Some praised the new design and the cheap pricing of the device while some criticized the use of Helio X25 chipset inside. Given that LeEco released the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/20/le-2-le-2-pro-le-max-2-announced-three-ditch-3-5mm-audio-jack/"> Le 2 Pro variant with Helio X25 for just 1499 yuan ($232)</a>, Pro 6 seems like a costly option now. The Meizu flagship starts at 2499 Yuan ($384), almost $150 higher than the Le 2 Pro running on the same chip.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-82045" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/meizu-pro-6-exynos-8890-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 exynos 8890 leak" width="360" height="640" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/meizu-pro-6-exynos-8890-leak.jpg 360w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/meizu-pro-6-exynos-8890-leak-169x300.jpg 169w" sizes="(max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px" /></p>
<p>But it looks like the Pro 6 could have a real &#8220;Pro&#8221; variant, which could take on the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/18/xiaomi-mi-5-pro-edition-coming-soon/">top flagships in the market right </a>now. According to a leaked screenshot circulating on the internet, the Meizu Pro 6 flagship was seen running on the Exynos 8890 chipset. Given that Meizu has had a good relationship with Samsung in the past, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/23/meizu-pro-5-flagship-announced-with-the-powerful-exynos-7420-21mp-camera/">providing chipsets for a number of Meizu flagships until this year</a>, it is possible that the company decided to use the Samsung&#8217;s best chipset yet, the Exynos 8890 inside a powerful variant of the Pro 6. Other features of this variant leaked by the image include 4GB of RAM, 160 grams weight and Android 6.0.</p>
<p>If Meizu is really working on an Exynos 8890 Pro 6 variant, we could see another major upgrade &#8212; UFS 2.0 standard. The current version of the Pro 6 had to use eMMC 5.1 storage standard because Mediatek Helio X20 / X25 does not support UFS 2.0. But with a new chip on board, the company could easily upgrade the memory to the new and faster standard.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78999" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 official 02" width="949" height="959" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979.jpg 949w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979-297x300.jpg 297w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979-768x776.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979-600x606.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 949px) 100vw, 949px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, this information is derived from a leaked photo online, of which the authenticity cannot be ascertained at the moment. However, we would really like to see an Exynos powered Pro 6 this year, as it would give the new flagship a much-needed power boost.</p>
<p>What do you think? Should Meizu release a Pro 6 variant with Exynos 8890?</p>

We had already learned a lot about the device from company executives as well as teasers, but, now, everything including specs, features, camera, and pricing are out in the open. There&#8217;s a lot of new information about the Pro 6, which is why I have divided the info into different segments down below. It will be easier to browse through all the information this way.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78999" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 official 02" width="949" height="959" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979.jpg 949w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979-297x300.jpg 297w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979-768x776.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-02-e1460537423979-600x606.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 949px) 100vw, 949px" /></p>
<p>So, let&#8217;s see what Meizu Pro 6 brings to the table.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #0000ff;">Meizu Pro 6 DESIGN:</span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78985" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-silver.png?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 silver" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-silver.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-silver-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-silver-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>First of all, Meizu is using a brand new design for the Pro 6 smartphone. The company had already showcased the new antenna design on the device, and today, it has confirmed it officially. The phone comes with a 2.5D glass front with a CNC cut body for its premium looks. The special antenna design helps in better coverage, which Meizu claims is much better than the iPhone 6S. The buttons are placed well inside its grooves and the overall design looks simple yet premium.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78984" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-7.25mm-thickness.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 7.25mm thickness" width="2356" height="1338" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-7.25mm-thickness.jpg 2356w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-7.25mm-thickness-300x170.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-7.25mm-thickness-768x436.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-7.25mm-thickness-1024x582.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-7.25mm-thickness-600x341.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 2356px) 100vw, 2356px" /></p>
<p>Meizu Pro 6 is also the company&#8217;s thinnest device till date, featuring a 7.25mm body. The company has also managed to reduce the board area inside by up to 30%, reducing the overall size of the phone. Although it&#8217;s a matter of individual preference, but personally, I think Meizu has done a very good job with the design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-79000" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-01-e1460537444191.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 official 01" width="954" height="944" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-01-e1460537444191.jpg 954w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-01-e1460537444191-300x297.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-01-e1460537444191-768x760.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-official-01-e1460537444191-600x594.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 954px) 100vw, 954px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #0000ff;">SCREEN:</span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78988" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01.png?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 01" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>The Meizu Pro 6 comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED FHD 1920 x 1080p display with 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. The company boasts that the borders are ultra-narrow measuring just 0.715mm, which is one of the thinnest borders we have seen. Other specs of the display include 450 Nit brightness, 100 and 423PPI pixel density. During the conference, Meizu specifically pointed out that the minimum display brightness is just 3 Nits to ensure that you don&#8217;t strain your eyes at night.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78989" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-3-nits-night-brightness.png?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 3 nits night brightness" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-3-nits-night-brightness.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-3-nits-night-brightness-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-3-nits-night-brightness-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #0000ff;">Meizu Pro 6 Specs:</span></h3>
