While Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed that the company will launch multiple products at the upcoming event, the company has not revealed what are the products making a debut on 31st May. However, previous reports have indicated that along with Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone, the Chinese manufacturer is planning to launch Mi 7 and Mi Band 3 fitness tracker.

Earlier, a leaked screenshot had surfaced online, which revealed that the China-based company had already sold tickets for the upcoming Shenzhen event that is scheduled to take place on May 31, which are said to have been priced between 799 Yuan (~$125) and 1,999 Yuan (~$314). The launch event, which is believed to be one of the biggest and most important launch events for Xiaomi this year, will be accommodating a large capacity of 5,000 people.

While not yet confirmed, the company is expected to launch its flagship smartphone of the year — Mi 7 and the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker at the Shenzhen event. However, the company has confirmed that its flagship smartphone Mi 8, the 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone from Xiaomi will be launched at the event.

It was speculated that the company will be announcing the Mi Max 3 smartphone at the Shenzhen event, given that the Mi Max 2 was launched in May. However, Lei Jun recently confirmed that there’s no possibility of Mi Max 3 launch before July this year.

Two variants of a Xiaomi smartphone have received approval from China Compulsory Certification (3C) authority in China and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. just ahead of the launch. It is speculated that these two variants are the forthcoming Xiaomi Mi 8.

The listing of two models — M1805E1A and M1805E1A don’t provide any information on the specifications of these two variants. The only thing that has been revealed through the listing is that both models carry support for 5V/3A, 9V/, A and 12V/1.5A charging.

Based on the previous rumors, the Mi 8th Anniversary Edition will be a flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 chipset. It is expected to feature 6.01-inch OLED display with notch and 3D facial recognition. There is a possibility that under display fingerprint scanner will be also available on the phone. The handset could be powered by a 4,000mAh battery.

While there are speculations that the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 7 smartphones could debut together on May 31, some reports are contradicting that with the claim that the Mi 8 has replaced the Mi 7 smartphone. To know for sure, we’ll have to wait for the event.

It is speculated that the Chinese firm may reveal that it will be holding the 2018 Annual Product Launch event on May 31. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already confirmed a variety of new products will be unveiled at Shenzhen. However, major attraction of the show will be none other than the Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition phone that may hit the market with Xiaomi Mi 8 moniker. Two variants of a Xiaomi phone have received approval from China Compulsory Certification (3C) authority in China and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. just ahead of the Xiaomi phone that will take place by the end of this month. It is speculated that the two variants could belong to the forthcoming Xiaomi Mi 8.

Shown above is the 3C listings of M1805E1A and M1805E1A. As usual, the 3C does not give any information on the specifications of these two variants. The only thing that has been revealed through it is that both models carry support for 5V/3A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A charging.

Show above are the FCC listings of M1805E1A and M1805E1A. Apart from confirming that these devices have been certified by the FCC, nothing is known on their specifications.

Since a leaked image that had appeared recently revealed front panels of two notch enabled Xiaomi phones with different sizes sitting besides each other, it is speculated that the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 7 smartphones may debut together on May 31.
Rumors are rife that the Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition will be an advanced flagship phone featuring Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6.01-inch OLED display with notch and 3D facial recognition. There is a possibility that under display fingerprint scanner will be also available on the phone. The handset may receive power from 4,000mAh capacity battery.
The wider notch seen in the above image shown above matches with the leaked image of the Mi 8’s 3D facial scanning module that had surfaced in the last week.

Like the TrueDepth Camera system on the iPhone X that enables Face ID 3D facial recognition on it, the Mi 8’s notch could be packed with multiple sensors like front camera, earpiece, proximity sensor, ambient sensor, infrared lens, flood illuminator and dot projector and so on. This could be the reason why the alleged Mi 8 features a wider notch.

All Android phones available in the market that are equipped face unlock feature carry support for 2D facial scanning. They can recognize face to unlock the phone in bright light, but they are not reliable in dim-light conditions. Hence, 2D facial scanning is not as accurate as 3D facial recognition available on the iPhone X. As mentioned above, the Mi 8 could be arriving as the first Android smartphone with 3D facial recognition.

