony acquired Insomniac Games studio to develop its first party exclusive titles for the PlayStation. The studio went on to release Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, which was a major hit in the market. It was later revealed that Insomniac would also be working on a new superhero game from Marvel, which was Wolverine. A short trailer was released, but finer details were revealed. Now, the latest hack shared screenshots of gameplay of the upcoming Wolverine title.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has started an investigation into this hack, with CyberDaily (a cybersecurity news website) first reporting on the attack. According to an official Sony spokesperson, only the Insomniac Games studio appears to be affected by the attack and other Sony divisions weren’t targeted by the ransomware group. In a collage of screenshots shared on Rhysida’s website, private information of the studio was revealed. This includes emails between Insomniac staff, employment documents, Marvel’s Wolverine screenshots, and what appears to be passports or other government documents from Insomniac Games staff.

This attack even affected the Spider-Man 2 voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal. For those unaware, Rhysida is the same group which claimed responsibility for attacks on UK healthcare companies earlier this year. The hackers have also targeted firms in the education, manufacturing, information technology, and government sectors as well. A few days back, Realme India teased a partnership with the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Thor: Love and Thunder. Today, the brand has revealed that it will be launching a customized version of Realme GT Neo 3 150W celebrating the release of the new Thor movie. Let’s check out when this handset will be announced.

According to the official Twitter account of Realme India, the ‘Realme GT Neo 3 150W Thor Love and Thunder Limited Edition’ will launch in India on July 7. You read it right, the official name of the smartphone is a mouthful. For the unaware, the film is also scheduled to hit the theatres in the country on the same day.

The brand is yet to reveal the design of the device. However, it has confirmed some of the key features, which clearly indicate there won’t be any change in specs.

The only difference between the regular and the special edition will be cosmetic changes, just like the previous special edition smartphones from Realme.

The upcoming Thor Edition of Realme GT Neo 3 150W will be the phone’s second special edition variant. The first model based on Naruto was announced at the end of May in China.

Apart from these two, Realme has also released Dragonball Z Edition of Realme GT Neo 2 and Realme GT Neo 3T in six months of 2022 alone.

The Realme GT Neo 3 150 retails at ₹42,999 in India. The Thor Love and Thunder Limited Edition will likely cost a bit more than this.

Back in October, Samsung teamed up with Disney for a couple of Disney and Marvel-branded accessories for the Galaxy Z Flip3. These products were limited to Taiwan. Now, almost two months later, the company has extended this collection to include Star Wars, The Simpsons, National Geographic-branded accessories. This time around, they are exclusive to Malaysia.

Samsung’s Disney-branded accessories for the Galaxy Z Flip3 in Malaysia include silicon cover straps, lanyards, sticker packs, and a cover ring. They are themed after popular franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, The Simpsons, Mickey Mouse, and National Geographic.

All these accessories require an official silicon cover for the Galaxy Z Flip3 sold by Samsung. Hence, users will have to first invest in it.

Looking at his tweet, we can see the star with his custom Xbox Series X, which features a unique design that is inspired by the movie. The new version of the Xbox Series X also arrives with certain additional pieces of merchandises as well; including, a figurine of the superhero character Liu plays in the movie along with a custom controller, which is based on the main character.

This new version of the Xbox Series X is unfortunately not available in stores but a lucky few can win this new special edition of the gaming console. Several manufacturers have partnered with the Marvel this year. From Xiaomi and Redmi releasing the Redmi Note 7 in a special retail Avengers: Endgame retail box in China and a Mi Band 4 Avengers Edition to OPPO releasing an Avengers Edition of the F11 Pro, to Samsung announcing Marvel Superhero cases for some of its phones including the Galaxy S10. Now, it is the turn of the Galaxy Note10 series to also get some Marvel love too.

Famous leaker, Evan Blass (@evleaks) has shared photos of Galaxy Friends Marvel smart covers for the Galaxy Note10 and the Galaxy Note10+.

Both phones will get Iron Man, Deadpool, Captain America, and Spider-Man cases. The images also show the available content made available for each case such as a custom theme which will be automatically downloaded when the case is attached.

Redmi K20 Pro Marvel Hero Limited Edition smartphone launched in China

A couple of months ago, Xiaomi-backed Redmi launched the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro flagship smartphones in the Chinese market. Now today, the company has announced a new special edition of the Redmi K20 Pro in partnership with Marvel.

