Mi 8 UD.</a></p>
<p>The official Xiaomi phone Weibo account, as well as that of top executives, has begun advertising the 2018 flagship ahead of the 618 shopping festival. According to Xiaomi, the Mi 8 Pro will now have a starting price of ¥1999 (~$288). That price gets you the 6GB RAM + 128GB version while ¥2199 (~$317) is the price tag for the 8GB RAM + 128GB version.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-258971" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Mi-8-Explorer-618-festival.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi 8 Explorer 618 festival" width="690" height="2248" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Mi-8-Explorer-618-festival.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Mi-8-Explorer-618-festival-92x300.jpg 92w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Mi-8-Explorer-618-festival-314x1024.jpg 314w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Mi-8-Explorer-618-festival-129x420.jpg 129w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Those prices are really amazing for a phone that sold for ¥3599 (~$519 for the 8GB RAM version) when it launched last year, but the low price isn&#8217;t the only reason why Xiaomi wants you to buy it. The Chinese giant has actually listed 10 new features of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9/">Mi 9</a> which are now available for the Mi 8 Pro and makes it even a more compelling purchase. Below is the list of new features:</p>
<ul>
<li>Game Turbo &#8211; improves gameplay quality of games like PUBG</li>
<li>MI Turbo &#8211; improvement in system performance</li>
<li>New battery optimization features</li>
<li>NFC support for more bus cards</li>
<li>Dark Mode</li>
<li>Dynamic Wallpaper</li>
<li>Color Always-On-Display</li>
<li>New charging animation</li>
<li>In-display fingerprint shortcuts</li>
<li>Screen stays “locked” when you raise the phone in case you just want to check notifications and time.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"></span><b>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/11/xiaomi-leads-china-wearable-device-market/">Xiaomi still leads China’s wearable device market with 21.9% market share</a></b><span style="font-weight: 400;"></div></div></span></p>
<p>In three other separate posts, Xiaomi lists features such as the Snapdragon 845 processor, the dual-frequency GPS, and its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/31/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition-combines-a-pressure-sensitive-sensor-with-synaptics-in-display-fingerprint-scanner-for-faster-unlocking/">pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint scanner</a> as top features of the phone. It particularly brags about the last two since it is the first phone in the world to have both features.</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;258980&#8243;]
<p>The Mi 8 Pro has a 6.21-inch 1080 x 2248 Super AMOLED display with a wide notch at the top for an IR Face Unlock mechanism, a 20MP selfie camera, and sensors. It is powered by the 10nm Snapdragon 845 and paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has dual rear cameras &#8211; a 12MP f/1.8 primary camera and a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. It has a bunch of camera features including 960fps slow-motion recording and Night Mode.</p>
<p>The Mi 8 Pro packs a 3000mh battery with support for Quick Charge 4+. It charges via a USB Type-C port but misses out on wireless charging like its successor. Add all of the above to its unique see-through back and you will be hard pressed to find a better phone at under $300.</p>
<p>The phone will be available at the new prices on the official Xiaomi online store.</p>

Xiaomi however are pushing the limits of price cuts by taking the Mi 8 Pro and its 2999 yuan ($430) price tag and slashing it down to 1899 yuan ($274). That&#8217;s almost a 30% cut, and historically the lowest price that the Mi8 Pro has been listed for.</p>
<p>On top of this huge price cut, there&#8217;s also an extr coupon that cuts the price down ever further to a mere 1799 yuan ($260). This literally brings it down to Poco F1 levels of pricing, and it&#8217;s an great buy. While the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mi-8-pro/">Mi 8 Pro</a> may be a last generation flagship, but it&#8217;s by no means a slouch. It still has excellent build quality, fantastic performance and great cameras.</p>

<p>The device comes with an on-screen fingerprint sensor, as well as last gen&#8217;s Snapdragon 845 SoC. The version on sale here is the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage version, and it&#8217;s the only option. On top of all this, it also features a 6.21 inch of Super AMOLED display having a 2248 x 1080 resolution and a notch.</p>
<p>The cameras on the rear are dual 12MP sensors with OIS and optical zoom. Over on the front, there’s a 20MP f/2.0 sensor in the notch. Its camera supports AI features such as AI scene recognition and AI beautify.  It is powered with a 3400 mAh battery with the fast charging tech. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo atop MIUI skin.</p>