The above image shows front panel of two notched display phones. These could be the upcoming flagship phones from the company. The front panel present on the left side corresponds with the very first image in this post which suggests it could be belong to the Xiaomi Mi 8. However, the front panel of the mysterious phone shown on the right reveals that it is a smaller device than the Mi 8. The size of its chin is also smaller than the Mi 8. It is speculated that the front panel placed on the right side could belong to the Mi 7.

Xiaomi’s Shenzhen event is only 10 days away. Hence, the rumor mill is expected to reveal more information on the upcoming Xiaomi devices that are expected to go official on May 31. Some rumors have claimed that the Mi Max 3 may also debut on the said date. However, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has today revealed that it could be announced in July.

The company’s CEO Lei Jun has already revealed that a variety of new products will be announced at the event. However, the exact date of the launch event has not been revealed yet.

Recently, we reported that the event could take place on May 31. Now, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has said that the company will host a launch event in Shenzhen, China at the end of this month. While he has not revealed the exact date, the confirmation is in line with our previous report, indicating that the event is likely to take place on 31st May.

Earlier, a leaked screenshot had surfaced online, revealing that the China-based company had already sold tickets for the upcoming Shenzhen event that is scheduled to take place on May 31, which are said to have been priced between 799 Yuan (~$125) and 1,999 Yuan (~$314).

The launch event, which is believed to be one of the biggest and most important launch events for Xiaomi this year, will be accommodating a large capacity of 5,000 people. At the event, the Chinese firm will launch multiple products, including the rumored Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone.

While not yet confirmed, the company is expected to launch its flagship smartphone of the year — Mi 7, as well as Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone, and the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker at the Shenzhen event. Further, there’s a possibility that the China-based company will launch the Mi Max 3, given that the Mi Max 2 was launched in May.

The Xioami Mi 7 is expected to come with a 5.65-inch Full-HD+ display, 16MP + 16MP dual camera setup at the back and a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support. Further, the company has also hinted that the device will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a notch over the display.

The Mi 8th Anniversary Edition product name has been spotted on the Mi Community in China as well as China’s Mi Store. The smartphone is being rumored as the rebranded version of Mi 7 Plus. However, we’ll have to wait for the event to know what the company actually launches.

Multiple leaks that have surfaced in the recent past have revealed that Xiaomi may debut the Mi 8 Anniversary Edition smartphone. It might even arrive with Xiaomi Mi 8 moniker. Today, a leaked photo showing the black-colored box package with number 8 mentioned has surfaced today. Also, another leak has revealed the front panel of the Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone.

The box package in the above image is yet another proof that Xiaomi is prepping up to launch the rumored Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone. The image shows a front panel placed inside a plastic cover with Xiaomi Mi 8 mentioned over it. What’s interesting about this leak is that it clearly shows the wide notch at the top that is most likely to house the structured light 3D module for 3D facial recognition. The image reveals that the Mi 8 will be sporting slimmer side bezels and a slightly thicker chin.

There is no information available on the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 8. Since it is expected to arrive as a flagship phone, it will be driven by Snapdragon 845. The handset is also speculated to feature an OLED display. There is a possibility that this advanced smartphone may also feature an under-display fingerprint scanner.

The Shenzhen event that will accommodating around 5,000 people is expected to be the most important product launch for the company this year. Hence, it will be used by the company to introduce multiple devices. The 2018 Annual Product Launch that is slated to take place at Shenzhen is speculated to be the most important product launch event of the year for the company. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already revealed that a variety of new products will be announced at the event. However, the exact date of the launch event is yet to be disclosed. In the recent past, a couple of tipsters from China have claimed that Xiaomi has a product launch event at the end of this month. A leaked screenshot that has surfaced today has revealed that the company has already sold tickets for an upcoming Shenzhen event that is scheduled to take place on May 31.

The below image clearly shows the May 31 date. Also, the tickets for the forthcoming event are priced between 799 Yuan (~$125) and 1,999 Yuan (~$314). The details mentioned in the image shows that the event will be accommodating a large capacity of 5,000 people. The launch event for the Mi MIX 2S that was held in March housed 2,000 people. This indicates that the Chinese firm will launch multiple products at the launch event including the rumored Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone.

