<p>Your favorite phone manufacturers will be attending and a few of them have even released posters confirming their presence. The thing is that all the posters look the same. They share the same design save for the manufacturer&#8217;s name, the phone in the picture and the text in the images.</p>
<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/nubia">Nubia</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oppo">OPPO</a>, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a>, and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> are those who have confirmed they will be attending.</p>
<p>For the Nubia poster, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nubia-red-magic-3/">Red Magic 3</a> is the device shown. OPPO&#8217;s poster has its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-10x-zoom/">Reno 10x Zoom</a> phone and Vivo&#8217;s poster has the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-iqoo/">iQOO gaming smartphone</a>. The Xiaomi poster includes a photo of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-transparent-edition/">Mi 9 Transparent Edition</a>.</p>
<p>What is common to all four posters is the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> logo at the top and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming logo at the bottom.</p>
<p>Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming was announced this year. It is a set of hardware and software features that “transforms premium mobile devices into gaming machines”. The technology is only available on phones powered by the Snapdragon 855.</p>
<p>These four phones will be on display at the expo, and if you are attending, you should be able to take them for a spin.</p>

Just like the Mi 8 EE, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-transparent-edition/">Mi 9 Transparent Edition</a> has a see-through glass back that shows the “internals” of the phone. The phone which went on sale this month is already shipping to owners. Below are unboxing photos which of the phone and it has an important surprise.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-243813" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-unboxing.jpeg?x96852" alt="Mi 9 Transparent Edition unboxing" width="728" height="546" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-unboxing.jpeg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-unboxing-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-unboxing-160x120.jpeg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>When the Mi 9 launched, a review by <em>Gsmarena</em> revealed the phone ships with an 18W charger and not a 27W charger which the phone supports. If you want the 27W charger, you will have to purchase the 20W wireless charger bundle which includes the 27W charger and the 20W wireless charging pad.</p>
<p>For the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, unboxing photos shared by <em>ITHome</em> shows the phone ships with the 27W charger, so you don&#8217;t need to spend extra to get it. However, you still have to buy the 20W wireless charger separately. The 27W charger supports 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/2.25A, and 20V/1.35A power ratings.</p>
[envira-gallery id=&#8221;243792&#8243;]
<p>Apart from the difference in design, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It also has an 8GB RAM + 256GB version which won&#8217;t be available for purchase until April. Another major difference is the primary camera. The 48MP sensor on the Mi 9 Transparent Edition has an f/1.47 aperture while the regular Mi 9&#8217;s 48MP sensor has an f/1.8 aperture. The rest of the specs are the same.</p>

<p>The Mi 9 Transparent Edition is a beautiful phone and while the internals you see is not real, save for the wireless charging coil, it will still turn heads when you pull it out of your pocket.</p>

Naturally, when Xiaomi announced the new Mi 9 lineup earlier this year, we got a new </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-transparent-edition/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mi 9 transparent edition</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as well. However, it looks like the company has finally decided to remove last year’s Mi 8 transparent edition from its official channels.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-featured-1.jpg?x96852"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-237216" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-featured-1.jpg?x96852" alt="Mi 9 Transparent Edition" width="1024" height="576" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-featured-1.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-featured-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-Transparent-Edition-featured-1-768x432.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">IThome was first to spot that the old model was no longer available to purchase on the company’s website. A simple search revealed that only its cases were left for purchase. Even on JD.com, it was found that the old model was nowhere to be seen. So it’s quite clear that </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> decided to scrap the old model in favor of the new one. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In case you don’t know, the transparent back on both the Mi 8 and Mi 9 models doesn’t really show the internals of the phone. Unlike the transparent </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/htc-u12-plus/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">HTC U12+</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> which did reveal some of its parts, Xiaomi’s take on this design is to fake the internals. This means that what you see on the back is just another design element that’s placed below the glass. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The new Mi 9 transparent model comes with an even fancier design. And, if you don’t mind that it&#8217;s a fake design, then it’s definitely something that will stand out of the crowd. Of course, you’ll have to shell out a lot more for the transparent edition, and currently, it retails for nearly $600, that is, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/03/14/xiaomi-cancels-the-mi-9-se-and-mi-9-transparent-edition-sales-billed-for-today-march-14/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">if you can get hold of one</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in a flash sale. </span></p>

<h4><strong>Mi 9</strong></h4>
<p>The Mi 9 packs a 6.39-inch 2340 x 1080 AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch that houses the selfie camera. As Xiaomi revealed a few days ago, the display is supplied by <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> and is covered with Gorilla Glass 6.</p>
<p>Under the hood of the Mi 9 is Qualcomm&#8217;s Snapdragon 855 processor and it is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is also an 8GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage too. Sorry, there is no 64GB version this year or rather Xiaomi didn&#8217;t announce one today.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-237353" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-cameras.jpg?x96852" alt="Mi 9 cameras" width="1024" height="410" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-cameras.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-cameras-300x120.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Mi-9-cameras-768x308.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>The Mi 9 is Xiaomi&#8217;s first triple camera phone and it doesn&#8217;t disappoint. The first camera with the holographic ring around it (red on the transparent edition) is actually the telephoto lens &#8211; a 12MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3M5 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and 2x optical zoom. Beneath the sensor is the laser-focus module.</p>
<p>The next sensor is the primary camera &#8211; a 48MP Sony IMX586 f/1.75 sensor with a 6P lens. There is also a 16MP Sony IMX481 f/2.2 sensor for taking wide-angle photos and macro shots.