Today, the company has announced that the Mi 8 Pro will get the Mi Turbo mode.</p>
<p>The Mi Turbo is an underlying system optimization technology developed by Xiaomi. The company says that the feature effectively reduces the generation of system debris after long-term use of the device. With Mi Turo mode enabled, the smartphone runs smoothly even after 18 months of continuous usage.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-240137 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi-8-pro-mi-turbo.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Mi Turbo Mode" width="640" height="1280" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi-8-pro-mi-turbo.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi-8-pro-mi-turbo-150x300.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/mi-8-pro-mi-turbo-512x1024.png 512w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p>However, the company has not provided more details related to this new Mi Turbo function that was introduced with the Mi 9 smartphone. From the teaser shared by the company, it&#8217;s known that the function related to anti-system aging for MIUI.</p>
<p>It is different from the Game Turbo mode that dynamically adjusts the CPU frequency according to the game rendering load. In Game Turbo function, with intelligent scheduling of CPU frequency, the CPU is operated at a lower frequency in a less loaded scenario which reduces system power consumption.</p>
<p>Coming to the Mi 8 Pro&#8217;s specifications, the phone features a 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2248 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the device is powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a>‘s Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz, along with Adreno 630 GPU.</p>
<p>It packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage but there’s no microSD card slot for expanding storage. The phone comes with a pressure-sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. It comes with 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage.</p>
<p>In the camera department, the device features a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of two 12-megapixel sensors with Optical Image Stabilizer and optical zoom. On the front side, the device comes equipped with a 20-megapixel f/2.0 camera sensor housed inside the display notch.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The handset supports Dual SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi, dual-band GPS, dual–SIM support, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB OTG, and USB Type-C as connectivity options. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/31/xiaomi-announces-miui-10-with-ai-full-screen-optimizations-innovative-recent-apps-menu/">MIUI 10</a> interface. The list of certified phones and chargers have been updated again and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> phones make up a third of the list.</p>
<p>If you want a phone that supports Quick Charge 4+, you should consider any of the phones below:</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/agm-x3/">AGM X3</a></li>
<li>BQ Aquaris X2</li>
<li>BQ Aquaris X2 Pro</li>

<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-v40-thinq/">LG V40 ThinQ</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-z17/">Nubia Z17</a></li>
<li>Nubia Z18</li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/razer-phone/">Razer Phone</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/razer-phone-2/">Razer Phone 2</a></li>
<li>Qiku N7 Pro</li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/smartisan-nut-r1/">Smartisan R1</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8/">Xiaomi Mi 8</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition/">Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-screen-fingerprint-edition/">Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-a2/">Xiaomi Mi A2</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix-3/">Xiaomi Mi MIX 3</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-pocophone-f1/">Xiaomi POCO F1</a></li>
<li><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-axon-9-pro/">ZTE Axon Pro 9</a></li>
</ul>
<p>Although Xiaomi phones dominate the list, it doesn&#8217;t ship any of the phones with a Quick Charge 4+ charger. We guess the reason for this is to not drive up the cost of the phone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-233363" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Quick-Charge-4-Supported-Devices.jpg?x44794" alt="Quick Charge 4+ Supported Devices" width="600" height="722" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Quick-Charge-4-Supported-Devices.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Quick-Charge-4-Supported-Devices-249x300.jpg 249w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Quick Charge 4+ is faster and more efficient than Quick Charge 3.0 but it likely still won&#8217;t get a lot of adoption for the following reasons. First, a number of manufacturers have their own fast charging technology &#8211; OPPO has VOOC and Super VOOC, OnePlus has Warp Charge, and Huawei and Honor have SuperCharge.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;">READ MORE:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/15/xiaomi-mi-9-better-fast-charging-support/">Xiaomi CEO hints that flagship smartphone Mi 9 will have better fast charging technology</a><span id="more-233354"></span></p>
<p>These manufacturers will rather use their own fast charging technology than paying Qualcomm for Quick Charge 4+ certification. Some of these fast charging technologies are also faster than Quick Charge 4+ which means there isn&#8217;t really any advantage for them to switch.</p>
<p>More phones will join the list this year but don&#8217;t expect them to be a significant number.</p>

Now, the company is all set to launch in the UK and will launch its own store in London as well as it partnered with telecom operator Three UK to sell its phones. In the UK, Xiaomi will offer its products with a contract through a carrier as well as offer SIM-free products.</p>

<p>Mobile operator Three has confirmed that Xiaomi devices will be sold online and in its 327 high-street stores from Friday 9 November. Xiaomi products will be available for purchase in the UK soon after the launch at 2 PM on 8th November through Mi Store and Xiaomi&#8217;s online store in the UK.</p>
<p>Now, a new image posted by the Chinese company reveals that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi/">Xiaomi</a> is holding a launch event in the UK on 8th November. The image teases a smartphone having an in-display fingerprint sensor and an infinity symbol which could also be interpreted as &#8220;8&#8221;. This hints that the company is planning to launch the Mi 8 Pro in the UK. Along with the Mi 8 Pro, we also expect the company to launch a few other smartphones, including the Lite variant of the Mi 8.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-221149 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Xiaomi-UK-Launch-Event.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi UK Launch Event" width="728" height="242" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Xiaomi-UK-Launch-Event.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Xiaomi-UK-Launch-Event-300x100.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro features a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED display having 2248 x 1080 pixels screen resolution with a notch on top. In terms of camera, there are dual 12MP sensors on the back with OIS and optical zoom. On the front side, there’s a 20MP f/2.0 camera sensor housed inside the notch.</p>
<p>The major feature on the Pro variant is that it comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor, which brings convenience for the users to unlock the device. The device is powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a>‘s Snapdragon 845 processor and comes in 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.</p>

