<p><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12.5 </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/28/miui-12-5-announced-new-features-rollout-supported-devices/"><span style="font-weight: 400">was unveiled</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> at the Mi 11 launch event at the end of December 2020. Xiaomi began to release the stable update in late March 2021. Since then, it has updated most of its portfolio in China.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Mi MIX 2S is one of the last few older flagships eligible for the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12-5/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 12.5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> update. Hence, it is getting the update only now. The latest system update for the handset in China </span><a href="https://t.me/MIUIUpdatesTracker/14227"><span style="font-weight: 400">arrives</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> with build number </span><b>V12.5.1.0.QDGCNXM</b><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The software build is currently in the ‘Stable Beta’ phase. In other words, it is being rolled out in batches for a select few users. At the end of the day, the update should be available for all users in the coming days.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Since Xiaomi released </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-mix-2s/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Mi MIX 2S</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> outside mainland China, the device also has two other regional software builds &#8211; ‘Global’ and ‘Russia’. Handsets running these builds will be also getting the new update soon.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S launched with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-9/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI 9</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> based on Android 8.0 Oreo. To this, the executive simply replied that the update is ready. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">This means we can expect </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Xiaomi/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Xiaomi</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> to start rolling out the  MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 8 in the coming days.
