You have a 18:9 display, a good mid-range chipset, fingerprint ID and a decent battery, making it a well balanced smartphone. Here&#8217;s everything that you need to know about the Meizu M6S.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong>DESIGN:</strong></h2>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167692" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6.png?x10805" alt="mblu s6" width="400" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6.png 400w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-270x270.png 270w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></a></p>
<p>The Meizu M6S (mBlu S6) comes with an 18:9 display on a full metal body. The phone features the same U shaped nano injection antenna design that we have seen on flagship grade smartphones. What&#8217;s interesting is that unlike the leaks and renders that revealed mBlu branding at the back, the Meizu M6S will continue to use Meizu&#8217;s branding. Like previous smartphones from the company, this one too features a Meizu logo at the back.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167704" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s.jpg?x10805" alt="m6s body" width="1200" height="511" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s-768x327.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s-1024x436.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/m6s-1175x500.jpg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>Rest of the design is pretty simple, with a simple long full screen front, and a simple all metal back. There will be four color options: Gold, Gray, Black, and Blue.</p>
<p>There are a lot of fun cases as well that Meizu will sell alongside the phone to give it a funky look for the young generation.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-cases.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-167695" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-cases.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m6s cases" width="641" height="1645" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-cases.jpg 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-cases-117x300.jpg 117w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-cases-768x1971.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meizu-m6s-cases-399x1024.jpg 399w" sizes="(max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong>SPECS:</strong></h2>
<p>The Meizu M6S features a 5.7-inch 18:9 in-cell display with 1440 x 720p HD+ resolution. The screen boasts of 450 nits brightness, wide viewing angles and 1000:1 contrast ratio.</p>
<p>The phone will be the first to feature Samsung&#8217;s Exynos 7872 processor built on 14nm process with two Cortex A73 performance cores and four Cortex A53 efficient cores. Note that the chip supports all the three carries in China (full Netcom). There will be 3GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of storage options. The battery will be of 3000mAh with 18W fast charging that charges up to 52% in just 30 minutes.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Exynos-7872-architecture.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-167697" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Exynos-7872-architecture.png?x10805" alt="" width="394" height="1011" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Exynos-7872-architecture.png 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Exynos-7872-architecture-117x300.png 117w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Exynos-7872-architecture-768x1971.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Exynos-7872-architecture-399x1024.png 399w" sizes="(max-width: 394px) 100vw, 394px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the camera, the Meizu M6S will feature a Samsung 16MP CMOS sensor at the back with f/2.0 aperture, 112μm pixel area, PDAF, 5P lens, and a special HDR that&#8217;s developed by ArcSoft for the M6S. On the front, the phone features an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, ArcSoft algorithms, Intelligent facial brightness enhancement, and an adaptive beauty mode.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/side-fingerprint-m6s.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-167696" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/side-fingerprint-m6s.png?x10805" alt="" width="864" height="373" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/side-fingerprint-m6s.png 864w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/side-fingerprint-m6s-300x130.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/side-fingerprint-m6s-768x332.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 864px) 100vw, 864px" /></a></p>
<p>The phone has a side mounted fingerprint sensor, that the company says will feel natural in day to day operations. It&#8217;s pretty quick and unlocks in just 0.2 seconds.</p>
<p>As for the software, the Meizu M6S will come with Flyme 6.2 version with the company&#8217;s OneMind AI engine. No mention of the Android version yet. There&#8217;s a special game mode as well, which the company claims increases frame rate stability by 20% during gameplay.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/super-mback-gestures.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-167700" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/super-mback-gestures.png?x10805" alt="super mback gestures" width="460" height="980" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/super-mback-gestures.png 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/super-mback-gestures-141x300.png 141w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/super-mback-gestures-768x1636.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/super-mback-gestures-481x1024.png 481w" sizes="(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px" /></a></p>
