We are talking about the Spring Stable version, but new updates will also roll out to the users who adhered to the beta testing phase. Considering that this is an important version of the UI, it will include a big change log with many important features. The most important one is Meizu Pay: the payment system has been adapted to the new user interface and it will work perfectly with the new update. A new &#8220;Game Mode 2.0&#8221; will be present in the new firmware, but it will only be supported by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-x/">Meizu X</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-e2/">Meizu E2</a>. There are two major improvements in this update: it increases the fluidity of the OS and reduces memory consumption.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/flyme-os.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-144820" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/flyme-os.png?x10805" alt="flyme os" width="720" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/flyme-os.png 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/flyme-os-300x125.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>Some anomalies in the game mode have been fixed, as well as some bugs with the camera and the problems with the vibration seen in the previous version of the firmware. Flyme 6, according to the changelog, has solved the problem related to an excessive battery drain when the phones are in standby mode and in some other scenarios. The system stability and the smoothness have been improved as well with the new user interface. On <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m6/">Meizu M6</a>, a vertical multi-tasking mode has been added, and there are also some additional bug fixes.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Besides unlocked units, carrier-branded units of these phones will be updated to Flyme 6 Spring stable version too: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m3-note-2/">Meizu M3 Note</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m5-note/">M5 Note</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m6-note/">M6 Note</a>, E2, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-pro-7">Pro 7 Standard Edition</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m6">M6</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m5">M5 </a>and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-m5s">M5s</a>. Note that, according to a new teaser, Meizu was expected to unveil Flyme 7 on February 24 but that unfortunately turned out to be false. If Flyme 7 is to be released in the coming months, it should likely be on the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-15/"> Meizu 15</a>, which is the next flagship of the company dedicated to its 15th anniversary (it will come<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/22/meizu-15-plus-renders-leaked/"> together with a Plus version</a>).</p>

However, after this event, the company reportedly has another event scheduled on September 13, where we expect the <strong>Meizu Pro 7 flagship</strong> to be unveiled. The company is said to go back to Samsung&#8217;s Exynos series, this time, Exynos 8890 for the Pro 7 flagship. Now, the latest information from China reveals that alongside the new flagship phone, the company could also release its Flyme 6 OS.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55899" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1.png?x10805" alt="Meizu-flyme-5.0" width="535" height="535" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1.png 535w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 535px) 100vw, 535px" /></a></p>
<p>It&#8217;s been almost a year since Flyme 5 was announced, so it&#8217;s about time we saw the next version of the Flyme UI. In case you are wondering, there is a possibility that the Pro 7 won&#8217;t come with Flyme 6 UI pre-installed, since last year, we saw that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/17/meizu-pro-5-wont-come-with-flyme-5-os-at-launch/">Flyme 5 OS was announced alongside the Pro 5 flagship</a> but was only <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/11/15/meizu-pro-5-receives-flyme-5-beta-update-finally/">available for the device after a few months</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">READ MORE:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/07/05/meizu-pro-7-first-images-leaked/">Meizu Pro 7: First images leaked</a></strong></p>
<p>As for the Pro 7, unlike the Pro 6 which came with only enough specs to be considered as a flagship device, i<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/21/meizu-pro-7-two-versions-curved-flat-displays/">t is expected to come with</a> power packed features such as Exynos 8890, 4GB / 6GB RAM variants, curved display and 12MP rear camera.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88599" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu pro 7 leak" width="640" height="363" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak-300x170.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>The pricing of the device was also leaked before. It is said that the Pro 7 with 4GB RAM would cost 2799 Yuan ($420) and the one with 6GB RAM would cost 3099 Yuan ($465). Of course, as of now, we can&#8217;t be sure of the pricing, but expect more details in the coming days.</p>