Instead, the device kept on with the popular rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which seems to be fading away gradually from latest flagship models. Xiaomi took care of that with the recent launch of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-pro">Mi 8 Pro</a>. Xiaomi isn&#8217;t letting the frenzy generated by the launch die down as the Chinese company has officially announced a big news. Donovan Sung, Xiaomi&#8217;s Global spokesperson disclosed via a tweet that the Mi 8 Pro will be launching globally soon across the markets Xiaomi is present. Mr Sung also shared some unboxing photos of the device.</p>

The Mi 8 Pro comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and it can be availed in three refreshing colors in the home market. The three color editions of the Mi 8 Pro include Transparent version (like the Mi 8 Explorer Edition), Ochre Black and Twilight Gold. Here are some hands-on photos of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-lite/">Mi 8 Lite</a> are the first phones to arrive with gradient color hues. The Twilight Gold edition of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-pro">Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro</a> offers a color changing appearance on its glass rear with pinkish-red at the top and orangish-gold at the bottom. It surely boasts a premium appeal.</p>

<p>The back panel of the phone only features a vertical dual camera setup since the fingerprint scanner is embedded under the 6.26-inch AMOLED screen on the front. The notched display offers an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. Instead of the advanced 3D facial recognition sensors available on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition">Mi 8 Explorer Edition</a>, the Mi 8 Pro features infrared face unlock technology like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8">Xiaomi Mi 8</a>. The infrared face unlock makes it possible to unlock the phone in dark environments.</p>
<p>The notch of the Mi 8 Pro houses a 20-megapixel selfie camera, infrared lens with a pixel size of 3micron and infrared illuminator. The vertical dual camera setup features dual 12-megapixel lenses with Sony IMX363 as the primary sensor. The primary lens has a pixel size of 1.4micron, supports dual pixel autofocus and 4-axis OIS.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/20/xiaomi-mi-8-pro-hands-on-images-reveal-beauty-of-twilight-gold-variant/xaomi-mi-8-pro-hands-on-4/" rel="attachment wp-att-212932"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212932" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xaomi-Mi-8-Pro-hands-on-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Xaomi Mi 8 Pro hands-on" width="700" height="525" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xaomi-Mi-8-Pro-hands-on-4.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xaomi-Mi-8-Pro-hands-on-4-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xaomi-Mi-8-Pro-hands-on-4-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a></p>
<p>According to Xiaomi, the current phones with in-display fingerprint scanner waste energy as they repeatedly check whether a finger is present on the screen. Instead of a regular in-screen fingerprint reader, the Mi 8 Pro comes equipped with pressure-sensitive in-display sensor which is activated only when pressure is applied on the display.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/20/xiaomi-mi-8-pro-hands-on-images-reveal-beauty-of-twilight-gold-variant/xiaomi-mi-8-pro-hands-on-screen-fingerprint/" rel="attachment wp-att-212936"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212936" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-MI-8-Pro-hands-on-Screen-Fingerprint.gif?x44794" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>The company claimed that this technology is faster than the in-screen fingerprint scanner employed by rivalling companies. The above clip shows how fast the in-display fingerprint scanner of the Mi 8 Pro is.</p>

The new variant of the Mi 8 comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition/">Mi 8 Explorer Edition</a> and also comes in two new colors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212639" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-Twilight-Gold-b.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Screen Fingerprint Edition Twilight Gold b" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-Twilight-Gold-b.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-Twilight-Gold-b-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-Twilight-Gold-b-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-Twilight-Gold-b-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>Xiaomi states that the in-display fingerprint scanner has been improved when compared to that of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. Unlock speed is said to be 29% higher and the success rate has improved by up to 8.8%. We want to believe that the phone has an upgraded pressure sensitive sensor which helps unlock the phone faster. We explained how that works <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/31/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition-combines-a-pressure-sensitive-sensor-with-synaptics-in-display-fingerprint-scanner-for-faster-unlocking/">here</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212636" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-upgrade.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro Screen Fingerprint Edition" width="1920" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-upgrade.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-upgrade-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-upgrade-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Xiaomi-Mi-8-Screen-Fingerprint-Edition-upgrade-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></p>
<p>The Mi 8 Pro has a transparent back like that of the Mi Explorer but also comes in two new color variants. One of them is twilight gold which has a gradient design and the other is Ochre Black.</p>
<p>The Mi 8 Pro packs similar specs with the regular <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8/">Mi 8</a>. So you get a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 2248 x 1080 resolution and a notch. There is a Snapdragon 845 processor under the hood along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.</p>
<p>The cameras on the rear are dual 12MP sensors with OIS and optical zoom while a 20MP f/2.0 sensor sits within the notch. The battery capacity is 3,400mAh and the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Alongside having an in-display fingerprint scanner, the phone also keeps the infrared face unlock of the regular Mi 8.</p>

