Today is a special day for Xiaomi and Meizu fans, as both, the companies are coming with their new devices. Xiaomi is going to launch much-awaited Mi Mix 3 with a slider design and other high-end specs. On the other hand, Meizu will announce its Meizu M8 at a launch event in China.

Today, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is making an official debut at a launch event at Forbidden City in Beijing, China at 14:00 Beijing Time (11:30 IST/ 7:00 GMT). Xiaomi’s Lei Jun explained the motive behind choosing the Forbidden city to launch Mi Mix 3. As according to him the place is itself a fusion of technology and art which reflects Mi Mix 3’s features. Additionally, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is coming with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It is the world’s first smartphone to carry 5G support along with 10 GB of RAM. There are multiple ram variants like 6GB/8GB and 10 GB. It features a display of 6.5 inches having a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. In the camera department, Xiaomi has 12+20 megapixels of the dual shooter which can capture lots of light in the night time also. On the front, there is a 24-megapixel dual camera for selfies and video calling.

Meizu M8 launch event details and live stream

Meizu M8 is also ready to surprise the users by launching Meizu M8 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. Unlike Xiaomi, Meizu has just stuck to online live stream after their offline event was canceled due to some issues with the venue. Interested users can head over to the live stream link to watch the launch of Meizu M8 on October 25 at 19:30 hours.

Meizu M8 is coming with a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with 3210 mAh battery. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset with different RAM variants of 4/6GB. It is featured with a 20-megapixel camera on the front while 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera shooter sits on the rear side.  It is expected to retail at the price of 1000-1500 yuan (~$144-$216). It will be made available in two different colors of purple and blue.

Meizu has cited some “site reasons” behind the cancellation of the launch event. The event site, Beijing Performing Arts center has some issues which led to the cancellation of the event.  Well, it seems quite absurd as many OEMs launch their devices at the same venue and has never met with these issues.

Well, whatever the actual reason is, it will remain under wraps as no one is going to give an explanation about it. So, for now, users can stick with the online broadcast at 19:30 Beijing Time (11:30 AM GMT) on October 25th. We will share the live streaming details on the day of Meizu M8 Note launch.

As far as the specs are concerned, Meizu M8 Note is touted as the “national camera phone” by the company. It will be interesting to know, how Meizu M8 Note camera stands against its competitors. Meizu is on the verge of launching a new device, Meizu M8 Note at an event at the Beijing Performing Arts Center on October 25th at 14:30 pm under the tagline of “National camera phone.” Meizu M8 Note has been leaking from past several weeks revealing its most of the specs. Today, Meizu posted a teaser on Weibo to confirm its promising camera that has been added to compete against biggies in the same segment. It will carry a larger screen, lighter and thinner design and longer battery life than its predecessor.

In a newly published poster, it can be directly seen that Meizu M8 Note will carry an extraordinary camera. It will host the same camera module as like of the Samsung Galaxy S7. There will be a 12 megapixel + 5-megapixel dual shooter with a 1.4μm large photosensitive pixel and f/1.9 large aperture. On the front side, there will be an 8-megapixel camera for beautiful selfies.

There are plenty other selling points that Meizu M8 Note will carry. As per the information from a certification agency, Meizu M8 Note will carry a 6.0-inch display with the resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels having an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will come packed with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz speed and coupled with a 4GB RAM. Meizu M8 Note is expected to ship in multiple storage variants but only 64GB storage variant is confirmed as of now.

A few days ago, the Meizu M8 Lite was seen on TENAA. Now the Meizu M8 has appeared on the agency’s website. The M8 has similar specs as the M8 Lite but has a more powerful processor and dual rear cameras.

The Meizu M8 has model number M813Q. It sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display which doesn’t have a notch. It is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor which we think might be the Helio P60. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Users will be able to add up to an extra 128GB of storage via a MicroSD card slot.

There are dual cameras on the back of the device in a 12MP + 5MP configuration and above the display is a 5MP front-facing camera. Below the rear cameras is a fingerprint scanner.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and packs a 3,000mAh battery. It measures 147.58 × 72.76 × 8.1 (mm) and weighs 159 grams. When it launches it will come in black, gold, and silver.

Now that both the Meizu M8 and M8 Lite have been certified, we expect Meizu to announce a release date.

The Meizu M816Q smartphone had popped up with its images on China’s TENAA certification body yesterday. Meizu CEO Jack Wong had recently confirmed that the Meizu X8 and Meizu X16 are the two upcoming phones from the company. Since Meizu M816Q had appeared without any specifications on TENAA yesterday, various tech sites have speculated that it could either be Meizu X8 or Meizu X16. Earlier in this month, a Meizu phone with model number M816H was certified by Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) as Meizu M8 Lite. Hence, it is likely that the M816Q could be the Chinese edition of the Meizu M8 Lite. The M816Q listing on TENAA has now been updated with full specifications through which it can be confirmed that it is low-end smartphone.

The updated TENAA listing of Meizu M8 Lite M816Q reveals that the handset measures 148.09 x 73 x 8.4mm and it weighs 145 grams. The device is fitted with a 5.7-inch display that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It receives power from 3,100mAh battery.

The Meizu M8 Lite is fueled by 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that is coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The handset features an internal storage of 32 GB and it is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo. It is equipped with a microSD card slot for additional storage.

The back panel of the M8 Lite features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a fingerprint scanner. For shooting selfies, it is fitted with a front-facing snapper of 5-megapixel.

If the Meizu M8 Lite exists, there is a possibility that the company may also introduce Meizu M8 phone with slightly advanced specifications since it has been approved by EEC body. In the recent past, the EEC has also approved some other Meizu phone such as Meizu C9, Meizu C9 Pro, Meizu Note 9 and Meizu NoteX.

As of this writing, there is no information available on the launch date or pricing of the Meizu M8 Lite. Now that it has made its appearance on TENAA, its launch may not be far away.