Today, after much waiting, Meizu released a brand new device, the Meizu M3S. This particular device will be a slight upgrade as compared to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/25/meizu-m3-budget-phone-announced/">Meizu M3 that was released back in April</a>, coming with a metal body and adding fingerprint ID as well as a couple more features in the specs department.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-85707" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-01.png?x10805" alt="meizu m3s 01" width="602" height="644" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-01.png 602w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-01-280x300.png 280w" sizes="(max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px" /></p>
<p>First of all, Meizu has upgraded the body on the Meizu M3S to metal, which makes the device look much more premium than the polycarbonate Meizu M3. The overall dimensions will remain the same as before, i.e. 141.9 x 69.9 x 8.3mm but the owing to the metal body, the weight is slightly increased to 138 grams. In comparison, the Meizu M3 weighed 132 grams, so not a big increase in this department.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-85704" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-02.png?x10805" alt="meizu m3s 02" width="865" height="529" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-02.png 865w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-02-300x183.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-02-768x470.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 865px) 100vw, 865px" /></p>
<p>Given that the phone now comes in a metal built, Meizu has also added the popular rose gold color option along with the grey, silver, and gold options. For a smartphone that costs just 699 Yuan or $106, these are some pretty great options.</p>
<p>Apart from upgrading the body to metal, Meizu has now incorporated a home button enabled fingerprint sensor on the Meizu M3S. The phone is using the company&#8217;s mTouch 2.1, which can be used to unlock the device with fingerprint, make payments, encrypt apps and comes with other mBack features. Another upgrade is seen in the battery department, increasing the capacity from 2870mAh to 3020mAh on the new M3S model.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-85705" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-mtocuh.png?x10805" alt="meizu m3s mtouch" width="913" height="466" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-mtocuh.png 913w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-mtocuh-300x153.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/meizu-m3s-mtocuh-768x392.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 913px) 100vw, 913px" /></p>
<p>Rest of the specs are the same as the Meizu M3. So, the phone comes with a 5-inch 720p display with 2.5D curved glass and Mediatek&#8217;s MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz inside. There will be 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM and 3GB + 32GB ROM options which are eMMC 5.0 storages along with MicroSD expansion. Coming to the camera, the phone features a 13MP f/2.2 aperture lens at the back with color temperature flash and PDAF. <h2>Updates &amp; Custom Roms for Elephone Trunk &amp; P8000</h2>
<p>The guys and girls over on the <a href="http://www.elephone.hk">Elephone</a> forums have been busy bunnies and today we have news of Updates &amp; Custom Roms for Elephone Trunk &amp; P8000</p>
<p>The first Rom and the Rom that will certainly be getting a lot of attention from  custom Rom installers like myself is the<span class="s1"> Elephone Trunk port of <a href="http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-9345-1-1.html#.Vl7dw9_hA_U">Cyanogenmod 13</a> the build date for the Rom is 2015-11-24 just over a week ago. the Rom is </span><span class="s1">based on Android 6.0 making the Trunk one of the first phones from China to run the latest Marshmallow OS.</span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-apps.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65900" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-apps.png?x10805" alt="Elephone Custom Roms and Updates for the P8000 and Trunk cm13 apps" width="450" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-apps.png 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-apps-169x300.png 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-apps-236x420.png 236w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></a></p>
<p>It will be interesting trying out this version of the OS and getting to see how well the Trunk runs <a href="http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-9345-1-1.html#.Vl7dw9_hA_U">Cyanogenmod 13</a> seeing what works and what bugs there are to iron out.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-about.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-65899" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-about.png?x10805" alt="Updates &amp; Custom Roms for Elephone Trunk &amp; P8000 Trunk cm13 about" width="450" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-about.png 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-about-169x300.png 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Elephone-Custom-Roms-and-Updates-for-the-P8000-and-Trunk-cm13-about-236x420.png 236w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></a></p>
<p>As the Trunk is running a Qualcomm CPU and has identical hardware to the ARK Benefit A3 that it is getting a fair amount of attention from Russian devs, we should start to see a lot more Roms soon.</p>
<p>The second Rom is an update to the previous version of the <a href="http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-9343-1-1.html#.Vl5pUHYrKM9">Meizu Flyme rom,</a> this new Rom version is 4.5.4 the build date is 2015-12-01 and the Rom is based on Android 5.1</p>
