<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-antutu.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-212674" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-antutu.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu 16x antutu" width="557" height="668" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-antutu.jpg 1067w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-antutu-250x300.jpg 250w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-antutu-768x921.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-antutu-854x1024.jpg 854w" sizes="(max-width: 557px) 100vw, 557px" /></a></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16x/">Meizu 16X</a> was launched late last year with a beautiful 6.1-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display from <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> with a 90.62% screen to body ratio. One of the highlights of the phone is its no-notch design, embracing a symmetric form factor with really thin bezels.</p>
<p>For those who aren&#8217;t really big fans of the recent notch design, this could be a really good option, especially because it features <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/19/meizu-m16x-antutu-scores-with-sd710/">Snapdragon 710 processor inside</a>. And did I mention that the phone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner? The camera isn&#8217;t very powerful featuring a 12MP + 2MP setup but it has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ois">OIS</a>. Also, the battery is only of 3100mAh capacity, which is less than average for a 2019 phone.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SseLZEM0YuA?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>However, the Meizu 16X can be a really good option for those looking for a symmetric and lightweight smartphone. The phone is just 7.5mm thick and weighs only 154 grams, making it extremely compact and easy to carry. Snapdragon 710 inside will also ensure that even the most demanding applications are handled pretty well. You can check out the discounted listing on JD.com from <a href="https://item.jd.com/100000400130.html">here</a>.</p>

With Apple releasing only flagship devices and Samsung struggling every day more to keep its first place in several Asian nations, Chinese smartphones seem to be becoming the best choice for people who want to save money. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16x">Meizu 16X</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/oppo-f9-pro">Oppo F9</a>, and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/vivo-v11-pro">Vivo V11</a> are three devices able to provide huge performances, a good photo quality, and stunning aesthetics without being expensive flagships, and you just need about €300 to grab a unit. If you are asking yourself which unit should you bring to your home, this comparison will clear your ideas.</p>

<h3></h3>
<h3>Design</h3>
<p>In my opinion, if you love beautiful smartphones, Oppo F9 (also known as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/15/oppo-f9-to-go-up-for-sale-on-flipkart-and-select-offline-stores-in-india/">F9 Pro</a> in India) is the one you should go for. It combines a stunning design with originality thanks to its gradient glass back with a diamond-like pattern. Even though it is less original, Vivo V11 (also known as V11 Pro) has nothing to envy with another glass back available in gradient colors. Further, both have a waterdrop notch and almost nonexistent bezels. Meizu 16X has the advantage of being symmetric due to its notchless display, but it is far from its opponents in terms of beauty.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Display</h3>
<p>Meizu 16X and Vivo V11 are the ones with the most premium displays, especially thanks to the AMOLED technology making their color rich and brilliant. Further, they both feature an in-display fingerprint reader for authentication. Given the slight difference in viewing quality, you can choose the display by basing on your tastes: do you like a notchless display with more bezels or a notched one with almost absent bezels around it? If you prefer the first, then go for the Meizu 16X, else choose Vivo V11.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Specs &amp; Software</h3>
<p>No stories: Meizu 16X is the most powerful handset of the trio. It features the new upper-midrange SoC Snapdragon 710 by Qualcomm which is definitely the best Qualcomm&#8217;s chipset if we exclude the 800 series. At the second place there is Vivo V11 with its Snapdragon 660, while at the third, with just marginal differences in performance, there is Oppo F9 and its Helio P60 by MediaTek. All of these devices come with a highly customized Android fork: Flyme OS for Meizu 16X, Color OS for Oppo F9 and Funtouch OS for Vivo V11.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Camera</h3>
<p>The camera department which convinces us the most, at least on the paper, is the one from Meizu 16X. We still did not have the chance to click a photo from this device as it was announced two days ago, but judging the specs we believe it will shoot better photos. It has a dual setup with OIS and a six-LED flash, as well as a laser autofocus mechanism: all things that improve photos and videos quality missing from the remaining two handsets which even feature lower resolutions for the secondary sensor.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Battery</h3>
<p>Oppo F9 has the biggest battery and it should last a bit more than both Vivo V11 and Meizu 16X. Not only it offers a big capacity of 3500 mAh, but it also features the fastest charging technology: VOOC flash charge, which can provide 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging. Given that it has the smallest battery with just 3100 mAh (against 3400 mAh of the Vivo V11), Meizu 16X should have the shortest battery life.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Price</h3>
<p>Prices are not an element you should consider so much if you want to choose a device from these three handsets. Meizu 16X carries a $305 price tag, Oppo F9 sells for $330 or less depending on the channel, and Vivo V11 starts from $270 (it depends on the market). I believe Vivo V11 is the perfect compromise it combines a great design with satisfying performance, a good battery life, and a nice photo quality, but if you are one of those users who only care about having the best performance, or you want the best camera out there at a modest price, go for the Meizu 16X.</p>

