Last month, Xiaomi confirmed that the HyperOS update would arrive for the Mi 10 series in April. As promised, Xiaomi has now begun rolling out the update to all devices in the series, including the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Mi 10 Ultra.

However, the update doesn’t feature the latest Android 14 but instead runs on Android 13. For the Mi 10, the update bears the firmware version 1.0.3.0.TJACNXM and has an installation package size of 4.1GB. 

The updates for the Mi 11 Pro and Ultra come with firmware versions 1.0.3.0.TJACNXM/1.0.2.0.TJJCNXM and weigh in at 4.2GB. Additionally, the update includes the March security patch.

To get the latest firmware, users can navigate to Device Settings > About > Software Update > Check for Update. Also, before proceeding with the upgrade, make sure that your smartphone has enough storage space and battery life to avoid potential issues or data corruption. The Mi 10 Pro 5G was one of two flagships that Xiaomi announced in the first half of the year. The phone packed better cameras and a faster charging technology than the standard model. Eight months after its release, it appears Xiaomi has discontinued the flagship.

If you check the official Xiaomi China website now, the Mi 10 Pro is no longer listed among the Mi phones for sale. The current lineup of phones includes the Mi 10 Ultra, the Mi 10 5G, the Mi 10 Youth Edition, and the Mi MIX Alpha. The absence of the Mi 10 Pro leads us to believe that Xiaomi has discontinued the phone in China.

Chinese blog, ITHome, also reports that the phone is listed as “Out of Stock” on Xiaomi’s official stores on Tmall and Jingdong. We also checked the Youpin store and found that the phone is no longer available there too. However, the phone is still available for purchase in other countries where it was launched.

The Mi 10 Pro 5G was announced in mid-February. It packed a 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a hole in the top left corner of the screen for a selfie camera. Powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor, the phone was made available in multiple variants with the highest configuration having 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

For its cameras, the Mi 10 Pro 5G had a 108MP primary rear camera with OIS. It also had a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, a second 8MP telephoto camera with OIS and 10x hybrid zoom, and a 20MP ultrawide angle camera. The selfie camera was a 20MP sensor.

Other features of the Mi 10 Pro 5G include an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, NFC, IR blaster, and a 4500mAh battery with support for 50W fast wired charging and 30W fast wireless charging.

When Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 10 Pro in February for its home market, it’s DxOMark Camera review went live on the same day itself. Later, in March,  Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi promised a camera update, the version which the DxOMark team actually reviewed. Keeping up with the words, the company is now rolling out MIUI 11.0.24.0 update to Mi 10 Pro, which is said to improve the camera performance of the device.

The new MIUI 11.0.24.0 stable update for Mi 10 Pro weighs only 406MB. It brings a couple of other changes apart from the so-called DxOMark version camera.

The latest update for Mi 10 Pro, which is being rolled out to Chinese version of the device bumps up the security patch level to April 2020. Further, it also adds support for stereo ringtones as well as mirror option for short video mode in the camera app.

The update also fixes occasional hiccups faced by users in AI and HDR modes in the camera app. Also, it brings WiFi 6 icon, which will be displayed on the status bar when the phone is connected to a supported router.

Anyway, we are not sure how well the performance of the cameras will improve with this update. Last year, OnePlus pulled a similar stunt for its then flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 7 Pro. And it did enhance the efficiency of the cameras on that phone. Hopefully, Mi 10 Pro gets a similar boost.

It has been only two months since Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 series in China. However, the company has still managed to sell over a million units even during a global pandemic. The information comes directly from Lu Weibing, the Vice President of Xiaomi who is also the General Manager of Redmi brand.

A blogger praised the price to performance ratio offered by the Xiaomi Mi 10 series when compared to phones from competitors on Weibo. At the end of the post, the person also tagged Mr Lu and asked whether the series has sold 1 million units yet.

Surprisingly, quoting the blogger’s post, Lu Weibing answered that the company has already sold over a million units of Mi 10 series long ago. This sales figure is really impressive as the worldwide smartphone shipments dropped by 38% in February, the month in which these devices were launched. Additionally, the Mi 10 series is the costliest primary flagship phone from the company yet.

The overall smartphone shipments dipped by 13.3% in the first quarter of 2020 due to lockdowns issued by governments across the world to curb the outbreak of coronavirus. But a report from last week mentioned Xiaomi along with Apple has been slowly recovering from the COVID-19 crisis.

Xiaomi’s CFO Shou Zi Chew also claimed the Chinese market has recovered by 80-90%, however, he did admit poor sales for his company’s products. But unfortunately, he did not reveal the exact number. Thankfully, we now have some numbers, at least for the Mi 10 series.

Xiaomi launched the Mi 10 Pro in February of 2020 in China and the handset later made its way to Europe last week. Now, the company is rolling out a new system update bearing the build number MIUI 11.0.16.0 This new stable MIUI release brings a lot of camera-related features to the device including AI 8K video recording, March 2020 security patch and a number of fixes.

The new MIUI 11.0.16.0 stable build released for the Mi 10 Pro is only limited to the Chinese variant of the device. The update weighs only 398MB in size but sill we will recommend users to download it via WiFi connection.

Also, if you cannot wait for the OTA to hit your device, then download the recovery ROM from the link provided at the end of this post and install the update manually.

The latest update for the device fixes automatic brightness, fixes heating of phone while playing certain video files, bumps up the security patch level to March 2020, adds one-click app lock functionality, brings new AI 8K video recording, adds variable speed option for short video recording and much more.

Xiaomi was supposed to unveil the Mi 10 series on February 23 at a pre-MWC event. Unfortunately, less than two weeks to the event, it had to be postponed as the GSMA had decided to cancel MWC 2020 due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Xiaomi has now announced a new release date.

The Mi 10 series will be unveiled on March 27 and it will be an online event. The launch will begin at 14:00 hrs (GMT+1) and will be live-streamed on the official Xiaomi accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

The Mi 10 series includes the standard Mi 10 5G and the Mi 10 Pro 5G. The two phones are powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor. They also have the same 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ punch-hole display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The selfie camera on both devices is a 20MP sensor.

Coming to their differences, the Mi 10 5G has a 108MP primary rear camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The Pro version also has a 108MP primary camera along with a 20MP ultrawide camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP portrait camera.

The Mi 10 Pro packs a 4500mAh battery with support for 50W wired fast charging and 30W wireless charging. The non-pro model has a larger battery with a capacity of 4780mAh but comes with a slower 30W wired fast charging. It too supports 30W wireless fast charging.
