<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to a report by </span><a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/576/385.htm"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">ITHome</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, Xiaomi is pushing a new MIUI Closed Beta build for Mi 11, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Ultra in China. The said update comes with build number 21.9.17 and brings along Android 12.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">It is the first-ever publicly available MIUI build based on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Android 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Unfortunately, it is only limited to three smartphones and one region (China) at the moment.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Having said that, don’t expect the latest version of Android to arrive on the international variants of the Mi 11 series anytime soon. Because the software has just entered the public testing phase.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">For those unaware, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> is probably the only Android OEM known for releasing weekly </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> Beta builds for its devices. New features are introduced in this channel and they slowly make their way to the Stable channel in China, followed by other regions.</span></p>

The company has released Android 12 Beta for four devices, namely Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11, Mi 11X Pro, and Mi 11i. Now, the firm has begun to test MIUI based on the latest version of Android for some of its phones.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to </span><a href="https://t.me/xiaomiui/8879"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">Xiaomiui</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> (via </span><a href="https://piunikaweb.com/2021/07/14/xiaomi-mi-10-mi-10-pro-mi-10t-android-12-testing-reportedly-started/"><i><span style="font-weight: 400">PiunikaWeb</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400">), Xiaomi has started testing Android 12-based MIUI builds for the following smartphones.</span></p>

Anyway, the tests for the remaining handsets began only recently.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Unfortunately, it’s not known whether Xiaomi is working on Android 12 with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12-5/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12.5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> or </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-13/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 13</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. Hopefully, it’s the latter as users can get the next iteration of MIUI as well as Android together.</span></p>
