This was an extremely competitive price tag considering other rivals in the market offer much less for a more. However, this pricing is close enough to the flagship MX5&#8217;s price tag, which makes us wonder whether Meizu Metal will eat up the sales of its elder brother, the Meizu MX5.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-62060" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-1024x512.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu metal vs mx5" width="800" height="400" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-600x300.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-640x320.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5-681x341.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/meizu-metal-vs-mx5.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu Metal and MX5 are quite similar to each other, yet they have like $110 price difference between them. So, today we take a look at the differences to see whether customers will be ready to pay up this difference to go for the MX5.</p>
<p>First of all, looks wise, there&#8217;s not much difference. Both feature a metal CNC body with a relatively similar design. MX5 features a magnesium alloy body while the Metal comes with a magnesium-aluminum body made with rare metals like titanium. The company is calling  this new material as &#8216;Crystal Metal&#8217;. But end of the day, different people like different looks, so we leave it up to you to decide which ones better.</p>
<p>As for the specs, both come with the Helio X10 MT6795 octa-core chip. However, MX5 features the MT6795T model which is clocked as 2.2GHz as compared to the MT6795M on the Metal. Also, 3GB RAM on the MX5 should offer better multi-tasking than the 2GB RAM found on the Metal. So, performance wise, there will be a noticeable difference between the two models.</p>
<p>Even in the display department, the Meizu MX5 triumphs since it comes with a superior AMOLED 5.5-inch FHD display as compared to the plain 5.5-inch FHD LCD 2.5D glass panel on the Metal. In the camera department, the MX5 comes with a much better 20.7MP shooter as compared to the 13MP sensor on the Metal. However, the MX5 has one major drawback, you don&#8217;t get a MicroSD card slot on the device. On the other hand, the Metal can boast of this slot which definitely gives the phone an advantage in the storage area.</p>
<p>The battery is almost the same on both the devices (3150mAh vs 3140mAh) but the former (MX5) features fast charge which is definitely a plus point. And if you like using your phone as a remote, there&#8217;s an IR port on the MX5 as well.</p>
<p>As you can see, despite the close pricing, the MX5 does offer a lot more than the Meizu Metal. You get a better display, superior camera, fast charge and larger RAM module. The lack of the SD card slot is the only drawback as compared to the Metal, but to solve that you can always go for the 32GB variant.</p>
<p>So, judging from this comparison, we don&#8217;t think the Metal will eat up the sales of the MX5 to a great extent. Of course, those who are happy with slightly lower specs will settle for the Metal, but others, who want a superior smartphone experience, will still stick with the MX5 flagship.</p>
<p>Anyways, let me know what you think about this comparison. Do you think the $110 price difference between the two models is justified with the superior specs?</p>

We have already<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/04/meizu-mx5-leaked-extensively-spotted-in-a-video-tenaa-pictures-revealed/"> seen the device in pictures as well as a video</a>, and today, new posters reveal some more information about the device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-51499" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-01.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5 01" width="440" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-01.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-01-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-01-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-01-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>According to the poster, the flagship will feature mCharge technology which will be a type of fast charging. This will allow the phone to charge up to 25% in just 10 minutes and up to 60% in 40 minutes. We had already seen rumors about fast charging on MX5 earlier, so this doesn&#8217;t come as a surprise.</p>
<p>The pictures are similar to the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/16/meizu-might-release-the-mx5-flagship-the-same-day-as-huaweis-honor-7/">ones that we saw earlier</a>. So, it features an all metal design, with super thin bezels and an oval shaped home button just below the display. You can expect some special functions with that physical button.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-51498" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-02.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5 02" width="440" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-02.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-02-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-02-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-02-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>The leak also reveals that the new Flyme OS, probably Flyme 5.0 will bring some new visual changes including new colors, glass effects and several other functionality. Flyme hasn&#8217;t been the best OS in the market, and hopefully, we will see a much better and improved version running on the new MX5 flagship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-03.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-51497" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-03.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5 03" width="440" height="585" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-03.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-03-226x300.jpg 226w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-03-316x420.jpg 316w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the specs, the Meizu MX5 is expected to come with a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display with 3GB RAM and a 2.1GHz MT6795T octa-core 64-bit processor. At the back, there will be a 20MP camera and 5MP front facing shooter. There will be a fingerprint sensor on board as well as a pretty decent 3150mAh battery.</p>
<p>We expect Meizu to release the device on June 30 for around 1799 Yuan ($280), which is less than a week away. But before that, expect some more leaks to give away a few more features of the device.</p>

