Only recently, Xiaomi updated the stable MIUI 12 based on Android 11 for flagships like Mi 10, Redmi K30 Pro Zoom in China. The company, despite delays, is updating the devices with the latest Android as promised. Hence, the update for Mi 10 Youth Edition is a no-brainer.

Having said that, the update with the firmware V12.1.3.0.RJVCNXM is rolling out to the users in China. Weighing 3.6GB the update brings stable MIUI 12 based on Android 11 to the device. Previously, Xiaomi announced the latest MIUI 12 beta build soon after Google’s official Android 11 announcement.

EDITOR’S PICK: Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Doraemon Limited Edition launches for 2,799 yuan ($407)

Initially, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi’s K30 Pro were the lucky ones to taste the new features of Android 11. Later, Xiaomi started bundling the beta update for Mi 10 Youth Edition making it one of the early ones to get it.

That said, with the new stable update, users can enjoy Android 11 features like revamped notifications, chat bubbles(conversations), and more. That said, the device already got the latest MIUI 12 features with the MIUI 12 update back in June.

And considering this new update is rolling as an OTA update, it could take a few days before reaching everyone. The Mi 10 Youth Edition, which features a 6.57-inch Pentile AMOLED display, Snapdragon 765G SoC, a quad-camera system with a 50x Periscope Telephoto lens, recently got price cuts for 8/128GB and 8/256GB variants in China.

The phone, which will launch outside China as the Mi 10 Lite Zoom, is scheduled to go on sale on April 30 for the first time.

Ahead of the first sale, Xiaomi has created a virtual unboxing experience that lets you check out the phone. The experience is actually pretty neat and you get to see the phone in all the colorways it comes. The virtual unboxing also allows you to view the components that make up the phone such as the battery, the cameras, the cooling pipe, and the processor.

Another thing you get to experience or rather try out is the phone’s 50x zoom feature.

The Mi 10 Youth Edition has a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. It is powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also has quad rear cameras that include a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. There is also a 16MP selfie camera.

The phone packs a 4160mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. It also has an audio jack and infrared sensor at the top while a dual SIM tray and USB Type-C port sit at the bottom.

You can check out the Mi 10 Youth Edition virtual unboxing here. We advise you to view it on your PC for a better experience but you can also view it on your phone.

The specifications of the smartphone still remains under the wraps but we expect the company to tease some key features ahead of the launch. While the device is set to get launched in China on 27th April, it is already up for reservations.

The company has already launched the Mi 10 Lite smartphone in Europe and the upcoming Mi 10 Youth Edition for the Chinese market could be quite similar in terms of key specifications. The phone is expected to come powered by Snapdragon 765G SoC and 22.5W rapid fast charging support.

The company has also teased some features of the new UI, such as Dark Mode 2.0, custom animates AOD styles, and support for camera layout customisation, among others.

Looking at the Mini-Claw machine, the Doraemon themes toy arrives with 5 mall plastic balls that can contain different props or gadgets, from the popular children’s show. This is also reflected by the smartphone’s name itself, named Youth Edition, and targets the new generation demographic. Some of the aforementioned gadgets include a camera, a candy, a door, and even a magnifying glass. These all tie in with the animated cartoon’s in-universe story and add to the nostalgia for many.