The company has launched the Redmi K20 Pro Marvel Hero Limited Edition smartphone in the Chinese market. As per Xiaomi, this limited edition device is launched in order to pay tribute to Marvel heroes.

The image shared by the company shows that the smartphone comes in Black and Grey color with a customized back panel that mimics Iron Man design/logo. It’s not yet known what comes packed inside the phone’s retail box.

As for the specifications, nothing seems to have changed compared to the standard Redmi K20 Pro. It flaunts a 6.39-inch AMOLED display that offers a tall aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The AMOLED screen is integrated with the latest seventh-generation in-display fingerprint reader and the phone also comes with support for full DC dimming and eye protection mode.

The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM. It comes with an 8-layer of graphite sheet for heat dissipation. It possesses up to 256 GB of inbuilt storage but lacks support for microSD card.

In the camera department, the Redmi K20 Pro comes with a pop-up selfie camera of 20-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. The rear shell of the phone features a triple camera unit that consists of 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 48-megapixel main sensor with f/1.75 aperture, a 124.8-degree 13-megapixel superwide lens with f/2.4 aperture and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom capabilities.

The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie operating system comes preloaded on the device. For enhanced gaming experience, it carries support for Game Turbo 2.0. There is a 4,000mAh battery inside the phone that is coupled with 27W rapid charging.

Realme X Spider-Man: Far From Home Custom Edition goes official in China

Last month, at a launch event in China, Oppo-backed Realme had launched two smartphones — Realme X and Realme X Lite. While the Realme X Lite is a re-branded model of the Realme 3 Pro, the Realme X is an all-new phone. It is also the company’s first device to feature an under-display fingerprint sensor and pop-up front-facing camera.

Now, Realme has joined the list of smartphone makers that have partnered with Marvel to launch a special edition phone for promoting one of its movies. Realme has announced its partnership with Marvel for the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home movie.

As a part of this, Realme has today officially launched the Realme X Spider-Man Far From Home Custom Edition smartphone. It will go on sale in China from 9th July at 10:00 AM local time and is priced at 1,799 Yuan, roughly $262 for the 8GB + 128GB model.

The retail box of this special edition smartphone comes with Spider-Man theme and so does some of the accessories. For instance, the company is including a case for the Realme X smartphone which carries the theme of Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The specifications of this custom edition seem to be the same as the standard model. It features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2340 × 1080 pixels screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone’s display offers a 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the pop-up selfie camera design.

Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor is powering the device, just like the Realme 3 Pro. It is coupled with Adreno 616 GPU and packs up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

Connectivity options on the device include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, and GPS + GLONASS. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie operating system with ColorOS 6 custom interface on top. The device drives power from a 3,765mAh battery which also comes with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging support that was first introduced with the Realme 3 Pro.

Realme X to launch in India next month with ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ case

Last month, Oppo-backed Realme launched the Realme X smartphone in China, making it the first smartphone from the company to not make its debut in India first. It is also the company’s first phone to have an in-display fingerprint sensor and a pop-up selfie camera.

Recently, Madhav Sheth, Realme India CEO confirmed that the Realme X will get launched in India. While he didn’t reveal the launch date, he said that the smartphone will be launched in India in the second half of this year.

Now, a report claims that Realme X will be launched in India next month. Not only that, but the report also says that the company has partnered with Marvel for the promotion of the upcoming ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ movie and will also offer a Spider-Man themed case for the Realme X smartphone.

However, it is not yet known if the Spider-Man: Far From Home themed case will be bundled with the phone or the users need to purchase it separately. This Marvel movie is scheduled to release in mid-July and thus, the promotional timeline makes sense.

The Realme X smartphone flaunts a 6.53-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 2340 × 1080 pixels screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone’s display offers a 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the pop-up selfie camera design.

Huami and Oclean to release world’s first electric toothbrush with a touchscreen

Xiaomi is a major investor in Huami which in turn invests in Oclean, a smart electric toothbrush manufacturer. A new report has revealed that Huami and Oclean will jointly release the world’s first electric toothbrush with a touchscreen.

An image of the electric toothbrush was shared on Weibo earlier today by a user called Lie Feng. It shows what appears to be a cross between an Oclean electric toothbrush and a Mi Band 3 (without the strap).

Oclean toothbrushes generally have to be paired to an app which will let you customize your cleaning schedules and set alerts to remind you to clean your teeth. But with the incorporation of a touch display, owners may not need to get into the app to view certain details such as cleaning score or battery life of the toothbrush. However, you will still need to open the app to get a detailed cleaning analysis.