It is made available with 6GB RAM only, but what happened to the touted Meizu 16X 8 GB RAM variant? A Meziu fan asked the same question to the company&#8217;s founder, Huang Zhang. He responded by saying that &#8220;The supplier has not yet settled.” Well, this makes the picture clear that due to some problems with the components supply, the Meizu 16X 8GB RAM version has not announced.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-212630 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-1024x436.jpeg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X gold" width="640" height="273" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-1175x500.jpeg 1175w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7.jpeg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>Meizu has made it available in two different variants &#8211; 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB internal storage priced at 2098 Yuan ($306) and 2398 Yuan ($350) respectively. Currently, it is not clear whether Meizu will announce the 8GB RAM variant in the future or not. If we go with the tweet from the Huang Zhang, then it seems that Meizu is trying to solve the supply issues. Well, we have to wait for some official confirmation about its launch before ending up on any result.</p>
<h3>Meizu 16x Specs</h3>
<p>Additionally, it carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC developed with 10 nm process for better efficiency and increased performance. There&#8217;s an Adreno 616 GPU coupled with the chipset to improve the graphics performance of the device. It features a 6-inch AMOLED display having a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels.</p>
<p><a href="//www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu-16x/">Meizu 16X</a> features a 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel rear camera having features such as HDR, OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation).  On the front side, there&#8217;s a 20-megapixel camera for selfies with AI features such as face recognition and AI beautify. The Snapdragon 710 SoC carries upgraded Spectra 250 ISP which will bring better images than the spectra 160.</p>

<p>In the battery department, Meizu has added a 3100 mAh battery, sufficient to run it whole day upon full charge, claims Meizu. We hope to receive an official confirmation from Meizu regarding the Meizu 16X 8 GB RAM variant.</p>

We were lucky enough to get hands on with the device early on and now, we have our first impressions of the device. The phone has all the bells and whistles that you would expect from an upper mid-ranger and this includes a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. At the same time, the Meizu 16X doesn&#8217;t adopt the trending notch design. It has decided to follow its siblings from the 16th series, featuring a symmetric slim bezel design, which personally, I find to be quite beautiful.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212675" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu 16x sd 710 antutu scores" width="1280" height="853" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-1024x682.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></a></p>
<p>One of the biggest highlights of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16x/">Meizu 16X</a> is the presence of an in-screen fingerprint sensor. This is a feature that&#8217;s usually reserved for the top-end flagships. In fact, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/26/vivo-nex-with-pop-up-front-facing-camera-officially-lands-in-taiwan/">until recently</a>, it wasn&#8217;t even mainstream on flagship phones, so its really good to see this tech being incorporated in an upper mid-ranger.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="Meizu 16x Unboxing and First Impressions" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SseLZEM0YuA?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p>If you look at the specs, which includes the same camera setup as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16/">Meizu 16</a>, a SD710 processor with 6GB of RAM, in-screen fingerprint, and a refreshing symmetric design, the Meizu 16X doesn&#8217;t really look like a stripped down version of a flagship model. It can clearly stand on its own as a mid-range device. We even played some heavy games in our Meizu 16X hands on and the phone performed flawlessly without overheating. We also note out some differences between the new model and the flagship 16th series in the video.</p>