<p>No surprises here. The Meizu Pro 6 comes with the new Helio X25 deca-core chipset clocked at 2.5GHz. The chip features 2 x Cortex A72 cores and 8 x Cortex A53 cores. The company said that it decided to go with Helio X25 because it believes in the balance of performance and energy efficiency. Inside, there will be Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. As for memory, the phone comes with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage as standard. The company has reportedly made over 70 hardware and software optimizations on the device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78991" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/helio-x25-chipset.png?x44794" alt="helio x25 chipset" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/helio-x25-chipset.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/helio-x25-chipset-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/helio-x25-chipset-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>The Pro 6 also features the new USB 3.1 standard Type-C port which supports transfer speeds up to 5Gbps. The phone supports full netcom meaning it will work on all three carriers in China. Other connectivity features include dual SIM dual standby, VoLTE and Cat 6. support for transfer up to 300Mbps.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78990" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/usb-type-c.png?x44794" alt="usb type-c" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/usb-type-c.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/usb-type-c-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/usb-type-c-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>Meizu also reveals that the Pro 6 comes with the new mCharge 3.0 standard which can charge at 24W. This means you can charge the 2560mAh battery in the device to 100% in just 60 minutes. A simple 10-minute charge would give you 26% charge. mCharge 3.0 also comes with triple protection to ensure the safety of your phone.</p>
<p>You also get a mTouch 2.1 360 degrees fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button up front.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #0000ff;">NEW FEATURES:</span></h3>
<p>So, apart from the unique antenna design on the Pro 6, Meizu also comes with a couple of interesting new features.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>First is the Hi-Fi Lite, which is a less power consuming version of the traditional Hi-Fi standard. The Hi-Fi Lite reportedly consumes 55% less power than the traditional standard. The phone features a cirrus logic chip and DAC amplifier for the best sound output. Further, there&#8217;s the company&#8217;s mSound tech with NXP chip.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78996" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-3d-press.gif?x44794" alt="meizu 3d press" width="500" height="500" /></p>
<p>Another new feature on the Meizu Pro 6 is 3D Press. This is Meizu&#8217;s name for pressure sensitive display. The company has added a new layer of capacitive pressure sensing to enable user gestures. The company also adds that Flyme OS will come with 20 apps that support 3D Press. This number could increase soon after the release.</p>
<p>Like expected, the Pro 6 also features the new 10-flash tech at the back, but more about that in the camera department.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #0000ff;">Meizu Pro 6 CAMERA:</span></h3>
<p>The Meizu Pro 6 comes with a capable camera sensor at the back, which is the Sony IMX230 with 21MP resolution and f/2.2 aperture. The sensor is supported by PDAF with focus times of just 0.07 seconds. Meizu also revealed that it has reduced the thickness of the camera module by 14% to blend well with the thin design of the Pro 6.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78987" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gray.png?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 gray" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gray.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gray-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gray-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>Now, coming to the most interesting part, the Pro 6 features a 10-LED flash setup. This is a combination of alternating cold and warm LED lights arranged in a ring design. This reportedly increases the brightness of the flash dramatically, helping you take best shots even at night. Further, the new setup with a new ISP translates into a range which is 4x better than Laser Autofocus.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78998" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-camera-focus.png?x44794" alt="pro 6 camera focus" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-camera-focus.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-camera-focus-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/pro-6-camera-focus-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>On the front, the phone comes with a 5MP f/2.0 shooter.</p>
<p>Here are some camera samples taken from the Meizu Pro 6.</p>

<h3><span style="color: #0000ff;">Meizu Pro 6 PRICING:</span></h3>
<p>The Meizu Pro 6 will be much cheaper than what we initially thought. The phone <strong>starts at 2499 Yuan for the 32GB variant ($386)</strong> and<strong> goes up to 2799 Yuan for the 64GB variant ($432)</strong>. The company is already taking pre-order registrations for the phone. It will start selling from April 23.</p>
<p>So, what do you think about the Pro 6?</p>

Given that top-end smartphones tend to have the best hardware underneath, it becomes necessary for the phone to feature a battery which is large and charges as fast as possible. Meizu will soon be unveiling its Pro 6 flagship smartphone on April 13 and the company confirmed today that the phone will come with fast charging technology. However, there&#8217;s more, the company hints that this tech makes sure that the phone&#8217;s battery is not damaged during the process. The teaser says, &#8220;They (companies) tell you the fastest charging times, why do they not mention the life of the battery?&#8221;.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78736" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-mcharge-2.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu mcharge 2" width="600" height="805" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-mcharge-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-mcharge-2-224x300.jpg 224w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Meizu Pro 6 could be using its own fast charging technology dubbed as mCharge (this could be mCharge 2.0) which ensures that the battery inside the phone is not damaged. Or it could use Mediatek&#8217;s PE (Pump Express) fast charging and utilize some kind of battery protection technology. Whatever the case maybe, this teaser confirms that the phone will have some kind of tech to ensure the protection of the battery.