Along with a bunch of optimizations, the update also carries the February 2022 security patch.

The firmware is labeled V13.0.1.0.SFNEUXM and the complete ROM zip should be sized 2.9GB. The MIUI 13 launch events outside of China hadn’t introduced much in terms of features aside from new wallpapers, so don’t expect too much from the build.

Anyway, the complete official changelog has been given below for your reference.

System

‌Stable MIUI based on Android 12

‌Updated Android Security Patch to February 2022. Increased system security

More features and improvements

‌New: Apps can be opened as floating windows directly from the sidebar

Optimization: Enhanced accessibility support for Phone, Clock, and Weather

Optimization: Mind map nodes are more convenient and intuitive now

Xiaomiui says that the update is being rolled out only for those that are part of the Mi Pilot Testers program currently so it may be a while before it arrives on your device.

Still, you can download the update manually through this link, and install it by heading over to Settings > About phone > System update. No guarantees, though, since the build is currently Pilot-exclusive.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite was launched back in April 2020 and first booted into Android 10, meaning that this Android 12 update is the last Android version upgrade for it.

To keep the price low, Xiaomi made some tradeoffs mainly in the camera department. For example, the 108MP primary camera is replaced with a 64MP sensor.

Xiaomi didn’t launch the original Mi Note 10 series in India and neither did the Mi Note 10 Lite get an Indian launch. However, a new finding has revealed the Mi Note 10 Lite will be coming to India but under the name Mi 10i.

Evidence of this was found in a bit of code, part of which is shown in the image below. As you can see, the Mi Note 10 Lite with its 64MP quad-camera setup is codenamed “toco”. Right below it is another phone with a 64MP quad-camera setup too, the codename “tocoin”, and the product name “Mi 10i”.

One can deduce that “tocoin” is short for “toco india” which means an Indian version of the Mi Note 10 Lite but that will be launching as the Mi 10i.

The source of the info, @_the_tech_guy, didn’t say when the device will launch but we expect it will be announced this quarter. Those who live in India and who have set their eyes on the Mi Note 10 Lite will surely be excited at the news.

EDITOR’S PICK: Here’s why Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is not called Mi 10 Pro Plus

The Mi Note 10 Lite launched in Europe for €349 (~INR 30,845) for the 64GB model and €399 (~INR 35,264) for the 128GB version. That sure is pricey considering there are more powerful devices selling for less in India right now. For example, the 6GB+64GB OnePlus Nord launching next month is priced at INR 24,999. The 12GB + 256GB version is even INR 29,999 which is still cheaper than the base model of the Mi Note 10 Lite. We are curious to see how the Mi 10i will be priced in India.

The Mi Note 10 Lite has a 6.47-inch curved AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. It is covered with Gorilla Glass 5, has a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio, TUV Rehiland low blue-light certification, and supports HDR10. There us a Snapdragon 730G processor under the hood with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage.

The quad-camera setup includes a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera inside the notch is a 16MP sensor. The device can record in 4K and also supports 960fps slow-motion recording. Other features are NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, and audio jack, and a 5260mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

As far MI Note 10 Lite is concerned, China won’t be receiving it.

In the below shown screengrab, Zang Zhiyuan who is the General Manager of Xiaomi’s Marketing Department in China can be seen talking to Mi fans. He confirmed that the company will not be launching the Mi Note 10 Lite in the home market.

It revealed that the company is planning to Mi CC10 and Mi CC10 Pro. When Zhiyuan was asked whether the Mi Note 10 Lite will be arriving in China as Mi CC10, he refuted the claim.

This is in line with Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun’s statement from November last year. He had said that all Xiaomi phones for China above 2,000 Yuan (~$283) pricing will come with support for 5G connectivity. The MI Note 10 Lite that debuted in Europe yesterday is a 4G phone that is priced at 349 euros (~$382).

Finally, Xiaomi ditches the Aurora Green color for a new and pretty cool Nebula Purple. You still get Glacier White and Midnight Black colorways.

The launch poster revealed that the company will be announcing the Redmi Note 9 series for the European markets. In the same week, reliable tipster Roland Quandt had claimed that the Chinese firm will be also announcing the rumored Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite alongside the Note 9 series. However, there was no official confirmation from Xiaomi on it. The Mi Community now has a listing on Mi Community that reveals that the Mi Note 10 Lite will indeed go official on April 30.

The new thread at Mi Community carries the below shown poster that reveals the Mi Note 10 Lite smartphone. The marketing image reveals that the handset will be available in colors like purple, white and black.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite specifications

Rumors surrounding the Mi Note 10 Lite smartphone has revealed that it will be borrowing many of its specs from the Xiaomi MI Note 10v. However, instead of the 108-megapixel penta-lens setup, the Lite edition will have a 64-megapixel penta-lens system.

The Mi Note 10 Lite is expected to arrive with 6.47-inch full HD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 730G processor, 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Its rear camera setup will have a 64-megapixel main shooter, a pair of 8-mgeapixe lenses, a 5-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel shooter. Today, another leaker has revealed three new smartphones that will soon be announced.

