The phone comes with a totally different design seen as compared to the previous Meizu devices, which I feel is a welcome change.

We are not yet sure of the name, as ideally, Blue Charm devices have the ‘M’ Prefix and this could end up being called as the Meizu MX. But that would be confusing since there’s already an MX series, so for now, we are calling it the Meizu X.

First up, the Meizu X model comes with 2.5D curved glass with double ceramic crystal coating process. This will make the phone look super premium, especially when it comes in four beautiful colors namely Black, Blue, Gold, and White. Meizu’s devices had started to look more or less the same in the past couple of years, so I feel this design will be welcomed by fans.

The Meizu X comes with a 5.5-inch FHD display from Sharp and uses TDDI display touch technology for better touch accuracy. Further, the phone’s display uses full Incell technology which will make sure that the panel is thin and looks great.

In the hardware department, the Meizu X doesn’t disappoint. As expected, the phone comes with the Helio P20 chipset (MT6757), which will make it the first phone from an established international manufacturer using this processor. The chip is manufactured on a 16nm process and comes with octa-core architecture with max clock speed of 2.3GHz. The chip looks promising as MediaTek has claimed that offers 40% more performance and reduces power consumption by 60%. Further, the phone supports LPDDR4X RAM memory. There’s 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB storage options. As for software, the phone will come with Android 6 with Flyme 5.2 (a future update will upgrade it to Flyme 6). The new Flyme OS is said to come with over 400 feature additions and One Mind AI Engine.

The phone comes with a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor at the back with f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens, and PDAF. The company is also using the new ArcSoft beauty algorithm for better camera quality. Clearly, this is a level up for the camera in the budget Blue Charm series. Up front, there is a 5MP shooter.

There’s a fingerprint sensor up front as well, which unlocks in 0.2s and supports payment platforms like Alipay and WeChat Pay. The battery onboard is decent, measuring 3200mAh and comes with mCharge which fills up the juice up to 40% in 30 minutes, thanks to 18W charging. With the efficient chip on board, the company claims that the phone will last more than a day easily.

The Meizu X will go on sale for 1699 Yuan~ $246 (3GB + 32GB) and 1999 Yuan ~ $290 (4GB + 64GB). First sale is on December 8.

Following the launch of the Meizu M3S today, we have news about another launch scheduled for next week. This new device is said to be the Meizu MX6.

The info coming from a China-based tipster who goes by the name @KJuma states that the launch of the Meizu MX6 will be on the 20th of June, which is exactly a week from today.

The MX6 is expected to have a pressure sensitive FHD display (no size yet), although there’s no mention if it’ll be AMOLED like last year’s MX5 and will sport Mediatek’s Helio X20 or X25 processor.

The MX6 will purportedly have two RAM/ROM variants, viz.: 3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM with pricing starting at 1799 Yuan ($273). There’s going to be a 20.7MP camera on the rear and an 8MP up front. Battery size is unknown but we should expect it to feature Meizu’s fast charge branded as mCharge present on its predecessor.
In addition to this leak, we also learnt that Meizu might still have one more launch scheduled for June 30, and the device is said to be the Meizu Pro 6 Plus. Let’s wait and watch if there are two more launches from the company this month.
Shouldn’t Meizu have just picked one launch date for all their devices coming out this month?

According to the AnTuTu listing, the NIUX model will come with Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset clocked at 2.1GHz. This isn’t surprising given that Pan Jiutang, a known analyst from IHS had earlier hinted that the new Meizu flagship will use this Samsung chip. To support this chip, the phone will come with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T760 GPU. There will be 32Gb of internal storage with no mention of a memory card slot. At the back, there will be a 21MP camera while up front, the phone will feature a 5MP shooter. As for software, the phone is said to run on Android 5.1. The screen size is known but it comes with FHD 1080p resolution.

Interestingly, this NIUX model is said to be the lower end version. So, there’s a higher end version as well, but we don’t know the specifications of that device. Possible upgrades include 4GB of RAM, larger storage (64GB?) and a higher resolution display, possibly 2K.

The leaked NIUX Meizu model managed to score 69,000 points on AnTuTu with 3D graphics score of 21158. That’s comparable to the existing Galaxy S6 flagship. Also, given that this is the lower end version, we can expect even better scores on the higher-end model.

So what do you think about this particular NIUX Meizu model? Would you be willing to spend about 3000 Yuan for a device with such specs?

In addition, a Google Nexus 4, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 belong to a quad-core products, with 28nm processor. In theory, the smaller the process, the heat is more easy to control, however, affected by the overall design and optimize the impact of different situation and different results.

Earlier yesterday, we had reported about the Meizu MX2 configuration parameters, followed by those news, there is another news spread from Meizu forum, which also attracted the attention of J. Wong.

J. Wong said about the Meizu MX2 speciffication who claimed that the smartphone will equipped with 4.4 inches screen size, but he soon delete the comment. Fortunately, the other user has been make a screenshot to leave the evidence. Have to say, the machine is equipped with 4.4-inch, it is estimated that component its provided by Sharp.

Since the J.wong has raised no objection to other parameters, MX2 is powered by 1.6GHz Samsung Exynos 4412 quad-core processor (same as Galaxy Note 2), the same built-in 2GB of RAM, and battery capacity will be increased from 1700mAh upgraded to 1930mAh.

In addition, the camera will continue to be 8 megapixel, but the aperture from f/2.2 becomes f/2.0 running Android 4.1-based custom operating systems.