Now, we have got our hands on the Meizu 16X running on Snapdragon 710 onboard. As per the new benchmark on AnTuTu, Meizu 16X with SD 710 has scored 167058 points which is significantly better than the Snapdragon 660.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-212675 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-1024x682.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu 16x sd 710 antutu scores" width="640" height="426" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-sd-710-antutu-scores.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>There&#8217;s a huge difference in the scores of both Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 660, the latter scores around 120,000 points , while the 16X scores around 167,000 points. Given the chipset inside, the phone should have no trouble handling every day tasks, including gaming.</p>
<p>Additionally, Meizu 16X features 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with Adreno 616 GPU coupled with SD 710. The new chipset is built upon the 10nm manufacturing technology which tends to give more power with better efficiency. There&#8217;s an AMOLED display having more than 90% screen to body ratio. In the camera section, Meizu 16X packs 12 megapixel IMX380+ IMX350 dual cameras with a 20 MP front camera.</p>

The phone is meant for the younger generation crowd who are looking for up to date features at an affordable price tag. In many ways, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16x/">Meizu 16X</a> can be called as the stripped down version of the Meizu 16th, bringing great value for money in the process.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212631" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8.jpeg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X (8)" width="2048" height="871" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-8-1175x500.jpeg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu opts for a different design philosophy than other brands avoiding the notch and giving users a near full screen experience. The design on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu">Meizu</a> 16X is clearly carried forward from the flagship 16th series and you get the same symmetric and beautiful design on this cheaper model. It&#8217;s an all metal body and features a processed smooth finish at the back, ensuring that a cut down in price doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean a cheaper experience.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212630" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7.jpeg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X gold" width="2048" height="871" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-7-1175x500.jpeg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></a></p>
<p>The 16X comes in three color options: Jet Black, Noble Gold, and a special <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ru-white">Ru White</a>. The Ru white is said to be inspired by the famous Ruware chinese pottery and will come in a <em>ceramic metal finish</em>. This is why you&#8217;ll find U shaped antenna bands on the black and gold versions, but the white version comes in a cleaner finish without any antenna bands visible.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212629" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6.jpeg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X Ru White" width="2048" height="871" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-6-1175x500.jpeg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></a></p>
<p>Coming to the specs, the Meizu 16X features the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-710">Snapdragon 710</a> processor clocked up to 2.2GHz with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and Adreno 616 GPU. The new chipset is powerful as well as power efficient thanks to its new 10nm manufacturing technology. This should ensure that the 16X is superior in performance than the newly released Xiaomi mid-ranger, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/19/lei-jun-exposes-xiaomi-mi-8-lite-gradient-color-variant/">Mi 8 Lite</a> with SD660 on board.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5.jpeg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212628" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5.jpeg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X (5)" width="1200" height="511" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5.jpeg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-5-1175x500.jpeg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></a></p>
<p>Further, the Meizu 16X comes with an AMOLED 6-inch 2160&#215;1080 pixel resolution display featuring 90.62% screen to body ratio. For a mid-range smartphone, this is definitely a big upgrade in the display performance. You also get the new age in-screen fingerprint sensor up front, with 0.25s recognition speed and 99.12% recognition rate. As for the camera, you get the same setup as the flagship 16th series. This includes a powerful 20MP camera up front. The rear camera setup consists of 12MP IMX380+ IMX350 dual cameras with 1.55um large pixels, HDR, OIS and AI. Note that with the new SD710, you also get the upgraded Spectra 250 ISP that will deliver better results than 160 on the SD660. Finally, Meizu&#8217;s collaboration with ArcSoft continues for camera algorithms.</p>
<p>The battery isn&#8217;t very large, but at 3100mAh, it should be enough to last an entire day with normal usage. Meizu claims that the battery is good enough for 5.8 hours of continuous King of Glory game play.</p>