Unlike the Mi Band 3, the display of the toothbrush is a color one. However, the overall design greatly resembles the third generation Mi Band. The source of the image has also shared images of customized versions of the upcoming toothbrush. One has an Iron Man theme while the other has an Avengers: End game theme. So this is probably the result of the partnership between Marvel and Huami.

Huami sends Launch Invites that Pay Tribute to Iron Man

We’ve known that Huami’s working on some form of product tie-in with Marvel, but we didn’t expect it to come so soon. Just earlier today media publications began receiving invites to an upcoming Huami and Amazfit event. What’s cool is that these invites pay tribute to Iron Man and Marvel in a nice way, while not being tacky or overdone.

Written on the invites, we’ve got the date of the launch event, that being the 3rd of June. Surrounding that, we’ve got the words “Proof that Amazfit has a heart”. Any Marvel fan knows this is an homage to Iron Man, specifically the words that are engraved on his Arc Reactor. We’ve also got a poster that further pays tribute with the Arc Reactor itself!

This really cool, and it’s a great way to garner interest from Marvel fans. Now, what new products we’ll see at the event, we still don’t know. We’ve actually seen a few already with some new Huami OCLEAN toothbrushes that heavily feature the Avengers in all their cavity-fighting glory.

Whatever comes around, we do hope the Avengers incorporation is tasteful and good. While I love Marvel as much as anybody these days, it’s never pleasant to go over the top with representation. Designs should remain appealing regardless of what the overarching theme is. I’m hoping the designs here remain sleek and tasteful while still retaining the Marvel Avengers theming.

Huami, makers of the popular Amazfit and Mi Band products, are having a product tie-in to coincide with Avengers: Endgame. The Avengers name is hyper influential over in China, where Endgame easily smashed box office records to a ridiculous degree. Thus, it only makes sense that everyone would want to have some form or partnership with them.

The teaser also shows us what may be a brand new Amazfit smartwatch. We had guessed this was the case when Amazfit began concurrently giving the Bip price cuts, though nothing was really set in stone. Having a new product to coincide with the hottest movie in China is a pretty smart move all things considered.

Huami came into the spotlight as the maker of Xiaomi’s Mi Band wearable. It went public last year (even before Xiaomi), and has a number of really cool wearables under its own Amazfit lineup. Huami’s been doing quite well for itself. Between the multiple different smartwatches, the miscellaneous products and the hyper popular Mi Band line, the company has a solid portfolio of gadgets. Whether we see a new product for them soon, we have no idea. We expect to at least see SOMETHING from them though.

Oppo F11 Pro Marvel Avengers Edition to be introduced on April 24

With the Avengers: Endgame movie getting released next week, Marvel has partnered with Oppo for the promotion of the movie. As a part of this partnership, the company will introduce Oppo F11 Pro Marvel Avengers Limited Edition smartphone on 24th April.

Last time, for the promotion of the previous Avengers movie, Marvel had partnered with OnePlus to launch the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition. Recently, the company has also partnered with Redmi for promoting the upcoming Avengers movie.

As for the Oppo F11 Pro Marvel Avengers Limited Edition, there won’t be any major changes apart from the phone’s design and the internal storage capacity. It will come in Blue and Red colors along with the Avengers logo on the back.

Instead of the 64GB of internal storage in the standard variant, the Oppo F11 Pro Marvel Avengers Limited Edition will come with 128GB of internal storage. The phone still packs the same 6GB of RAM.

It features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Panoramic display offering a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and 90.9 percent screen to body ratio. Instead of a notch, the phone comes with an elevating camera that houses the front camera sensor.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the popular mid-range chipset from MediaTek — Helio P70 and features a Hyper Boost technology that basically optimizes the phone’s performance.

Coming to the camera department, the smartphone features a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor along with an LED flash, f/1.79 aperture, and 6P Lens. It comes with an Ultra Night Mode for better low-light photography and a few other AI-powered features.

On the front side, the smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel snapper with an elevating mechanism, which the company prefers to call “Rising Camera.” It supports AI-based features as well as Face Unlock feature. There’s also a fingerprint sensor placed on the phone’s back panel.

Connectivity options on the device include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS, and Micro USB Port. As for the software, the smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6. The smartphone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery which comes with the VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge technology.