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-78550" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 black version" width="1024" height="653" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-768x490.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-01-600x383.jpg 600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>There are a lot of fast charging technologies currently available in the market, like Qualcomm&#8217;s Quick Charge, Mediatek&#8217;s Pump Express and even OPPO&#8217;s Super VOOC fast charge. The first two charging technologies use high voltage to speed up the charging process. High voltage often leads to heat generation, which is not good news for your battery life. On the other hand, OPPO&#8217;s VOOC fast charging uses a low-voltage 5V charger to ensure that the heat is kept to a minimum and the life of the battery is not adversely affected. Well, Meizu&#8217;s new Pro 6 could come with a similar charging tech as OPPO, using low voltage.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/04/08/meizu-pro-6-rumored-feature-powerful-ring-flash-tech-make-night-photography-easy/"> Meizu Pro 6 rumored to come with 10-ring flashes for better night photography</a></strong></p>
<p>We are just two days away from the official unveiling of the Pro 6 handset. So, we should get more details about its charging technology at the event.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75983" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 leak 01" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-600x450.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-238x178.jpg 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-640x480.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-01-681x511.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>While Apple fans were pretty happy to see that the upcoming iPhone 7 was going to sport a slightly different look, Meizu VP Li Nan claims that the pictures which were leaked yesterday are actually of the upcoming Meizu Pro 6 flagship. Don&#8217;t trust him? Well, he has actually posted a picture of the real Meizu Pro 6 sporting this design.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75982" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 leak 02" width="1024" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-600x400.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-640x427.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meizu-pro-6-leak-02-681x454.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>He further adds that the factory staff who leaked this image most likely made a mistake. The company has been working on this design for quite some time and wanted to surprise fans at the conference.</p>
<p>Well, when he had said that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/16/will-meizu-6-pro-finally-kill-iphone/">Meizu Pro 6 was going to be an &#8220;iPhone 7 killer&#8221; </a>we thought he was being optimistic. But after this leak, it looks like both the phones could have a very similar design.</p>
<p>As for the specs, Meizu has also confirmed that the Pro 6 flagship will be the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/16/meizu-pro-6-confirmed-worlds-first-phone-helio-x25-chip/"> first phone to feature the newly announced Helio X25 </a>chipset. In fact, the chip will be exclusive to the phone for several months. This leak confirms a metal body on the design with unique antenna lines. Other rumored features of the phone include FHD 1080p resolution 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM and a home button embedded fingerprint sensor.</p>
<p>So, in short, it looks like we are going to see two very similar looking smartphones in the coming months, one running on Android and the other on iOS. While Li Nan claims that the images are of the Pro 6, it&#8217;s possible that the iPhone 7 prototype looks very much similar to the Pro 6. If true, then Li Nan did a pretty good job of revealing Pro 6&#8217;s design quite early!</p>

This will be an upgraded version of the existing Helio X20 chipset, clocked at a higher frequency.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75908" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25.jpg?x44794" alt="helio x25" width="610" height="458" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-600x450.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-559x420.jpg 559w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>The basic design between the Helio X25 and the Helio X20 remain the same, so the new chip will also come with a tri-cluster architecture based on 10 cores. However, the performance cores namely the <strong>Cortex A72 cores will be clocked at a higher frequency, from 2.3GHz to 2.5GHz</strong>. The other two clusters remain the same, meaning the new chip comes with two sets of 4 x Cortex A53 cores.</p>
<p>Even the <strong>GPU will get a bump up in the frequency, from 780MHz to 850MHz.</strong> This will make sure that the chip is ideal for the top-end flagship segment which requires much more power than what the Helio X20 offers. Interestingly, MTK says that the power consumption of the chip will not increase.<img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75907" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs.jpg?x44794" alt="helio x25 specs" width="610" height="458" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-600x450.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-559x420.jpg 559w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x47-specs-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>Now, if you remember, this is not the first time we are hearing about the Helio X25. Earlier, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/06/rumor-meizu-release-smartphone-new-series-helio-x25-chip/">we had reported that Mediatek was preparing a variant of the X20 called as the Helio X25 </a>and today, the company made the details official. Given the performance of the Helio X20, it was not suitable for the high-end segment. But the X25 seems to be the ideal choice.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-75909" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip.jpg?x44794" alt="helio x25 chip" width="440" height="330" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/helio-x25-chip-238x178.jpg 238w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></p>
<p>Now, it is confirmed that Meizu Pro 6 will be the world&#8217;s first flagship to use Helio X25 chip. This is not so surprising given that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/15/meizu-pro-6-will-not-feature-exynos-8890-2k-display-acc-company-vp/">Meizu&#8217;s VP Li Nan had said a couple of days back that Meizu Pro 6 won&#8217;t be using Exynos 8890 or 2K display</a>. Considering that an analyst revealed the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/12/22/vivo-first-chinese-manufacturer-use-snapdragon-652/"> Snapdragon 820 chip is costly</a>, a chip like the Helio X25 could be the company&#8217;s best bet.</p>
<p>Other specs of the Helio X25 include Cat 6. LTE connectivity, 4G+ with download speeds of up to 300Mbps and support for the latest Pump Express 3.0 fast charging which can charge a device up to 75% in just 20 minutes.</p>
<p>As for the release of the Pro 6, we may have to wait for a few more months.</p>