Similarly, today also Meizu took to Weibo to post a new teaser which is showing the device in new white color with the flagship device like build quality.  It seems Meizu is warming up the tech market for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/12/meizu-16x-september-19-launch-event-confirmed-will-rival-with-xiaomi-mi-8-youth-edition/">launch of Meizu 16X on September 19th</a> at the Beijing Performing Arts Center.</p>
<p>Therefore, as per the new teaser, it is clear that Meizu has created something crafty using the white color. Also, it would be awesome to hold device as it carries a much better build quality than the other mid-rangers.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-211886 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu 16x white" width="600" height="960" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/meizu-16x-188x300.jpg 188w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Along with the all new design and specs, Meizu is also going to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/14/meizus-new-accessory-incoming-alongside-the-meizu-16x/">launch a new accessory</a>, assuming it will be a pair of headphones or speaker, along with the Meizu 16X. Last week, in a<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/11/meizu-teases-the-launch-of-meizu-16x-more-details-coming-tomorrow/"> similar style Meizu teased</a> the launch of Meizu 16X. Additionally, as per <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/31/meizu-16x-to-arrive-with-8-gb-ram-128-gb-storage-confirms-meizu-ceo/">numerous leaks</a> it will carry a Snapdragon 710 SoC on board having 6.0 inch of display with the aspect ratio of 18:9. Meizu 16X will come with the 6GB RAM and 128GB of straoge with 3100 mAh battery on board.</p>
<p>In camera, there&#8217;s a IMX380+IMX350 dual Sony camera setup with ArcSoft technology as like of the Meizu 16. As <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/31/meizu-16x-full-specs-leaked-on-tenaa-ahead-of-september-launch/">per TENAA</a>, it measures 151.2 x 73.6 x 7.5 mm and weights at 154 grams. It has also <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/07/meizu-16x-obtains-good-score-on-antutu-but-lower-than-xiaomi-mi-8-se/">leaked on ANTUTU</a> where it scored 168,247 points against the overall performance. Despite the ongoing trend, it will not carry a notched display and will have screen size as like of Samsung devices.</p>

<p>Buyers who want to own it <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/14/meizu-16x-reservations-begin-on-several-online-stores/">can reserve their device</a> from various online and offline stores in China. The pricing is not available yet, but we think it should range between 2000 and 2500 Yuan (~$291-$363) . We have to wait for the launch to confirm the actual pricing, otherwise, let&#8217;s wait for a similar kind teaser revealing the price of Meizu 16X.</p>

But according to the official Weibo account of the company, the new device which will shine for its great quality-price ratio will not be alone. Alongside the upcoming upper-midranger, there will also be a new accessory, but unfortunately, the company did not reveal any details of the accessory.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-211795" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/audio.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="1066" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/audio.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/audio-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/audio-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>We only know that it will be related to audio, so we can assume that it will most likely be a new pair of headphones or a speaker. Headphones (or earphones) seem to be the most reliable hypothesis as the company already launched its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/08/meizu-gravity-speaker-finally-launches-for-%c2%a5999-146/">Gravity Speaker alongside the Meizu 16 series</a>. The company is known for making high quality audio products, so expect something good. But for now, our thoughts remain just speculations.</p>

</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to the company&#8217;s founder and CEO Jack Wong, Meizu 16X will be the best smartphone to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. And this confirms all the details surfaced in the last period. Meizu 16X will be the same device as Meizu 16 with two differences: the build quality and the chipset. So, we will also see the same powerful camera department as its older sibling with Sony sensors, 12 and 20 MP resolution, OIS and ArcSoft technology.</p>

This handset which is more focused on quality-price ratio will be officially announced on September 19, but the company has already opened reservations. You can reserve your unit of the device on the official store Meizu Mall as well as other important Chinese stores such as Jingdong Mall and more.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-211784" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/16x-1.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="295" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/16x-1.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/16x-1-300x148.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Sadly, the price tag of the upcoming device is still unknown, but if we base on the previous 16 line-up, it should range between 2000 and 2500 Yuan, that is equivalent to the price range from $292 to $365. Meizu 16X will differ from the vanilla Meizu 16 for its design and performance. Indeed, it should come with cheaper materials and under the hood, there will not be the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Instead, we will probably find the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/24/snapdragon-710-10nm-soc-to-bring-ai-and-flagship-features-to-less-expensive-phones/"> octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC</a> paired with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of internal storage depending on the configuration you will choose to buy.</p>

