First, the Redmi series became an independent brand and not a mid-range/budget-focused series. Since then, we have seen the brand release, not just premium midrange models but also budget and even flagship models.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Xiaomi-Mi-Max-3.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-203176" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Xiaomi-Mi-Max-3.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="700" height="466" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Xiaomi-Mi-Max-3.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Xiaomi-Mi-Max-3-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a></p>
<p>Xiaomi&#8217;s CEO recently disclosed that the company&#8217;s smartphone lines are now the Xiaomi and Redmi lines. He equally hinted that the Xiaomi brand is devoted to new technology, high-end phones, with a focus on new retail markets. He then reeled out the phones under the product line for this year. Among them are the Xiaomi digital series, Mi 9, Mi 9SE, Xiaomi Mix series and the new Xiaomi CC series. Of particular interest is the disclosure that the company has no plans for a new Max and Note phones this year. While he didn&#8217;t categorically say the company has discontinued the two series, but that could be what the news is pointing at.</p>

<p>The Mi Max 3 was launched last year so it is difficult to say if the company will not bring an update next year. On the other hand, the Mi Note 3 which was launched in 2017, is the last Note model from Xiaomi. The Mi Note series was first launched in 2015 and as at then, Xiaomi was looking at the possibility of the industry developing towards the use of curved OLED screens.  Full-screen design stole the show instead and curved screens are not in any way trendy any more.</p>

Through the official Weibo account of Xiaomi, the company has now confirmed that it will be announcing something tomorrow morning. Hence, it is very likely that the Mi MIX 3 launch date could be revealed tomorrow.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/08/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-mi-note-4-launch-date-could-be-confirmed-tomorrow/xiaomi-mi-mix-3-launch-hint/" rel="attachment wp-att-215600"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-215600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Xiaomi-Mi-MIX-3-launch-hint.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 launch hint" width="600" height="1066" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Xiaomi-Mi-MIX-3-launch-hint.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Xiaomi-Mi-MIX-3-launch-hint-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Xiaomi-Mi-MIX-3-launch-hint-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The official image of the Mi MIX 3 has revealed that it will be sporting a manual slider design. A newer report that had surfaced earlier today had revealed that it will be sporting slimmer bezels around the display.</p>
<p>All the predecessor Mi MIX series smartphones have featured front-facing camera on their bottom bezel. However, rumors have claimed that the selfie camera, 3D structured light module and other sensors of the smartphone will be placed on its slider. Hence, the new design of the Mi MIX 3 will allow the handset to sport nearly 100 percent screen-to-body.</p>

<p>There is no information available on the specifications of the Mi MIX 3. However, it is very likely to feature Snapdragon 845. The handset is also rumored to arrive with an in-screen fingerprint reader.</p>
<p>A leaked poster that had surfaced during the weekend had claimed that the Xiaomi will be holding an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/10/06/xiaomi-lex-to-launch-as-mi-note4-alongside-mi-mix-3-on-october-15/">unveil event on Oct. 15</a>. Through the event, the Chinese manufacturer is expected to announce the Mi MIX 3 smartphone as well as Mi Note 4. The latter is rumored to be<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/09/28/xiaomi-lex-and-xiaomi-mi-mix-3-dedicated-xiao-ai-button/"> codenamed as Xiaomi LEX</a>. Both the phones are rumored to feature a dedicated button for accessing Xiao AI assistant.</p>
<p>Xiaomi has recently launched the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-pro">Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-8-lite">Mi 8 Lite</a> smartphone in color gradient options. It is likely that the upcoming Mi MIX 3 and Mi Note 4 may also arrive in color gradient editions.</p>

It reveals that the unreleased Mi Note 5 has been mentioned among other phones that may launch in Europe. Moreover, a leaked image showing the key specs and pricing to the Mi Note 5 has also appeared. Could it be launching through the upcoming May 31 Shenzhen event by Xiaomi?</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-193217 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Xiaomi-Mi-Note-5-Mi-A2-Eurasian-Economic-Commission-e1527404792453.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="768" height="458" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Xiaomi-Mi-Note-5-Mi-A2-Eurasian-Economic-Commission-e1527404792453.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Xiaomi-Mi-Note-5-Mi-A2-Eurasian-Economic-Commission-e1527404792453-300x179.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></p>
<p>Shown above is the listing of Mi Note 5 among other phones like Mi 6X, Mi MIX 2s, Black Shark gaming phone, Mi A2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Xiaomi Mi A2 is also unreleased phone that is expected to debut as a successor of Mi A1 Android One phone. It is likely to rebranded version of the Mi 6X phone that was launched in China in April this year. The Mi A2 is unlikely to feature MIUI skin as it could be an Android One smartphone.</p>
<p>A leaked image of the promo material that has surfaced today reveals the key specifications of an upcoming Mi Note smartphone. It states that the handset houses a 5.99-inch display. Since it sports a Full Screen 2.0 design, it may feature super-slim bezels around the screen. The Snapdragon 835 SoC is present under the hood of the phone along with 6 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 64 GB. It also features 4-axis optical image stabilization. Like the Mi Note 3, the smartphone is likely to come equipped with dual camera setup. It could be a global device as the promo image reveals it supports 43 LTE bands.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-193218" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Xiaomi-Mi-Note-5-Key-Specs-and-Pricing.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="482" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Xiaomi-Mi-Note-5-Key-Specs-and-Pricing.jpg 482w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Xiaomi-Mi-Note-5-Key-Specs-and-Pricing-188x300.jpg 188w" sizes="(max-width: 482px) 100vw, 482px" /></p>

<p>Ideally, the company should be releasing the Mi Note 4 as a successor of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-note-3">Mi Note 3</a> phone from last year. It appears that the company will be skipping the Mi Note 4 moniker because even the EEC listing reveals Mi Note 5 name. As far as pricing is concerned, the Mi Note 5 featuring 64 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM will carry a price tag of 2,299 Yuan (~$359) in China.</p>
<p>Through the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/22/xiaomi-announces-shenzhen-event-mi-8-launch/">May 31 Shenzhen event</a>, Xiaomi will be unleashing the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/23/miui-10-launching-on-may-31-xiaomi-mi-8-likely-to-come-preinstalled-with/">Xiaomi Mi 8 smartphone and MIUI 10</a>. However, recent reports have claimed that the event will be used to announce a variety of new products such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/25/xiaomi-mi-8-mi-8-se-likely-to-debut-next-week-storage-and-color-variants-leaked/">Xiaomi Mi 8 SE</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/05/25/xiaomi-mi-8-launch-poster-examined-hints-arrival-of-3-smartphones-surge-s2-and-mi-band-3/">Mi Band 3 fitness trackerand Surge S2</a>.