<p>What&#8217;s the most interesting part of the Meizu M6S is the Super mBack feature. Since the company had to remove the mBack button, the Super mBack is here to take care of navigation. The phone features a dedicated pressure sensor chip and linear vibration motor (in the circle), allowing you to control your phone with simple gestures. So, a simple tap on the circle will take you back, press it and you&#8217;ll be taken to the home screen, swipe it and it opens up multi-tasking window. There are several other gestures as well, making navigation super easy. If it works as well as it sounds, then it will be one of the highlights of the M6S.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

In fact, last year, we saw the company limit its launches significantly, sticking to mainstream lineups like the mid-range Meizu M series and high-end Pro series. Even they didn&#8217;t do so well, despite the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-note-6/">Meizu M6 Note</a> offering pretty good value for money. So, 2018 is going to be an important year for the company and the <strong>Meizu mBlu S6</strong> is going to kick start the year for them.</p>
<p>In case you remember, Meizu was split into three divisions last year, Meizu, Blue Charm, and Flyme. The mBlu S6, which we also call the Meizu M6S, will be the company&#8217;s first rebranded Blue Charm smartphone. It actually makes sense to rebrand the mid-range cost effective series, so that it&#8217;s given a separate identity, especially when the company is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/15/meizu-focus-high-end-market-year-partnering-qualcomm-samsung/">reportedly focusing on high-end devices in 2018</a>.</p>
<p>So, being the first mBlu branded device, we are all interested to see what&#8217;s in store for us tomorrow. Luckily, there were enough leaks in the past few months to paint a complete picture of the mBlu S6 and below is a summary of these details.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>DESIGN:</strong></h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-165240" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa.jpg?x10805" alt="mBlu s6 02 tenaa" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu mBlu S6<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/05/meizu-mblu-s6-m6s-passes-tenaa-features-189-display-side-mounted-fingerprint/"> has adopted a very simple design</a>, keeping the front as well as back clean. So, you have no intrusive buttons or sensors on both the sides. This also means that the company is going to ditch the popular mBack physical home button that we all love. This might not be the best decision, but let&#8217;s reserve our judgment until tomorrow. There&#8217;s the new mblu branding at the back along with U shaped antennas on the top as well as bottom.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa.jpg?x10805"><br />
<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-165239" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa.jpg?x10805" alt="mblu s6 01 tenaa" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>You have the usual power and volume keys on the two sides, but what&#8217;s really interesting is the fingerprint sensor that&#8217;s placed just below the power button. We have seen companies usually prefer rear placed sensors for 18:9 long screen phones, but Meizu has decided to go with a side mounted one. I am personally not a big fan of rear placed sensors, so this does make things interesting.</p>
<p>Apart from this, there&#8217;s nothing special to talk about the mBlu S6&#8217;s design. Oh yes, one more thing, expect on screen buttons for navigation.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>SPECS:</strong></h3>
<p>This is where things get interesting. The mBlu S6 is said to feature a lower mid-range Exynos chipset from Samsung. We are not used to seeing Exynos chips inside non-Samsung devices, but <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/10/meizu-pro-6-plus-4gb-64gb-exynos-8890-listed-jingdong-2999-yuan/">Meizu has always been one manufacturer having very good relationship with the South Korean giant</a>, so the use of this chipset is not surprising. However, it&#8217;s worth nothing that the Exynos 7872 has not yet been officially detailed by Samsung. But we <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/04/meizu-m6s-new-leak-reveals-key-specs-exynos-7872-chipset/">do have some rumored / leaked specs of the chipset</a>.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Samsung-Exynos-7-Octa-Featured.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131275" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Samsung-Exynos-7-Octa-Featured.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung Exynos 7872" width="600" height="369" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Samsung-Exynos-7-Octa-Featured.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Samsung-Exynos-7-Octa-Featured-300x185.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The Exynos 7872 inside the mBlu S6 is said to be manufactured on a 14nm node featuring an hexa-core architecture. The chip is said to sport 2 x Cortex A73 @ 2GHz and 4 x Cortex A53 @1.6GHz cores inside. Graphics is taken care by Mali-G71 MP3 GPU with other notable features including Bluetooth 4.2, Cat 7 LTE, and dual SIM support. According to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/11/meizu-m6s-seen-geekbench-sports-hexa-core-processor/">Geekbench scores of the mBlu S6</a>, the Exynos 7872 does really well in single core test but lags behind in multi-core test as compared to SD625 (which scores near 4K).</p>
<p>As for the other specs of the mBlu S6, the phone should come with 3GB + 32GB / 64GB storage options, 5.7-inch HD+ 1440 x 720p display with 2.5D curved glass on top, 3000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, Android 7 with Flyme OS, and 16MP rear / 8MP f/2.0 front cameras.</p>
<p>The company confirmed the 18:9 display on the phone earlier today and even added that there was a surprise feature on the phone. I guess, we&#8217;ll have to wait until tomorrow to know more details.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>PRICING:</strong></h3>
<p>The mBlu S6 is said to be a 1000 Yuan segment smartphone and the likely price tag could be <strong>1299 Yuan ($199)</strong>. The phone launches tomorrow in China and the first set of orders should likely ship within next week.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>CONCLUSION:</strong></h3>