</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>On the other hand, there will be exactly the same rear cameras as the standard 16th, so you will get flagship-like camera performance. There will be a dual rear camera with ArcSoft technology composed of a Sony IMX380 sensor with a 20 MP resolution and a Sony IMX350 with a 12 MP resolution. According to the company&#8217;s CEO Jack Wong, there will also be optical stabilization. At last, there should be a 6-inch display with the AMOLED technology and a 3100 mAh battery.</p>

The company has posted a teaser image on its Weibo page with the text &#8220;see you tomorrow&#8221;. The image features sixteen &#8216;x&#8217;, clearly hinting that the teaser is related to the upcoming <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu/">Meizu</a> 16X.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s also a big &#8216;X&#8217; across the image in the background. From the posted teaser image, it seems that the company will reveal more details related to the smartphone&#8217;s launch tomorrow.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-211064 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-teaser-01.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X teaser 01" width="690" height="1104" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-teaser-01.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-teaser-01-188x300.jpg 188w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Meizu-16X-teaser-01-640x1024.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The Meizu 16X is expected to get launched by the end of this month. Earlier, Meizu’s CEO Jack Wang touted the 16X to be the strongest Snapdragon 710 phone. In addition, he shed light on the display screen parameters of the 16X, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/25/meizu-16x-details-confirmed-same-camera-with-16th-but-bigger-battery/">revealing</a> that the phone won&#8217;t feature a notched display and will instead utilize the same screen as Samsung’s Super AMOLED screen.</p>
<p>The phone was recently certified by TENAA, which revealed that it measures 151.2 x 73.6 x 7.5 mm and weights at 154 grams. It features a 6-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/24/snapdragon-710-10nm-soc-to-bring-ai-and-flagship-features-to-less-expensive-phones/">recently launched Snapdragon 710</a> processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.</p>
<p>There could also be a few other variants based on memory configuration, including the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. Recently, the Meizu 16X&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/07/meizu-16x-obtains-good-score-on-antutu-but-lower-than-xiaomi-mi-8-se/">AnTuTu benchmark score</a> surfaced online where it scored 168,247 which is not bad but it&#8217;s lower than the score of its direct rival Xiaomi Mi 8 SE.</p>

<p>For the photography, the device will feature a vertically stacked dual camera, consisting of a 20MP sensor and a 12MP sensor with 3x optical zoom. On the front side, it&#8217;ll be equipped with a 20 MP snapper for selfies. The phone is said to have a battery capacity of 3,000 mAh with the support of mCharge 4.0 technology.</p>

It should debut this month with an aggressive price tag, and now a real photo is giving us a glimpse of its performance. The photo shows the display of the phone after the user ran a test on AnTuTu Benchmark app, which is one of the most used apps to test smartphones&#8217; performance.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210490" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/16x.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="882" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/16x.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/16x-204x300.jpg 204w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>The result obtained by Meizu 16X is 168,247: definitely not bad, but it disappoints because it is lower than the score of its direct rival Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. Note that <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16">Meizu 16</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16-plus">16 Plus</a> with their Snapdragon 845 are able to reach almost 300,000 points on AnTuTu (about 290,000).</p>
<p>Meizu 16X has already been certified by TENAA, so we already know most of its specs sheet. It will measure 151.2 x 73.6 x 7.5 mm and it will weigh 154 grams. Its display will be an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>On the hardware side, we will find the Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, but the existence of other memory configurations is not excluded. On the rear side, there will be a vertical dual camera with resolutions of 12 and 20 Megapixel. The secondary lens will be able to do a 3x optical zoom. Further, there will be a great 20 MP snapper for selfies, while the battery will have a capacity of just 3000 mAh with the support of mCharge 4.0 technology.</p>