Since its launch, it has remained a China-exclusive but that may be changing soon.</p>
<p>Remember the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/31/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition-with-a-smaller-notch-spotted-on-tenaa/">Mi 8 Explorer Edition with a smaller notch</a> seen on TENAA last month? A device with the exact model number has been seen at Singapore&#8217;s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). What is interesting is that the listing also reveals the Xiaomi M1807E8A will be marketed as the Mi 8 Pro and not the Mi 8 Explorer Edition.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210668" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi 8 Pro" width="728" height="61" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro-300x25.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>Apart from having a smaller notch, the Mi 8 Pro has the same specs as the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. There are unconfirmed rumors that the smaller notch may mean it won&#8217;t have the advanced 3D face scanning technology of the Explorer Edition.</p>
<p>The Mi 8 Pro has a 6.21-inch OLED screen with a 2248 x 1080 resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset with 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM. Depending on the RAM, the phone will have 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-210669" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro-featured.jpg?x44794" alt="Mi 8 Pro featured" width="808" height="493" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro-featured.jpg 808w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro-featured-300x183.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Mi-8-Pro-featured-768x469.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 808px) 100vw, 808px" /></p>
<p>There is a 20MP sensor in front and dual 12MP sensors on the rear. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner and packs a 2900mAh battery. It also runs Android 8.1 Oreo.</p>

<p>There is no info with respect to a release date for the Mi 8 Pro yet. We also do not know if Xiaomi will be launching it in other countries too.</p>

The smartphones approved by EEC are expected to debut in Europe in future. Few more Xiaomi handsets were also certified yesterday by the EEC.</p>
<p>Smartphones such as Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6S and Redmi 6X were certified by the EEC yesterday. As it can be seen, some of these smartphones have already launched in China, but Mi A2 Lite, Mi 8 Pro, Redmi 6S and 6X are yet to go official. EEC certificate was issued to these smartphones on June 14, 2018 and it is valid until January 2027.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/28/redmi-6x-6s-mi-a2-lite-and-mi-8-pro-have-received-eec-approval-along-with-other-xiaomi-phones/xiaomi-eec-models/" rel="attachment wp-att-198531"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-198531" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Xiaomi-EEC-Models.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi EEC Models" width="867" height="567" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Xiaomi-EEC-Models.png 867w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Xiaomi-EEC-Models-300x196.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Xiaomi-EEC-Models-768x502.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 867px) 100vw, 867px" /></a></p>
<p>The Mi A2 Lite with a model number of M1805D15SG was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/06/03/mi-a2-lite-passes-through-singapores-communications-authority/">spotted at the Singapore’s Communications Authority</a> in the previous month. Apart from this, there is no other information available on this smartphone.</p>
<p>Among the recently introduced Redmi 6 series, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-6-pro-2/">Redmi 6 Pro</a> features a notched 19:9 display whereas the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-6">Redmi 6</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-6a">Redmi 6A</a> phones have notch-less 18:9 display. Since the Redmi 6 and 6X are not “Pro” models, there is a possibility that they arrive with full screen design like the Redmi 6 and 6A smartphones.</p>
<p>The Mi 8 Pro was not announced at the launch event of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8">Mi 8</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-explorer-edition/">Mi 8 Explorer Edition</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-se/">Mi 8 SE</a> that was held at the end of May. There is a possibility that the Mi 8 Pro could be nothing but the highest storage variant of the Mi 8 that features 256 GB of storage.</p>

<p>Apart from the aforementioned devices, smartphones like Mi 7 Lite, Mi Mix 2s, Mi Mix 3S, Mi S1, Mi S2, Mi S3, Redmi S1, Redmi S3, Redmi A1, Redmi A2, Redmi Note 6, Redmi Note 6A, Redmi Note 6A Prime, Redmi Note 6 Prime, Redmi 6 Plus, and Redmi 6A Plus were also approved by EEC in May. Xiaomi made its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/04/26/hello-mother-russia-xiaomi-makes-grand-entry-russia-three-smartphones/">foray into the Eastern Europe</a> earlier this year including its launch in Russia and it is also working on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/10/28/xiaomi-set-storm-western-europe-launching-spain-november-7/">expanding its business in Western Europe</a>. Hence, it appears that all the Xiaomi phones that have been approved by EEC recently may soon begin launching in Europe.</p>