<p>Everything looks pretty good for the mBlu S6, expect for the fact that with the above mentioned price tag, it competes directly with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-5-plus/">Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus</a>. But in terms of the specification that we have seen so far, the mBlu S6 would struggle in front of the Redmi 5 Plus. The resolution is lower on the S6 (HD+ vs FHD+) and the battery is smaller as well (3000 vs 4000). From the specs, the phone is better suited to take on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-5/">Redmi 5</a>, which retails for 799 Yuan ($125).</p>
<p>So, the pricing is going to be crucial for the mBlu S6. Or maybe there&#8217;s a feature that sets the phone apart from the Redmi devices.</p>
<p>Well, all we have to do now is wait and see if Meizu finally starts the year with a good launch.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

The company is slated to launch a series of devices this year and one of them is mBlu S6, which will be launched on 17th January. The phone has been leaked a few times, revealing some of the key specifications.</p>
<p>Now, a promotional poster of the mBlu S6 has been leaked, which confirms some of the phone&#8217;s specifications and features which were leaked earlier. The latest development confirms that the phone will be powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung/">Samsung</a>&#8216;s Exynos chipset. Earlier, it was reported that the device will pack Exynos 7872 chipset.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-167242 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-poster-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="mBlu S6 Poster Leak" width="600" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-poster-leak.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-poster-leak-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-poster-leak-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Samsung&#8217;s Exynos 7882 is 14nmm chipset that is designed for low-budget phones. It is a hexa-core SoC that comprises four cores of Cortex A53 and two cores of Cortex A73 and Mali G71-MP3 graphics. It includes a Cat. 7 LTE modem that offers a maximum download speed of up to 300 Mbps and upload speed of up to 100 Mbps.</p>
<p>The leaked poster also confirms that the phone will feature a fingerprint sensor on the side, as reported earlier. The phone is rumoured to come with a large 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 720 pixels screen resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It packs 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage and is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery that also supports 9V/2A 18W fast charging.</p>
<p>Recently, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/11/meizu-mblu-s6-video-leaks-showcasing-screen-buttons-possibly-new-unlock-pattern/">video of the phone</a> was leaked, which revealed that there is a mBlu logo on the back panel, confirming that this will be the first mBlu branded smartphone to be released by the company. To accommodate the full-screen display, the company has decided to let-go its popular mBack home button. Also, there is no capacitive touch button and users will have to rely on the on-screen navigation buttons.</p>

<p>Last week, the mBlu S6, which is also being referred as Meizu M6S <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/05/meizu-mblu-s6-m6s-passes-tenaa-features-189-display-side-mounted-fingerprint/">passed through TENAA</a>, a Chinese certification agency. Looking at the phone&#8217;s specs, it seems that the device will directly compete against Xiaomi&#8217;s Redmi 5 Plus.</p>

The Meizu<strong> mBlu S6</strong>, which some refer to as the Meizu M6S, is going to be the first smartphone from the company this year and from its leaked design, and rumored specs, there&#8217;s no doubt that the phone is here to take on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-5-plus/">Redmi 5 Plus</a>. The mblu S6 has just passed through China&#8217;s TENAA certification agency, thereby revealing its key specs and design.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, TENAA reveals that the mblu S6 will not come with the popular mBack home button that we are all used to seeing on <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/meizu/">Meizu</a> smartphones lately. In fact, we don&#8217;t see any kind of physical or capacitive buttons on the front, which means that the phone is going to rely on onscreen buttons for navigation.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-165240" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa.jpg?x10805" alt="mBlu s6 02 tenaa" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mBlu-s6-02-tenaa-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The front of the phone is similar to the Redmi 5 Plus, so there&#8217;s a large 5.7-inch 18:9 display with 1440 x 720p resolution. The back features the U-shaped antenna band design that has become so popular among metal smartphones in the past one year. The real highlight of the back is the mblu logo, which confirms that the S6 will be the first mblu branded smartphone to be released by the company.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-165239" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa.jpg?x10805" alt="mblu s6 01 tenaa" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/mblu-s6-01-tenaa-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>On the left you have the volume control buttons while on the right you have a power button. But just below the power button, you have a side mounted fingerprint sensor. Companies are usually hesitant to use a side fingerprint design but Meizu has decided to give it a try on this model. This keeps the back and front design neat and tidy.</p>
<p>As for the specs, the mBlu S6 comes with the hex-core Exynos 7872 (4 x A53 + 2 x A73) with Mali-G71 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 3000mAh battery with 9V / 2A 18W fast charging support.</p>
<p>Given the specs, the phone should compete directly with the Redmi 5 Plus, making its probable pricing in the 1000 Yuan segment.</p>