Since Meizu is known for releasing multiple variants of its smartphones, it appears that the 128 GB + 8 GB Meizu 16X could be the higher edition and there may be a lower variant too. Today, the alleged Meizu 16X has appeared with full specifications on TENAA, the telecom regulatory body of China.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16">Meizu 16th</a> has a model number of M882Q whereas the advanced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16-plus">Meizu 16th Plus</a> has a model number of M892Q. Hence, the Meizu M872Q that has now surfaced on TENAA with full specs could be the Meizu 16X that is confirmed to go official in September. The handset will be borrowing couple of features from Meizu 16th. It is expected to arrive as a worthy competitor for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-se">Xiaomi Mi 8 SE</a> smartphone.</p>
<p>Wong has previously claimed that the Meizu 16X will be sporting a larger display than the Mi 8 SE that features a 5.88-inch screen. The TENAA listing of the Meizu 16X has revealed that it will be a bigger device as it measures 151.2 x 73.6 x 7.5mm, weighs 154 grams and features 6-inch AMOLED screen. The display of Meizu 16X produces Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Like the Meizu 16th, the 16X features an in-display fingerprint scanner.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/30/meizu-16x-tenaa-listing-leaks-its-front-and-rear-design/meizu-16x-tenaa/" rel="attachment wp-att-208819"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-208819" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16X-TENAA.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X TENAA" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16X-TENAA.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16X-TENAA-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>The handset is fueled by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.2 GHz. This could be the Snapdragon 710 chipset. The TENAA listing further reveals that the handset runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and it features 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of inbuilt storage. The handset lacks support for external storage. It draws power from 3,000mAh battery that is equipped with fast charging support. At the back panel of the phone is 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel. It is fitted with a selfie camera of 20-megapixel. Wong has already confirmed that the Meizu 16X will be borrowing its cameras from the Meizu 16th handset. Rumors have it that the 16X will be priced between 2,000 Yuan (~$292) and 2,500 Yuan (~$366).</p>

Some of the specifications of the smartphone have been already declared by none other than <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/meizu">Meizu</a> CEO Jack Wong in the recent weeks. Yesterday, China’s TENAA regulatory body had leaked the images of the alleged <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16x">Meizu 16X</a> smartphone. Wong has now again shared fresh information on the key specs of the Meizu 16X.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/31/meizu-16x-to-arrive-with-8-gb-ram-128-gb-storage-confirms-meizu-ceo/meizu-16-configuration-by-jack-wong/" rel="attachment wp-att-209059"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-209059" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16-configuration-by-Jack-Wong.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="728" height="194" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16-configuration-by-Jack-Wong.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16-configuration-by-Jack-Wong-300x80.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></a></p>
<p>As it can be seen in the above image, Wong has confirmed that the Meizu 16X will be featuring 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS-based MCP storage. He added that because of the strong support from the vendors, the company has increased the configuration of the smartphone without increasing the price. A smartphone featuring 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage is expected to carry an expensive pricing, but since Meizu has managed to control the cost, the 128 GB + 8 GB Meizu 16X edition is likely to arrive with an attractive price tag.</p>
<p>Wong has previously stated that the Meizu 16X will be fueled by Snapdragon 710. Also, it will be borrowing some key features from the Meizu 16th smartphone such as Super AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint scanner and 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera. The Meizu 16 is packed with a 3,010mAh battery, but the 16X is expected to arrive with a larger battery.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/30/meizu-16x-tenaa-listing-leaks-its-front-and-rear-design/meizu-16x-tenaa/" rel="attachment wp-att-208819"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-208819" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16X-TENAA.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="600" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16X-TENAA.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Meizu-16X-TENAA-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>As mentioned above, the Meizu 16X smartphone seems to have appeared on TENAA. In terms of appearance, the Meizu 16X boasts identical symmetrical design as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16">Meizu 16th</a> smartphone. The front side of the phone is very clear in the above, but it seems to resemble the Meizu 16. At the backside, it features a vertical dual camera setup followed by a ring flash. It is speculated that there will be another variant of the Meizu 16X that will feature 64 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM.</p>
<p>The exact launch date of the Meizu 16X is yet to be declared. The handset is expected to be priced between 2,000 Yuan (~$292) and 2,500 Yuan (~$366).</p>