However, the company did not reveal what it was going to launch at the event.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-teaser.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-51143" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-teaser.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu-teaser" width="440" height="691" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-teaser.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-teaser-191x300.jpg 191w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-teaser-267x420.jpg 267w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>Earlier today, Meizu released a new teaser on Weibo with the tag line &#8220;Born to Kill&#8221;. Now this doesn&#8217;t directly reveal the identity of the handset, but it shows that the launch may be of a significant device. And we think its most likely going to be the Meizu MX5 flagship. So, earlier rumors about the Meizu M2 launching at the event could be false.</p>
<p>We can also see the number 630 etched on top of the helmet along with the words full metal jacket. Logically, this doesn&#8217;t make much sense, but if we had to find a link, it could be related to the material used on the handset. The 630 could refer to the grade of stainless steel material that may end up as the body of the Meizu MX5. But at this moment, we can&#8217;t be completely sure.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49782" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02.jpg?x10805" alt="mx5 tenaa 02" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>As for the specs,<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/04/meizu-mx5-leaked-extensively-spotted-in-a-video-tenaa-pictures-revealed/"> TENAA reveals that the Meizu MX5 will feature</a> an octa-core 2.3Ghz chipset with 3GB RAM, 20MP rear camera, 3MP front facing camera and a 3150mAh battery. The display will be slightly increased to 5.5-inches with the same full HD 1080p resolution.</p>
<p>So, it looks like the company will release the MX5 flagship at the event. Stay tuned for more details.</p>

Thanks to the numerous leaks, we already know a lot about the upcoming handset, and it looks like pretty powerful device.</p>

<p>However, it looks like June 30 won&#8217;t just be the launch day for Honor 7, as latest rumors suggests Meizu is preparing the launch of a powerful machine on the same day. Given that its almost time to see the next generation model of the Meizu MX4, we feel that this smartphone could be the MX5 flagship.</p>
<figure id="attachment_49715" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-49715" style="width: 540px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-49715 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-01.jpg?x10805" alt="mx5 01" width="540" height="389" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-01.jpg 540w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-01-300x216.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-49715" class="wp-caption-text">Meizu MX5 02</figcaption></figure>
<p>So, it looks like June 30 is going to be a pretty interesting day. <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/03/this-could-be-the-meizu-mx5-flagship-that-hit-tenaa-featuring-an-octa-core-2-3ghz-chipset/">According to the TENAA listing</a>, the MX5 features an octa-core 2.3GHz chipset with 3GB RAM and a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display. <p>As for the Honor 7, the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/08/huawei-honor-7-system-screenshot-leaked-kirin-935-and-4gb-ram-confirmed/"> phone is expected to come with an octa-core chipset </a>with a 5-inch 1080p display, 13MP OIS camera and 3280mAh battery. There will be two different versions, the standard one sporting 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage while the top-end premium version coming with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.</p>

However, at that time, the Chinese certification website had no images of the device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49782" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02.jpg?x10805" alt="mx5 tenaa 02" width="600" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-02-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, 24 hours later, TENAA has uploaded the pictures of the MX5 flagship and the model looks quite close to the renders that we have seen recently. The pictures reveal a all metal design, with a thin body and super slim bezels. You can see that the camera is protruding from the back, which usually is not considered as a good design, but it could be because of the rumored powerful sensor with 4X Optical zoom.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-01.jpg?x10805'><img width="600" height="800" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-01.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-01.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-01-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-01-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-03.jpg?x10805'><img width="600" height="800" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-03.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-03.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-03-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-tenaa-03-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a>

<p>Another important change is the home button. It looks like the company will continue the tradition of a physical oval shaped home button on its upcoming devices, as this model too has the button. However, being a flagship, it could feature a fingerprint sensor.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-new-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49779" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-new-01.jpg?x10805" alt="mx5 new 01" width="610" height="364" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-new-01.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-new-01-300x179.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></a></p>
<p>Just a few minutes after the MX5 flagship pictures were found on the TENAA  website, we also came across a video which showed off the device in full glory. In fact, the device in the video was exactly the same as the one that we see in the pictures above, further confirming that its the MX5 flagship.</p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" src="http://player.youku.com/embed/XMTI1NDc3ODcxMg==" width="510" height="498" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>You can once again see the all metal body and the super thin design in the video. As for the specs, the phone will reportedly come with an octa-core 2.3GHz chipset and 3GB RAM with 16GB of expandable storage. There will be a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display up front. As for the camera, it is said that there will be a 20MP rear camera along with a 3MP front facing shooter. The rear camera could support up to 4X optical zoom. At the back, finally there will be a 3150mAh battery and it will run on the new Android 5.0 OS based on Flyme 4.5. Earlier today, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/06/03/meizu-mx5-gets-the-national-3c-certification-supports-fast-charging/">same models passed National 3C certification</a> which showed that it will support fast charge too.</p>

