Meizu has unveiled the Meizu M2 Note, which brings a lot of much needed upgrade to the existing Meizu M1 Note edition. Its hardly been six months since we saw the first model in the company&#8217;s Blue Charm series and within this short span, this will mark the third launch in the lineup.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01-.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49624" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01--1024x615.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m2 note 01" width="800" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01--1024x615.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01--300x180.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01--700x420.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01--640x384.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01--681x409.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-01-.jpg 1043w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>The Meizu M2 Note continues with the same unibody design as the existing version, but is now slightly thinner (by 0.2mm) and comes with a beautiful grey matte finish that we saw in the leaked pictures. The weight is slightly increased to 149 grams, but that&#8217;s should make much difference.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49623" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02-1024x511.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m2 note 02" width="800" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02-1024x511.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02-842x420.jpg 842w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02-640x319.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02-681x340.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-02.jpg 1049w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>The biggest change in the design is the new physical home button, just below the display. Its the same oval shaped button that we saw in the leaked images a few days back. The company adds that you can tap to return or press to go back to home. You also get the power button on the right side, instead of the top.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49621" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04-1024x593.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m2 note 04" width="800" height="463" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04-1024x593.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04-300x174.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04-726x420.jpg 726w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04-640x370.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04-681x394.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-04.jpg 1052w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>What&#8217;s more, in the specs front too, Meizu has made some interesting changes on the new device. It comes with the MT6753 octa-core chip clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB RAM and Mali-T720 GPU. You get the same 5.5-inch full HD 1080p screen with IGZO display technology (low power consuming tech) on the device. This translates into an impressive pixel density of 403 ppi. The interal storage remains at 16GB but you can now expand it up to 128GB via MicroSD. This was a well needed upgrade for the device.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49620" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05-1024x530.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m2 note 05" width="800" height="414" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05-1024x530.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05-300x155.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05-811x420.jpg 811w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05-640x331.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05-681x353.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-05.jpg 1060w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>The phone supports both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE, translating into support for 5 network types across 13 frequencies. It supports dual SIM dual Standby and dual 4G. There will be the same 13MP camera at the back, but an improved ISP should ensure better camera performance. The front camera remains the same as the existing M1 Note, i.e. 5MP with beauty mode. The Meizu M2 Note comes with a 3100mAh battery supplied by Sony. It will run on the Android 5.0 based Flyme 4.5 UI.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-03.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49622" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-03.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m2 note 03" width="598" height="666" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-03.jpg 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-03-269x300.jpg 269w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-m2-note-03-377x420.jpg 377w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, you must be wondering with a few changes in the device, the Meizu M2 Note will cost more than the M1 Note. However, the company has managed to surprise everyone by pricing it lower than the MT6752 powered M1 Note.</p>
<p>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIWcPILjUt8</p>
<p>So, the China Unicom and China Mobile editions of the device will start at 799 Yuan ($128.85) for the 16GB model while the 32GB one will cost 999 Yuan ($161).</p>

It looks like the phone has been listed on the e-commerce site today for a price tag of 1299 Yuan.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49471" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing.png?x10805" alt="meizu blue charm note 2 listing" width="993" height="466" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing.png 993w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing-300x141.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing-895x420.png 895w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing-640x300.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-listing-681x320.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 993px) 100vw, 993px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Yes, contrary to earlier rumors which said that the phone will most likely retain the same 999 Yuan price tag as the Meizu M1 Note, it looks like this phone will be priced 300 Yuan more. While JD.com is already accepting registrations for the said device, the phone will start selling only from June 18. The product page for the Blue Charm Note 2 adds that the final price may change after the official announcement on June 2. So we are not yet sure whether the company is launching the device for 1299 Yuan.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49472" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-1024x420.png?x10805" alt="meizu blue charm note 2" width="800" height="328" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-1024x420.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-300x123.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-640x262.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-681x279.png 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/meizu-blue-charm-note-2.png 1212w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Unfortunately, we are still not sure about the specs of the device.  <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/28/meizu-m1-note-2-leaked-again-oval-shaped-physical-home-button-spotted/" target="_blank">Geekbench listing </a>has revealed that the phone will most likely come with the new MT6753 octa-core processor with additional network connectivity, with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM. While the listing says that the phone will feature a 4.6-inch 1080p display, from the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/27/meizu-kind-of-confirms-a-side-placed-power-button-for-its-blue-charm-note-2-handset/" target="_blank">pictures leaked recently</a>, it looks like the new Blue Charm device will retain the same 5.5-inch screen as its sister Meizu M1 Note model.</p>

<p>Also, its almost confirmed that the phone will feature a physical oval shaped home button with a metal frame and a plastic back. Also, the power is moved to the right side, according to a teaser image from the company. The official launch is tomorrow, so we will finally know the full details about the device pretty soon.</p>

While the company hadn&#8217;t officially revealed the existence of the device, earlier today, China&#8217;s leading e-commerce website, JD.com announced via its Weibo account that Meizu&#8217;s Blue Charm Note 2 will be launching on June 2. The company has an event scheduled on the same day, which kind of confirms that it is for the launch of this phone.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49046" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2.png?x10805" alt="blue charm note 2" width="599" height="226" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2.png 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-300x113.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></a></p>
<p>Alongside this M1 Note 2 launch, we expect a <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/22/meizu-reportedly-launching-four-new-products-including-a-router-in-june/">bunch of new accessories in the same Blue Charm range from the company</a>. A recently created and verified Weibo page for Meizu accessories has posted around four teasers / posters for products that will be launching on June 2. Judging from the pictures, the four new products would be a powerbank, a fan, a router and a smart band. Of course, these are just a few guesses from the icons on the pictures and the actual products could be different.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49044" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD-652x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="blue charm note 2 poster JD" width="652" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD-652x1024.jpg 652w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD-191x300.jpg 191w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD-267x420.jpg 267w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD-640x1006.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD-681x1070.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/blue-charm-note-2-poster-JD.jpg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 652px) 100vw, 652px" /></a></p>
<p>The previous leaked revealed that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/25/meizu-blue-charm-note-2-leaked-in-beautiful-gray-sports-power-button-on-the-side/">Blue Charm Note 2 will feature a side placed power button</a>, instead of the traditional top placed one. Also, the phone could have an oval shaped home button, just below the display. However, its unlikely that the phone will have a fingerprint recognition module inside the button.</p>
<p>Since June 2 is only a week away, we can patiently wait for more official details from the company. So, stay tuned.</p>

<p>However, it looks like Meizu may have finally decided to follow the crowd as a new leak of the upcoming Meizu M1 Note 2 handset reveals a side placed power button. Despite the resemblance to the M1 Note, from the power button placement, we know that this is a new Meizu handset and not an existing one.</p>
<p>The one who leaked this picture also reveals that this is the gray version of the Blue Charm Note 2 handset. And the color does looks extremely good on the device. It looks like the phone continues with the iPhone 5C like unibody design. Unfortunately, at this moment, we have very little details about the configuration of the Blue Charm Note 2. Also, earlier reports have suggested that this could be just a variant of the device and not exactly a successor to the existing <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/12/23/meizu-blue-charm-note-official-5-5-inch-octa-core-beast-160/">Meizu M1 (Blue Charm) Note</a>, since the phone is only about six months old.</p>
<p>However, the leakster further confirms that we should see the device on the June 2 conference, which is just a week away. So, expect a lot more details in the coming days.</p>
