<p>Not long ago, prominent leakster Evan Blass had posted a number of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/27/lenovo-legion-phone-3-leaked-images/">images of the device</a>, revealing all of its color variants. Its rear has a pretty cool and unique design with a huge center-aligned module that appears to be built for the cameras, but also packs some elaborate RGB lights and even a twin cooling fan system.</p>
<p>The twin fan system is dubbed Frost Blade Cooling System and has a 300% higher cooling capacity than the previous generation.</p>
<p>Upfront, there will likely be a 6.9-inch Samsung E4 OLED screen with a resolution of 2460*1080, supporting a 144Hz refresh rate and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. The display is surrounded by bezels on top and the bottom, both of which house a front-firing, Dolby Atmos-certified, stereo speaker setup. There are no notches or punch-holes as the top bezel also holds the front camera.</p>

Today the device has appeared on the Master Lu benchmarking platform.</p>

<p>Master Lu, in a Weibo post, has shared the benchmarking results of an ASUS device with model number &#8220;ASUS_I005DB&#8221;. We <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/30/asus-rog-phone-5-visits-tenaa-key-specs-and-images-revealed/">already know</a> that the device is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/asus-rog-phone-5/">ASUS ROG Phone 5</a> thanks to the previous leaks. Anyway, the results show that the device scores an overall 947,284 points.</p>
<p>And as the post says, this has got to be the best overall Master Lu score for a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartphone">smartphone</a> yet. Thanks to a true 18GB RAM, the device scores an exceptional 133,998 points in the memory segment. The other overall scores in categories like CPU, GPU, storage are 321,064, 351,767, and 140,455 respectively.</p>
<p>With this benchmark, we also get a glimpse of the specs coming on the ROG Phone 5. The device in testing has a 2.84GHz Snapdragon 888 running the show, a display resolution of 2448&#215;1080 pixels, and 18GB of RAM that we <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/02/asus-rog-phone-5-geekbench-18gb-ram-pre-order/">already saw in a Geekbench</a>.</p>

<p>Speaking of which, the ROG Phone 5 is said to flaunt a 6.78-inch OLED screen. And looking at the benchmark result, we can expect it to be a FHD+ screen. The predecessor had a 144Hz refresh rate but let&#8217;s wait and see if ASUS brings upgrades to this like what <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/04/374851-nubia-redmagic-6-6-pro-china-launch-price-specs-features/">Nubia did yesterday(Mar 4.)</a>.</p>
<p>An <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/22/asus-rog-phone-5-tops-dxomark-audio-charts/">exclusive DXOMARK audio review</a> has already revealed that the ROG Phone 5 will have a 3.5mm audio jack, Dual-Front facing speakers with Dirac tuning technology. Other specs of the will likely include <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/19/asus-rog-phone-5-with-secondary-screen-appears-in-a-leaked-video/">Dot-Matrix LED</a> on the rear panel, a 6,000mAh battery with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/17/asus-rog-phone-4-will-have-a-6000mah-battery-and-significantly-faster-charging/">65W rapid charging</a>.</p>
<p>There is a chance that ASUS might bring a more affordable version(without Dot-Matrix) to certain markets but we will have to wait for the confirmation.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Talking about the performance list first, the China-exclusive </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/04/samsung-galaxy-w21-5g-foldable-smartphone-official/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Samsung W21 5G</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> leads the chart with 801,264 points. <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In the second place, we have the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/02/oneplus-8t-cyberpunk-2077-limited-edition-price-specs-design-features/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> with 796,932 points, followed by the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G with a much lower 486,008 points. Since no other high-end smartphones launched last month apart from the first two, all the remaining eight models are either mid-range or budget devices.</span></p>

<p>Further down the list, familiar names like the base variant Snapdragon 855 SoC, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/14/samsung-exynos-9820-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Samsung&#8217;s Exynos 9820</a>, and even the previous year Qualcomm flagship, Snapdragon 845 chipset, can be found. Additionally, even MediaTek&#8217;s Dimensity 1000L 5G processor makes an appearance alongside the mid range <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/12/05/snapdragon-765-and-765g-specifications-confirmed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 765G</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/12/05/kirin-980-devices-head-the-list-of-antutus-top-10-devices-for-november/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Kirin 980</a> SoC. The fact that a mid range chipset made it to the list shows the level of performance output Qualcomm is being able to deliver on its chips found on more affordable handsets.</p>

We had reported on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/09/master-lu-q1-2019-best-performing-smartphones-xiaomis-black-shark-2-steals-the-show/">ranking of smartphones based on their performance</a>, taking into considerations key parameters like RAM size, chipset type, storage size, processor speed etc. Xiaomi&#8217;s Black Shark2 gaming phone stole the show in that ranking. Master LU also published a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/10/master-lu-q1-2019-mobile-chipset-ranking/">ranking of smartphone processors</a> with Qualcomm&#8217;s flagship Snapdragon 855 emerging as the overall best chipset around. <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-246882" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-23.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="545" height="364" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-23.jpg 545w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-23-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 545px) 100vw, 545px" /></p>
<p>Master LU has now released a ranking of smartphones based on their running temperatures with such details as high and low temperatures, as well as daily high and low temperatures. The ranking covers phones that run through the app between January 1 and March 31. The temperature values come from the average temperature recorded by mobile phones that have run through the Master Lu Android APP. The data excludes models with sample quantity below 1000. It is also screened for abnormal data and robots.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-246880" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10.jpg?x44794" alt="Master Lu" width="600" height="193" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-300x97.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The phone with the highest load temperature is OPPO Find X which can reach 38.35 °C on average, followed by Nokia X7 2018, Smartisan Nut Pro 2 Special Edition, Sony Xperia XZ2, Black Shark Helo Game Phone, all of which are flagships or high-end models. The Nokia 6 also reached 35.77 ° C.</p>
<p>Among the top ten phones with &#8220;high&#8221; running temperatures, there are three Nokia models; Nokia X7 2018, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6, which is the highest from any OEM. However, we must point out that the temperatures are not too high, as they are below 40%.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-246881" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="210" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/master-lu-top-10-2-300x105.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>On the other hand, the top 10 phones with the lowest average running temperatures have the VivoY81s on top with an average temperature of 26.69°C. Other models include the OPPO A5 with a running temperature of 26.95°C, Vivo iQOO 28.07°C, Huawei Enjoy 9 Plus, OPPO R17 etc.</p>

