Earlier today, we came across yet another leak, this time with the code name NIUX. The device was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark with high-end specs.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105230781.jpeg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57834" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105230781.jpeg?x10805" alt="wpid-wp-1441105230781.jpeg" width="600" height="950" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105230781.jpeg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105230781-189x300.jpeg 189w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105230781-265x420.jpeg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>According to the AnTuTu listing, the NIUX model will come with Samsung&#8217;s Exynos 7420 chipset clocked at 2.1GHz. This isn&#8217;t surprising given that Pan Jiutang, a known analyst from IHS had earlier hinted that the new Meizu flagship will use this Samsung chip. To support this chip, the phone will come with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T760 GPU. There will be 32Gb of internal storage with no mention of a memory card slot. At the back, there will be a 21MP camera while up front, the phone will feature a 5MP shooter. As for software, the phone is said to run on Android 5.1. The screen size is known but it comes with FHD 1080p resolution.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105527150.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-57837" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105527150.png?x10805" alt="wpid-wp-1441105527150.png" width="599" height="417" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105527150.png 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/wpid-wp-1441105527150-300x209.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></a></p>
<p>Interestingly, this NIUX model is said to be the lower end version. So, there&#8217;s a higher end version as well, but we don&#8217;t know the specifications of that device. Possible upgrades include 4GB of RAM, larger storage (64GB?) and a higher resolution display, possibly 2K.</p>
<p>The leaked NIUX Meizu model managed to score 69,000 points on AnTuTu with 3D graphics score of 21158. That&#8217;s comparable to the existing Galaxy S6 flagship. Also, given that this is the lower end version, we can expect even better scores on the higher-end model.</p>
<p>So what do you think about this particular NIUX Meizu model? Would you be willing to spend about 3000 Yuan for a device with such specs?</p>

However, that doesn&#8217;t mean we won&#8217;t see a high-end flagship in the second half. Meizu VP Li Nan had earlier said that the company was developing a super high-end device planned to launch in a few months. Looks like, we have got some more details about this device, as most of the specs of the phone have just been revealed.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/meizu-flagship-new.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-56700" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/meizu-flagship-new.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu flagship new" width="248" height="300" /></a></p>
<p>According to the leak from Weibo, Meizu&#8217;s unnamed high-end flagship will feature Samsung&#8217;s Exynos 7422 chipset clocked at 2.1GHz, the same one that powers the Galaxy Note 5. It looks like the company is targeting large screen lovers with this device as it will feature a 6-inch display with an impressive 2K resolution screen. There will be 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.0 storage.</p>
<p>For camera, there will be a 20.7MP sensor at the back, with OIS and sapphire lens. One of the highlights of the device will be its large 4100mAh battery inside a 7.2mm slim metal body. We will most likely see the same home button integrated fingerprint sensor that we saw on <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/30/meizu-mx5-finally-official-mt6795-fast-charge-1799-yuan-price-tag/">Meizu MX5</a> on this high-end handset. Also, there will be a single SIM card slot only. As for software, the new Meizu flagship is said to run on Android 5.1 with Flyme 5.0 on top. Like most Meizu top-end devices till date, the phone is said to support Hi-Fi audio.</p>
<p>Li Nan did not reveal an exact date of launch this year, but we expect the phone to be released at least by November. Remember that this leak comes via Weibo and we are not entirely sure about the specs. So, we advise you to take this news with a pinch of salt.</p>

In that article, we had also said that the company was going to focus on a true high-end flagship. Now, it looks like we have some initial information about that device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/meizu-high-end-flagship.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55642" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/meizu-high-end-flagship.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu high-end flagship" width="515" height="241" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/meizu-high-end-flagship.jpg 515w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/meizu-high-end-flagship-300x140.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px" /></a></p>
<p>Early morning today, a new leak said that <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Meziu was working on a high-end flagship with a glass + metal body</span></strong></em>. It also said that the company will launch this new phone in the second half of this year. Remember, VP Li Nan had said that he couldn&#8217;t say for sure when they would release this new device? Well, now we have some idea. Also, at that time he added that although the device was under development already, usually a product requires around 8 month of development time till it can be finally released in the market. We hope that Meizu gets enough development time to unveil the new flagship this year itself, as all other major launches are already over.</p>
<p>Another interesting piece of information from this new leak is the possible pricing. It is said that the new<em> <strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Meizu flagship could retail for more than 3000 Yuan</span></strong></em>, which will be much more than the company&#8217;s traditional pricing. So, even if the phone is high-end, we will have to wait and see if customers are willing to shell out such an amount for a Meizu device.</p>
<p>What do you think? Will you spend more than 3000 Yuan ($483) for a capable high-end Meizu device?</p>