The models namely M575M and M575U were both listed on TENAA with some specs details. Now, both the devices has received the Nation 3C Certification.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-49751" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01-1024x149.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5 certification 01" width="800" height="116" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01-1024x149.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01-300x44.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01-640x93.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01-681x99.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-01.jpg 1127w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>This certification also reveals that the Meizu MX5 will support high-voltage fast charging technology. One of the documents show that both the models, M575M and M575U will support fast charging. However, if this is true, then we wonder if the chipset inside is really Helio X10. The listing didn&#8217;t specify the name of the chip, but only mentioned that the phone will be powered by an octa-core 2.3GHz chipset. With support for fast charging, it could also be a different Mediatek processor.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-02.jpg?x10805'><img width="696" height="174" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-02.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-02.jpg 945w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-02-300x75.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-02-640x160.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-02-681x170.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03.jpg?x10805'><img width="696" height="103" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03-1024x152.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03-1024x152.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03-300x44.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03-640x95.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03-681x101.jpg 681w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-certification-03.jpg 1128w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a>

<p>Of course, we still haven&#8217;t confirmed that these two models are Meizu MX5, but given their specs and the timing of certification, it should logically be the next Meizu flagship device.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-03.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-49713" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-03.jpg?x10805" alt="mx5 03" width="563" height="480" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-03.jpg 563w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-03-300x256.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/mx5-03-493x420.jpg 493w" sizes="(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px" /></a></p>

There will be a 20MP camera at the back along with a 3MP front facing shooter.</p>
<p>Meizu is expected to release the device before the end of this month, so stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.</p>

The phone sits between the entry level Meizu M1 Mini and the slightly better Meizu M1 Note.</p>
<p>But these are new models in a series that was just launched in December last year. The actual flagship lineup is the company&#8217;s MX series and its almost time to see the new model.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-02.jpg?x10805'><img width="529" height="337" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-02.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-02.jpg 529w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-02-300x191.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 529px) 100vw, 529px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-01.jpg?x10805'><img width="525" height="319" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-01.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-01.jpg 525w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-01-300x182.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px" /></a>

<p>It looks like Meizu could be preparing for the launch of the MX5 soon as two new models, with identical specifications but different network connectivity have just been spotted on TENAA. The models numbers of these two Meizu devices are M575M and M575U and they feature pretty high-end specs, which makes us believe that this could be the Meizu MX5 flagship. The first one is the China Mobile version while the other is the China Unicom version.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-03.jpg?x10805'><img width="550" height="284" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-03.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-03.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-03-300x155.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-04.jpg?x10805'><img width="550" height="807" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-04.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-large size-large" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-04.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-04-204x300.jpg 204w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/meizu-mx5-tenaa-04-286x420.jpg 286w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a>

<p>According to the listing, the M575M and M575U models feature a <strong>5.5-inch display</strong> with a body measuring <strong>146&#215;74.6&#215;7.9mm and weighing just 147  grams. </strong>In comparison, the Meizu MX4 flagship came with a 5.36-inch display and a thicker 8.9mm body. The weight was the same as this model.</p>
<p>The display will be <strong>AMOLED panel with full HD 1080p resolution</strong>. As for the processor, there&#8217;s an <strong>octa-core 2.3Ghz chipset</strong> under the hood, most probably Mediatek&#8217;s Helio X10. There will be <strong>3GB RAM on board with 16GB of non-expandable storage</strong>. There will be a <strong>20MP rear</strong> facing camera along with just 3MP front facing one.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, TENAA did not reveal the images of the upcoming handset. So, at present, the leaked renders are the only images that we have of the MX5.</p>
<p>You can check out the leaked renders from down below.</p>

Now, it looks like we have some initial information about the upcoming Meizu MX5 flagship smartphone.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-47084" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-1024x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5" width="800" height="800" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-420x420.jpg 420w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-640x640.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-681x681.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Earlier last month, a new image was revealed by the Chairman and CEO of Meizu, Huang Zhang. The picture showed us a new smartphone with a physical home button. While Mr. Zhang didn&#8217;t reveal the name of the device, it was said that the uploaded image was of the new Meizu MX5 flagship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-47086" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5 leak" width="440" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, two similar images have been leaked online. These images show off a similar design as the phone shown in March, which makes us believe that this could be the MX5.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-02.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-47087" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-02.jpg?x10805" alt="meizu mx5 leak 02" width="440" height="440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-02.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-02-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-02-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-mx5-leak-02-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>The company is due to announce the MX5 model in the coming months and given that the MX4 Pro came with a physical home button, its likely that the new MX5 too could feature such a similar design. But there are a few subtle changes in the button, like now its more oval rather than rectangular, which to be honest looks better than the one on the MX4 Pro. Also, almost every time we see a manufacturer fit a physical home button on its flagship, its for a fingerprint sensor and hence, this particular model too could come with the sensor.</p>
<p>It looks like the rest of the design will be similar to the Meizu MX4, with rounded corners and thinbezels. Unfortunately, at this moment, we have very little idea about the specifications of the device. But we hope to see more leaks in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!</p>