This article is for the top Android chipsets in terms of performance.</p>
<p>According to the results, Huawei&#8217;s Kirin 970 is the top chipset for 2017. It scored 75,507 points in the GPU test, a slight increase over the Adreno 540 in the Snapdragon 835. For CPU, the Kirin records 48,707 points and this time beats the SD835 by almost 2000 points.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167218" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets.jpg?x44794" alt="Master Lu 2017 Chipsets" width="600" height="394" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets-300x197.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets-540x355.jpg 540w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Third on the list is Samsung&#8217;s Exynos 8895 that powers the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8/">Galaxy S8</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/">S8+</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-note-8/">Note8</a>. Scoring 46,264 and 75,068 points in the CPU and GPU tests respectively, the Exynos 8895 is just a tiny bit behind Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 835.</p>
<p>The fourth, fifth, and sixth positions are occupied by the Kirin 960, Snapdragon 821, and Snapdragon 820 respectively. All three chips powered the flagships of 2016.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167217" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets-b.jpg?x44794" alt="Master Lu 2017 Chipsets" width="600" height="363" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets-b.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Master-Lu-2017-Chipsets-b-300x182.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>MediaTek&#8217;s Helio X30 clinches the 7th spot. It beats the Exynos 8890 by no small margin in the CPU score but slightly scores less in the GPU test. The Snapdragon 660 is another mid-range chip that has performed well. It also beats the Exynos 8890 in the CPU test but scores less in terms of GPU performance. Its total score put it above the Kirin 955 and 950.</p>

The number of VR headsets in the market continues to rise with the features becoming more sophisticated. A benchmark app that verifies the claims of VR manufacturers is just apt at this moment.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-138860" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark.jpg?x44794" alt="master-lu-vr-benchmark" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>Thr mobile VR benchmark app will test the VR headset in three parts namely; Visual experience, performance support and sensors. The main scene of the new benchmark app is based on Unity 3D engine development which is the same platform used by games developers. Already, the benchmark app has already been tested using a total of 173 model testers, tests and analysis of more than 100,000 data samples in order to determine the credibility of the new benchmark tool. The score will be listed in percentage and the stronger the overall performance, the higher the resolution, the higher the refresh rate and the faster the visual response will be. The performance module&#8217;s highest score will be 50%, while visual effect is 20% and the sensor capability will have a maximum of 30% score.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-138859" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark2.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="337" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/master-lu-vr-benchmark2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>If you are hoping to see the benchmark result of recently launched VR headsets, you may be disappointed as Master Lu has said it won&#8217;t be publishing the performance data of the VR they have tested. According to the company, &#8220;the user needs real data, rather than laboratory data.&#8221; For now, the app only supports Android devices.</p>

Although the leaked data may be false, but the score shows the potential enormous fire power of the smartphone&#8217;s chip. Again, there&#8217;s been another leaked data which is said to be the Master Lu benchmark data of the Xiaomi Mi 6.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/xiaomi-mi-6-benchmark-1/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-114524" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Xiaomi-MI-6-benchmark-1.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi mi 6 master lu benchmark" width="640" height="705" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Xiaomi-MI-6-benchmark-1.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Xiaomi-MI-6-benchmark-1-272x300.jpg 272w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>Well, we still can&#8217;t vouch for the authenticity of this recent leaked benchmark score but it seems to have popped up on Xiaomi&#8217;s MIUI forum. The data showed the Mi 6 with a monstrous benchmark score of 1103215 points. The CPU alone polled a total of 224855 points. Not much is known about the Master Lu benchmark but we have got earlier Master Lu benchmark data of the Samsung Galaxy S7 (also pictured) which we can compare it with. The difference is just out of this world. While the Galaxy S7 managed a score a little above 100 thousand points back then, the Mi 6 is credited with a score of over 1.1 million points! Perhaps, there is a mistake somewhere because it is just unbelievable.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/galaxy-s7-master-lu-benchmark/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-114526" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/galaxy-s7-master-lu-benchmark.jpg?x44794" alt="galaxy-s7-master-lu-benchmark" width="610" height="704" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/galaxy-s7-master-lu-benchmark.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/galaxy-s7-master-lu-benchmark-260x300.jpg 260w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 6 also recorded a super high score when its purported AnTuTu benchmark score leaked recently. An indication that the Snapdragon 835 id indeed a flagship chip with immense power. If all these turn out to be true, then we sure would be expecting a super fast device with top notch performance that won&#8217;t have many rivals.</p>
