Yesterday, Xiaomi unveiled three new Redmi Note 11 smartphones for international markets. At the same time, the company also announced a limited edition of the vanilla Redmi Note 11. This device is officially Redmi Note 11 Xiaomi Fan Festival Special Edition.

Xiaomi is known for hosting fan festivals every year. During these days, the firm offers discounts on a wide variety of its products worldwide. 

The festival was officially called the ‘Mi Fan Festival’ (MFF) till 2021. Now, as the company has dropped the ‘Mi’ branding, it will be called the ‘Xiaomi Fan Festival’ (XFF) going forward. The 2022 edition is scheduled to start from April 6.

Ahead of that, Xiaomi has announced a special Redmi Note dubbed as ‘Redmi Note 11 Xiaomi Fan Festival Special Edition’. It also goes by the name of ‘Redmi Note 11 XFF Special Edition’. This version of the handset has the same set of features as the regular model.

The only difference is that the limited edition phone comes in a single Star Blue colorway with the Fan Festival logo embossed on its rear. Also, it ships in a customized box with some stickers.

Unfortunately, Xiaomi has neither revealed the availability nor the price of this smartphone yet. Going by the previous iterations in the series (Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 9S), it will be most likely limited to certain markets.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro last month in India. A couple of weeks later, the same device was rebadged to Redmi Note 9S for other markets. Now, the brand announces a Mi Fan Festival (MFF) 2020 Limited Edition of this handset on its official Twitter handle.

Xiaomi will be hosting its annual Mi Fan Festival Sale from April 6. During this period, the company will be also selling 2,020 units of Redmi Note 9S MFF 2020 Limited Edition. 

This special edition of the phone will feature the logo of Mi Fan Festival 2020 above the Redmi branding on the rear glass panel. Other than that, this is expected to be the same phone but maybe with a special theme outside the box.

However, we are not sure what will be storage configuration on this limited edition handset by Xiaomi. But we are certain it will retain all other specs of the standard Redmi Note 9S such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G, 6.67-inches FHD+ IPS LCD punch-hole screen, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 48MP (primary) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (macro) + 2MP (depth) quad-camera setup, USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm headphone jack, IR blaster, 5,020 mAh battery, and 18W fast charging.

Unfortunately, Xiaomi is yet to reveal the price of the Redmi Note 9S MFF 2020 Limited Edition.

Xiaomi has announced that the company will be holding a new event on 3rd April and as a part of its Mi Fan Festival to celebrate the 10-year anniversary, it will be announcing 22 new products.

However, the company has not yet revealed what those products will be that will get launched on 3rd April for the Mi Fan Festival. To know, we’ll have to wait for the official event that will kick-off at around 02:00 PM local time in China.

While the company has not revealed details about the upcoming products, we expect that Xiaomi will be launching several smart home products, a category which the company has been highly focused on.

This is a similar move from Xiaomi last year where the company had announced 20 new products as a part of its Mi Fan Festival 2019. However, do note that not all the devices are debuted but some of them have already been launched but might get relaunched at a crazy pricing for the Mi fans.

To find out what’s up the company’s sleeves this time for the Mi Fan Festival 2020, we’ll have to wait for the kick-off on 3rd April. The development comes just as the company is recovering from the disruption caused by coronavirus in China.
