In the Chinese market, we have already seen two great 6-inch+ smartphones, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/07/nubia-z11-max-vs-xiaomi-mi-max-one-choose/">Nubia Z11 Max and the Xiaomi Mi Max</a>. Now, Meizu is here to join the party with its brand new Meizu M3 Max phablet.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02.jpeg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-96689" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02.jpeg?x10805" alt="meizu m3 max 02" width="1500" height="638" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02.jpeg 1500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02-768x327.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02-1024x436.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-02-1175x500.jpeg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /></a></p>
<p>The Meizu M3 Max comes with a familiar Meizu design, which includes an all metal body with dual CNC processing. The design looks pretty decent (similar to the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/10/meizu-m3e-official-helio-p10-13mp-sony-imx258-sensor-3100mah-battery/"> Meizu M3E</a>) and the availability of four color option is definitely an added plus. You have the option to choose between Champagne Gold, Gray, Silver and Rose Gold colors. It&#8217;s pretty thin as well, measuring just 7.9mm in thickness (<strong>Full measurements:</strong> 163.4 x 81.6 x 7.94mm), however, the Mi Max is thinner with a 7.5mm body. All the ports seem to be located at the bottom of the device, including the USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and speakers. Like always, the fingerprint sensor-enabled mBack button is located up front, below the display.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-96688" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu m3 max colors" width="2047" height="871" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors.jpg 2047w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors-768x327.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors-1024x436.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-colors-1175x500.jpg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 2047px) 100vw, 2047px" /></a></p>
<p>Inside, the M3 Max comes with the Helio P10 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. The display is a 6-inch IPS LCD panel with 1080p resolution. Unfortunately, no 2K resolution version available. As for the memory, there will be 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. You can further expand this up to 128GB via MicroSD.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-01.jpeg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-96690" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-01.jpeg?x10805" alt="meizu m3 max 01" width="800" height="340" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-01.jpeg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-01-300x128.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-m3-max-01-768x326.jpeg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>At the back, the Meizu M3 Max comes with a 13MP Sony IMX258 camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and dual LED flash. Up front, there is a 5MP shooter.</p>
<p>Inside, the Meizu M3 Max comes with a 4100mAh battery with 24W mCharge fast charging technology. This reportedly charges the phone up to 45% in half an hour. That&#8217;s pretty good considering the size of the battery on board. Other features of the device are pretty standard like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoLTE, infrared etc. Fingerprint payment is also supported (Alipay and WeChat).</p>
<p>This new phablet from Meizu is priced at 1699 Yuan ($255) and at present, there seems to be just one version (3GB + 64GB). The phone will go on sale from September 15 and the reservations for the sale start today.</p>

The image which is also a clever play on the launch date shows the phone&#8217;s battery usage of 9 hours and 5 minutes. The battery indicator shows that there is still 29% battery left which should still offer close to 2 hours of on-screen time. We still don&#8217;t know the battery capacity but should be close to 5000mAh or even more to pull this off.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-96549" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-M3-Max-poster.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu M3 Max poster" width="600" height="1023" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-M3-Max-poster.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-M3-Max-poster-176x300.jpg 176w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Meizu M3 Max is said to launch with a 6&#8221; screen, 3GB of RAM, and have a version with a stylus called the mPen. Earlier news mentioned it was going to be the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/30/meizu-m3-max-will-mpen-stylus-helio-p20-cost-1799-yuan/">first phone to launch with the Helio P20 SoC</a> but what we saw on Geekbench a few days ago was the M3 Max with Helio P10.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Since the launch is less than 24 hours away, we should be able to confirm the full specifications of the phone. We are pretty excited to see what Meizu has cooked up with their mPen.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Meizu M3 Max will cost 1799 Yuan ($269) for the base version with 32GB storage and 1999 Yuan ($299) for the model with the stylus and 64GB storage.</p>

The phone is expected to be Meizu&#8217;s take on the Xiaomi Mi Max.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Earlier this week, we reported that the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/30/meizu-m3-max-will-mpen-stylus-helio-p20-cost-1799-yuan/"> Meizu M3 Max is going to be the first phone to launch with a Helio P20 SoC</a> but a benchmarking result of a phone with the Meizu M3 Max name instead shows a MT6755M a.k.a. Helio P10.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-96367" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/GeekBench-M3-Max.jpg?x10805" alt="GeekBench M3 Max" width="661" height="539" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/GeekBench-M3-Max.jpg 661w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/GeekBench-M3-Max-300x245.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 661px) 100vw, 661px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">While this is surprising, we want to believe that there is still a possibility of the Helio P20 chip showing up in the device. First, this benchmark result shows it was updated on August 22 which is about a week before the P20 news. There might have been a major change within a week with respect to the chip.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Another way to look at it is the fact that there are two versions coming out: a stylus-sporting unit and a base version without the mPen. It is possible that the version with the stylus may be getting the new chip. These are the reasons why we are not ruling out the possibility of the Meizu M3 Max launching with the processor. These are speculations though and we can only hope it turns out to be correct.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The geekbench test shows the phone scoring 785 points on the single-core test and 3041 points on the multi-core test. It also indicates that the phone has 3GB of RAM.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The launch of the Meizu M3 Max is said to be in Beijing on the 5th of September.</p>

Now, the company seems to be following a similar strategy as Meizu has a new event scheduled for September 5, where we will most likely meet the Meizu Max (or Meizu M3 Max). This will make it the third smartphone launch (fourth launch in reality since there were <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/23/meizu-u10-u20-mid-budget-smartphones-unveiled/">two phones announced in the new U series</a> &#8212; U10 and U20) within a month, after the launch of <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/10/meizu-m3e-official-helio-p10-13mp-sony-imx258-sensor-3100mah-battery/">Meizu M3E on August 10</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-2.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-95327" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-2.png?x10805" alt="meizu max" width="610" height="833" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-2.png 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-2-220x300.png 220w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>The latest leak, now, gives us the first possible glimpse of the Meizu Max. This is the first time we are seeing the upcoming handset in real life. The phone does look big, which is in line with the rumors that have been going around. The Meizu Max, like the name suggest, is probably going to be a phablet, coming with a large display around 6-inches. The company&#8217;s invites came with <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/24/meizu-september-5-release-new-phone/">the business class Nokia E71 handset</a>, which hinted that the handset would be ideal for business users as well.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max.jpg?x10805'><img width="600" height="712" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="meizu max 01" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max-253x300.jpg 253w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max-02.jpg?x10805'><img width="600" height="723" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max-02.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="meizu max 02" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max-02.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/meizu-max-02-249x300.jpg 249w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>

<p>There&#8217;s not much difference in design as seen in these alleged images as compared to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/10/the-meizu-m3e/">Meizu M3E that was announced earlier </a>in August. The back is plain, conforming with Meizu&#8217;s recent design language. Nothing out of the ordinary. So, it looks like the Meizu Max (or M3 Max) will be an enlarged version of the M3E model. Of course, there is a possibility that the design on the Max could be different. But considering that Meizu has been lazy with its design, using almost the same design language on all its recent phones, this probably is what the Max will look like.</p>

<p>As for the pricing, we can expect the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/26/meizu-max-cost-1799-yuan-270/">Max to retail around 1799 Yuan</a> ($270).</p>

<p>In case you are wondering, this is what the Meizu M3E looks like.</p>