It appears that the Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary smartphone exists for real as the company has it has been formally introduced in the Mi Community.

The product name was also recently spotted among other Xiaomi devices on the Chinese version of the Mi Store app.

Also, an image showing the 3D face recognition module of the phone was recently revealed by the rumor mill.

Update: Freshly leaked photos showing the box package and front panel of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 8 have also appeared.

What could be the reason Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi Mi 8 phone? In December 2013, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had entered bet worth 1 billion yuan with business rival Dong Mingzhu, the President of Gree Electronics Appliances by saying that his company would outdo Gree Group in business volume in five years. After Jun and Mingzhu confirmed on the bet, Xiaomi co-founder and senior vice president Li Wanqiang had claimed on Weibo that regardless of the outcome of the bet, the company would give away 100 Xiaomi Mi 8 units.

The year 2018 happens to be the fifth year of the bet. If the company does not launch Xiaomi Mi 8 this year, Li Wanqiang could end up breaking his promise.

Xiaomi is expected to debut Xiaomi Mi 7, Mi 8th Anniversary Edition phone and Mi Band 3 fitness tracker at the May 31 Shenzhen event. Last year, Xiaomi had launched the Mi Max 2 in May. Hence, fans are eagerly waiting for the Mi Max 3 to get unveiled with a huge 18:9 aspect ratio screen. However, there is no confirmation whether it will be unleashed on May 31.

Early rumors had claimed that Xiaomi would be launching the Xiaomi Mi 7 phone by the first half of 2018. Hence, the Shenzhen event could be used to announce the arrival of the Mi 7 flagship. However, well-known industry expert Kevin Wang claimed on Weibo that Xiaomi will be using the same platform to announce many new products. Interestingly, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has quoted the same Weibo post by Wang to confirm that his company will indeed launch “a variety of new products” through the Shenzhen event.

The press conference that will be held at Shenzhen by the company is dubbed as Xiaomi’s 2018 Annual Product Launch. This seems to be the most important launch event for Xiaomi this year. Hence, apart from Xiaomi Mi 7 that is likely to arrive with under-display fingerprint scanner, the Chinese firm is also rumored to debut the 8th Anniversary Edition phone. The latter is also being referred to as Xiaomi Mi 8.

The Mi Band 2 was launched in June last year. Hence, the company could be aiming to launch its successor phone exactly after one year. The Mi Band 3 is rumored to feature an OLED display that will be enabled with gestures support. Other rumored features of the Mi Band 3 include IP67 rated body, NFC support and Bluetooth 4.2.

There is no information on when it will be holding the unveil event. Hence, these phones are rumored to go official either by the end of this month or in June. Recent reports have revealed that the Chinese manufacturer will be launching a special edition phone to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the company. Rumors are rife that it will be arriving with an iPhone X-like advanced 3D facial recognition feature. Today, a Chinese leakster with Kumamoto Technology Weibo account has shared an image showing the Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone sitting alongside other Mi series phone on the Mi Store app has appeared online. This seems to be yet another proof that the company may debut the 8th anniversary special edition phone soon.

As it can be seen in the above image, the handset is found listed with Xiaomi Mi 8th Anniversary Edition on China’s Mi Store app. Some rumors have claimed that this handset could be called Xiaomi Mi 8. The company is also speculated to launch the Xiaomi Mi 7 phone, but the handset is not listed on the app. The leakster claims that the company will not be launching the Mi 7 phone. As of this writing, there is no information available on the specs of the 8th anniversary Xiaomi phone.

Rumors have it that it will be having a notched display. The notch of the Xiaomi Mi 8 is speculated to wider than the notched Android smartphones that have launched so far. The probable reason behind it is that it is rumored to include structured light 3D module for scanning the face of the user in 3D. The above image is speculated to be 3D face recognition module of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 8.

There is no confirmation on the authenticity of the above image. It’s not very difficult to modify a screenshot of the Mi Store app to add a listing for the rumored Mi 8 Anniversary Edition smartphone. Hence, we advise our readers to digest this report with a grain of salt.