The company managed to sell around 8.9 million units (you can check out <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/03/first-half-2015-sales-performance-huawei-vs-xiaomi-vs-meizu/">this article for the first half sales comparison between Xiaomi, Huawei &amp; Meizu</a>) in the first half alone, which was a tremendous improvement as compared to last year. One of the main reasons for this sales growth was the new Blue Charm series which offered pretty good features for an affordable price tag.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/meizu-m2-colors-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55014" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/meizu-m2-colors-01.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu-m2-colors-01" width="583" height="356" /></a></p>
<p>The company has also increased the frequency of launches this year, considering that we have already seen the second generation models in the Blue Charm Meizu M1 series in just 6 months. Both <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/18/meizu-m2-note-review-one-of-the-best-budget-smartphones-today/">Meizu M2 Note </a>and<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/29/the-super-cheap-meizu-m2-unveiled-with-mt6735-2gb-ram-2500mah-battery/"> Meizu M2</a> have been announced, featuring even better specs and offering more value for money as compared to its previous versions.</p>
<p>However, Meizu VP Li Nan says that the company no longer wants to be a small manufacture. It aims to go big in the coming years and is even expected to break even this year after previous losses. The company has increased its manufacturing capacity, as well as made new partnerships in this regard.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-55066" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01-1024x678.jpg?x10805" alt="mx5 pro scrapped 01" width="800" height="530" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01-300x199.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01-634x420.jpg 634w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01-640x424.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/mx5-pro-scrapped-01-681x451.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>However, it looks like Meizu<strong> isn&#8217;t planning to release MX5 Pro this year</strong>. Li Nan adds that although<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> Meizu considered renewing its 2499 Yuan Pro series this year with a new model (MX5 Pro), the company later decided to abandon</strong></span> it. Instead, Meizu is working on a<strong> brand new high-end lineup</strong> which is already under development. However, he adds that since a new product requires at least 8 months of development and multiple revisions according to the changing market demands, he can&#8217;t say when exactly this new product will be launched.</p>
<p>While I am sure fans will be disappointed to see MX5 Pro  series discontinued, we would have to wait and see what Li Nan meant by a high-end lineup. Could it directly rival <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/05/06/xiaomi-mi-note-pro-officially-released-for-2999-yuan/">Xiaomi Mi Note Pro</a> or the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/07/29/first-hands-on-with-the-zte-axon-fingerprint-sensor-version/">ZTE Axon</a>? We will have to wait and watch. Till then, stay tuned for more details.</p>

We have already spotted the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/03/this-could-be-the-meizu-mx5-flagship-that-hit-tenaa-featuring-an-octa-core-2-3ghz-chipset/">Meizu MX5 on TENAA </a>and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/04/meizu-mx5-leaked-extensively-spotted-in-a-video-tenaa-pictures-revealed/">even in a video</a>, and it looks like the MX5 Pro version will also debut soon.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-new-renders-changes-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49851" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-new-renders-changes-01.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu-mx5-new-renders-changes-01" width="580" height="413" /></a></p>
<p>New rumors indicate that the MX5 Pro will come with a larger 6-inch display with 2K resolution. As for the processor, expect the same Samsung 7420 chipset that was inside the Samsung Galaxy S6 inside this beast. Along with this powerful chipset, the phone will come with 4GB RAM and an oval shaped home button which will support fingerprint recognition.</p>
<p>As for the camera, expect the same 20MP Sony sensor to end up in the new model. The battery is reportedly larger with 4000mAh capacity, which should easily provide more than a day&#8217;s usage. Finally, the phone is rumored to debut in July, which is only a few weeks away.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49870" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro.jpg?x10805" alt="Meizu-MX5-Pro" width="660" height="495" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro.jpg 660w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-238x178.jpg 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Meizu-MX5-Pro-640x480.jpg 640w" sizes="(max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px" /></a></p>
<p>Meanwhile, you can check out a couple of pictures leaked of the new handset. These alleged pictures of the MX5 Pro reveal a double glass design with a metal frame around it. The phone does look large enough to accommodate a large 6-inch display. As for the front, it looks like the leaked pictures that we saw a couple of days back, could be of the MX5 Pro instead of MX5. Also, there are hardly any bezels on the sides.</p>