According to Roland Quandt (@rquandt), Xiaomi will be announcing the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Redmi Note 9, and the Mi 10 Lite in Europe soon.

Redmi Note 9 Pro

Redmi Note 9 Pro

The Redmi Note 9 Pro already launched in India in the second week of March and a few weeks later, it made its way to Thailand as the Redmi Note 9S. Xiaomi also made it available for other countries via AliExpress.

While it sure is surprising why the Redmi Note 9 Pro is getting launched in Europe since there is the Redmi Note 9S, we should not forget that Xiaomi (read Redmi) never actually launched the Redmi Note 9S in Europe. The launch in Europe should make it easier for folks in this region to easily get their hands on a unit.

We do not expect the European variant to differ greatly, if at all, from the model in India but expect minor differences such as LTE bands and GPS.

Roland Quandt said the phone will have 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage and will come in white, gray, and green.

Redmi Note 9

The Redmi Note 9 is yet to make its debut in any market. The phone was recently spotted on TENAA’s database sporting a smaller display than the Pro model. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a punch-hole at the top left corner, and quad rear cameras.

Redmi Note 9 according to images posted on TENAA

There is no confirmation of the processor inside the phone but there are reports it may be MediaTek’s Helio G80 chipset. Time will tell if this is true or if Redmi is sticking to the Snapdragon 665 processor of the Redmi Note 8.

The Redmi Note 9 will land in Europe with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It will be available in white, gray, and green.

The existence of the Mi Note 10 Lite was first reported last month. The phone is a less powerful version of the Mi Note 10 and mi Note 10 Pro announced late last year.

The Mi Note 10 Lite will make its way to Europe with a 6.47-inch display like its siblings but a slightly-less powerful Snapdragon 730 processor, a 64MP quad-camera setup on the back rather than the 108MP penta-camera setup of the standard and pro models. It will have the same 5260mAh battery and support for 30W fast wired charging.

Xiaomi will launch the phone with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and it will be available in white, black, and purple.

There is no specific date for the launch of these phones but do not expect a fanfare as the pandemic has forced manufacturers to announce new products online. Nevertheless, once they are official, we will let you know.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite

Apart from NBTC certification, the M2002F4LG Mi Note 10 Lite phone has also acquired FCC approval in the U.S. The handset is expected to house a 6.47-inch full HD+ display with in-screen fingerprint reader. It is rumored to be powered by the same Snapdragon 730G which fuels the Mi Note 10 smartphone. It is expected to house a 5,260mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.

The Mi Note 10 Lite is expected to house a 16-megapixel front camera. The rear shell of the phone will have a penta-lens setup that will include a 64-megapixel man lens. The latter will be coupled with a pair of 8-megapixel lenses, a 5-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel lens.

Upcoming POCO phones

Earlier this week, well-known Indian tipster Mukul Sharma had claimed that the upcoming M2004J11G phone was spotted POCO F2 moniker in the IMEI database. Corroborating on the same info, the Chinese tipster claimed that POCO F2 is the Redmi K30 Pro for global markets. Unlike the Redmi K30 Pro for China that supports 5G editions, its global variant will not have 5G support, adds the tipster.

Now, this device has also received NBTC certification in Thailand suggesting an imminent launch.

The NBTC listing of Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite reveals it to come with model number M2002F4LG.
The handset is expected to sport a 6.47-inch display but the type of the panel is a mystery for now. For optics, it will feature a quad-camera setting consisting of a 64MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP unit (probably ultra-wide), a 5MP shooter (could be macro), and a 2MP camera (most probably for depth sensing).

As for the battery, it is tipped to come with a 5,260 mAh cell with support for 30W fast charging. Last but not least, it will run Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top of it.

Xiaomi’s Mi Note 10 launched late last year as a premium mid-range phone with a focus on camera performance. The phone and its Pro version are the first in the world to have a 108MP sensor and the pro-model currently sits at the sixth spot on DXOMark’s list of phones with the best cameras. A new leak has revealed there will be a “Lite” version of the phone.

The specs of the Mi Note 10 Lite were posted on Twitter by Sudhanshu Ambhore last Friday but he wasn’t sure about the name of the device. Yesterday, he confirmed in a quoted tweet that the phone is indeed the Mi Note 10 Lite.

According to the original tweet, the phone has model number M2002F4LG. It will have a 6.47-inch display just like the Mi Note 10 but there is no mention of the type of display (AMOLED or LCD). We also don’t know if it will have a waterdrop notch or a punch-hole.

The Mi Note 10 Lite will swap the 108MP primary camera for a 64MP camera. It will also have an 8MP camera, a 5MP camera, and a 2MP camera for a quad-camera setup. The phone also replaces the 32MP selfie camera of the Mi Note 10 with a 16MP sensor.

With respect to the processor, the Mi Note 10 Lite will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 under the hood. The RAM and storage capacity wasn’t stated but there will be two versions.

The phone will pack a 5260mAh battery just like its siblings with support for 30W wired fast charging and will run Android 10 out of the box.

There is no info about a release date yet but more details should surface next month.