<p>Jack Wong, the CEO of Meizu has already confirmed that the Meizu 16X will be powered by Snapdragon 710 and it will be also equipped with in-display fingerprint scanner. The M872Q handset has appeared with its front and rear images on TENAA. The listing is expected to be updated with its specifications very soon.</p>

The quaity of the smartphones in relation to their price tag has kept followers of the brand spell bound. The company later hinted that it wasn&#8217;t done with amazing releases just yet as a midrange model dubbed Meizu 16X is in the works. Meizu&#8217;s CEO Jack Wang also revealed on the Meizu Community that the company is working on the Meizu X8. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16-features.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-205217" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16-features.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu 16" width="720" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16-features.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16-features-300x175.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, Jack Wong has always been a source of details on pre-launch Meizu models. He shared a couple of details of the Meizu 16 before teh device was launched. The CEO has also revealed some details of the upcoming Meizu 16X on the Meizu Community and we have made a compilation of them. One major aspect we picked from his series of comments is that the Meizu 16X and 16 are not very much different in terms of design.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207961" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-3.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X" width="588" height="82" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-3.png 588w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-3-300x42.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px" /><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207959" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X" width="593" height="85" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x.png 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-300x43.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 593px) 100vw, 593px" /></a><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-2.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207960" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-2.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X" width="608" height="80" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-2.png 608w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-2-300x39.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 608px) 100vw, 608px" /></a></p>
<p>The Meizu 16X is expected to be released in September and it will feature a Snapdragon 710 chipset. Mr Wong in a recent comment on the forum touted the 16X to be the strongest Snapdragon 710 phone. In addition, he shed light on the display screen parameters of the 16X. The CEO revealed that the Meizu 16X will not feature a notch display design and will utilise the same screen as Samsung&#8217;s Super AMOLED screen. He noted the difficulty in getting the supply chain to deliver displays without notch as they think that is the future of smartphones. Jack Wong thinks differently and even went on to state that the water drop design used on the OPPO R17 as well as the pop-up design OPPO Find X and Vivo NEX feature are not the future of smartphone designs. The opinion is exclusively his and time will tell if he&#8217;s correct or not. But his comment stems from the fact that innovation seems to be giving way to copycat designs in the adoption of the notch that isn&#8217;t a popular design among smartphone users.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-4.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207962" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-4.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X" width="762" height="104" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-4.png 762w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-4-300x41.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 762px) 100vw, 762px" /></a><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-5.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-207963" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-5.png?x44794" alt="Meizu 16X" width="760" height="120" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-5.png 760w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/meizu-16x-5-300x47.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px" /></a></p>

<p>In addition, the 16X camera is also revealed to be the same with the 16th. However, the CEO noted that the battery will be bigger. Recall that the Meizu 16th packs a 3010mAh battery which left some persons disappointed.</p>

<p>The alleged Meizu 16X that has appeared on Geekbench is running on Android 8.1 Oreo. The SoC is coupled with 6 GB of RAM. In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the smartphone has respectively scored 1851 and 5558. One of the recent <a href="http://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/9336037">Geekbench listing of Xiaomi Mi 8 SE</a> that features Snapdragon 710, 6 GB of RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo shows that it has scored 1839 and 5882 respectively in single-core and multi-core tests. This suggests that the Meizu 16X will be arriving as a good rival for the Mi 8 SE.</p>
<p>The<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16/"> Meizu 16</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-16-plus">Meizu 16 Plus</a> that were unveiled on Aug. 8 came with in-display fingerprint scanner enabled 18:9 aspect ratio S-AMOLED screens. Since the Meizu 16X is not a flagship phone, it is unlikely to arrive with in-screen fingerprint reader. A leaked photo of the Meizu 16X that had surfaced in the recent past had revealed that it would be arriving with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/08/09/meizu-16x-with-snapdragon-710-cheaper-pricing-arriving-in-september/2698%20yuan%20in%20usd">notched screen</a>. Jack Wong, the CEO of Meizu has said that the display of the Meizu 16X will be larger than that of Mi 8 SE.</p>
