Yesterday, we presented you some pictures of the Deep Space gray solid colors of the Mi 8 Youth and purported Mi Fingerprint edition in the renders.

As per the new real pictures of Mi 8 Youth, it can be seen that how beautiful gradient colors look in the real life. Both the variants are made from the glass material as we can see the reflection of face on one of the pictures above. Along with that the design of the device has been verified once again. There are horizontal camera shooters and a fingerprint sensor on the back. There are some certifications and Mi logo that has been inscribed on the back of device.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Specs

Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Edition is reported to carry Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC / SD660 with different RAM variants such as 4 GB and 6 GB. It will carry a 6.26-inch 2280 x 1080p display with 19:9 aspect ratio. There will be a 12 megapixel dual shooter on the rear and 24 megapixel on the front side of the device. Buyers who are stunned with the design and some of the purported specs can register to purchase the device in China, it is expected to be available at the price starting from 1999 Yuan (~$291).

Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth edition will come in various color choices as Xiaomi is targeting it for the young generation. Already, the device has leaked Deep Space Blue, White, Fantasy Blue gradient color and Twilight gold gradient colors via the official renders.

The Youth edition is already up for reservations in China and users can reserve it from various online stores. It is not clear whether the Mi 8 in-Screen Fingerprint edition will carry gradient color variants like of Mi 8 Youth or not. Well, it would be a good option for the buyers if Xiaomi introduce similar colors for the Fingerprint edition. Xiaomi has also teased to launch limited edition Xiaomi NFC bracelets along with the smartphones.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth is all set for launch on September 19 at an event in Chengdu. Xiaomi is bringing some new colors for the device, a gradient color version has leaked on Weibo. Already, the device has been spotted in pure white color at TENNA. It means there would be a gradient color variant along with the usual solid colors. The gradient back consists of bright yellow and pink colors as seen in the image below. It seems to be the same gradient version which was seen in the hands of Kris Wu.

It’s a good news for those who were looking for a gradient color option in the upcoming Mi 8 Youth. It seems, all other features and specs are same in the Mi 8 Youth gradient edition.

Update: The leaked Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth gradient edition has been confirmed by Xiaomi. They have posted a teaser video consisting the same gradient color. Also, it will give a better option for girls to choose the Mi 8 Youth gradient color variant.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth Specs

In other specs, it includes 6.26 inch display having 2280×1080 resolution with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It measures 156.4×75.8×7.5mm and have 3250 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 compatibility. The back glass body features a fingerprint sensor with a dual camera of 12+ 12 megapixel sensors. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC (eight core 2.2GHz ) coupled with 4/6/8 GB RAM having 32/64/128 GB of internal storage.  It will run on Android 8.1 out of the box with a support of 4K video recording via its camera.

Xiaomi is expected to release two new phones belonging to the Mi 8 series. One is the Mi 8 Youth and the other is the Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition. A device with model number M1808D2TE has been seen on TENAA and we believe it is the Mi 8 Youth.

The Mi 8 Youth is a less powerful version of the other Mi 8 devices and it shows in the specs. It has a 6.26-inch screen with a 2280 x 1080 resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi has decided to go with LCD and not Super AMOLED to keep the price down.

The phone is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. This is believed to be the Snapdragon 710 processor which also powers the Mi 8 SE. There are three RAM + storage configurations – 4GB + 32GB, 6GB + 64GB, and 8GB + 128GB.

The Mi 8 Youth has a 24MP front-facing camera and dual cameras on the back. One of the dual cameras is a 12MP sensor but the secondary sensor isn’t stated. Unlike the other Mi 8 devices which have vertically arranged rear cameras, the cameras on the Mi 8 Youth are horizontal. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo, has an infrared sensor, and a MicroSD card slot. It packs a 3,250mAh battery, second to that of the Mi 8 in terms of capacity. It measures 156.4 x 75.8 x 7.5 mm and weighs 169 grams. TENAA has listed a ton of colors for the phone. It will come in Black, Rose gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, Silver, Green, Blue-Violet Gradient, and Purple Gold Gradient.

Fresh information reveals that Xiaomi will be announcing two new phones later this month. A tipster from India has claimed that these new phones could be called Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition. Hence, it appears that the company could be planning to extend the Mi 8 family by introducing the aforementioned phones.

Very less information is available on the specifications of these phones. It has been revealed that the Mi 8 Youth will be coming in variants such as 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM. It may arrive in colors like Space Gray, Gold and Blue.

The Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition is expected to be available in models such as 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 8 GB RAM. It could be unveiled in Black and Gold options.

Xiaomi has recently launched the Poco sub-brand by announcing the Poco F1 smartphone. During the launch event of the Poco F1, the company did not list it among the markets that were supposed to receive the handset. Rumors have it that the very same handset may arrive with a different name in China. It could be either called Xiaomi Mi 8 Youth or Mi 8C. Probably, this phone may carry a price tag of around $300.

The Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition could be the very same Xiaomi Mi 8 flagship smartphone that was announced in May. The only major difference between the two phones could be that the display of the Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition could be embedded with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi is yet to confirm on the existence of the Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition. After unveiling these phones later this month, the Chinese manufacturer will be debuting the Mi MIX 3 smartphone in October. There is no information available on the specifications of the Mi MIX 3. However, recent reports have revealed that it will be equipped be arriving with a slider design, in-display fingerprint scanner and 3D facial scanner.
