It’s been just a few hours since the Meizu Pop Pro debuted in China. The new Active noise cancellation headphones offer a lot of improved functions in comparison with the PPOP 2 and POP 2s which was launched in 2020. The TWS earbuds are currently limited in China, but the international fans can get it via Giztop for $99. It would be a nice addition for the Meizu fans who want to get it before anyone else.

However, the Meizu Pop Pro TWS carries a three-microphone intelligent call noise reduction algorithm to suppress the external noise. The ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) algorithm improves the music listening experience and even aids in making noise-free calls. The advanced ANC algorithm is capable to reduce noise up to 35 decibels.

There’s a 10mm diaphragm to process mid-to-high frequency sounds with a blend of bass and treble. The earbuds offer a 20 hours battery life with a charging life – 6.5 hours of normal usage, 4 hours with noise reduction enabled. It is sweat and rainproof and can carry a one-click connection. Meizu first launched its POP true wireless earphones in 2018 and last year, the company launched two models as successors — POP 2 and POP2s. Now, the company has launched yet another model in this lineup.

As expected, the company has today launched the Meizu POP Pro — it’s first true wireless earphones with active noise cancellation. It is priced at 499 yuan, which is approximately $77, and will be up for sale from tomorrow, i.e. 12th January at 10:00 AM local time.

Design-wise, the newly launched POP Pro resembles the Apple AirPods Pro for the earbuds as well as the charging case. The product is equipped with a three-microphone intelligent call noise reduction algorithm that gets rid of the external environmental noise when the user is making a phone call.

The company claims that thanks to its third-generation noise reduction algorithm, it effectively offers a deep noise reduction of up to 35 decibels. The Meizu POP Pro uses a custom 10mm composite diaphragm moving coil unit for more mid-to-high frequency details as well as strong and powerful bass.

As for the Active Noise Cancellation, the device is powered by Meizu‘s new “triple hybrid active noise reduction technology” which uses feedforward and feedback microphones in the in-ear structure which detects noise to eliminate it.

It comes with features like a one-click connection, wear detection, and touch-based controls. Coming to the battery life, the company says that it offers 6.5 hours of normal usage and 4 hours of usage with noise reduction enabled. Meizu has also claimed that the charging case increases battery life to 20 hours.

Earlier this week, we had reported on Meizu planning on launching its first truly wireless earbuds with active noise cancelation within this month. Now, the company has officially announced that these new hearables will be unveiled on the 11th of January 2021.

Earlier today (8th January 2021), the Chinese tech giant shared a short announcement on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. In this online post, the company officially announced the date for the launch conference for its first ANC TWS earbuds along with the name of the new wireless earphones as well. The upcoming earphones will be dubbed as the Meizu Pop Pro.

The new launch also arrives as the company is expanding its consumer electronics portfolio, which will soon include other wearables like smartwatches and more. These new smartwatches are also expected to arrive sometime in the first quarter of 2021. In our previous report, we had covered a Meizu patent for its upcoming earbuds, which gives us an idea of what they might look like. Unfortunately, the company has yet to reveal any specifics regarding the Pop Pro ANC TWS earbuds.

From what we could gather from the patent, it arrives with a charging case, which supports a USB Type C charging port. Whether or not it supports fast charging is still unknown, but we get a fair idea of the design, with the front housing a battery status LED indicator. At the moment, all we to go is the launch date and the short video teaser that the company shared, which hinted at its noise canceling feature. So stay tuned for updates and the launch event for the new earbuds.
