Xiaomi is one of the few smartphone OEMs known for selling laptops. All the notebooks sold by the company run Microsoft Windows 10. As the Redmond-based software giant is now set to release Windows 11 this holiday season, Xiaomi has officially revealed the list of eligible Mi Notebooks and RedmiBooks that will be updated to the latest version of Windows.

Microsoft unveiled Windows 11 at the end of June. The company started rolling out Insider builds a few days after that. Since then, the firm has been polishing the upcoming version of its operating system before its official release later this year.

Ahead of the Windows 11 stable rollout, Xiaomi has disclosed the list of its laptops, which will be getting the update. Below-listed are the Mi Notebooks and RedmiBooks that will be receiving Windows 11.

The Windows 11 rollout for the above-listed laptops is said to start at the end of 2021 and last until 2021. Also, it is worth noting that this list is only applicable for the notebooks sold in China. Xiaomi is yet to reveal a similar list for international markets.

Xiaomi is running a special sales promotion tomorrow 16th of August. The sales promo will be on its official online store Mi.com and will see phones, TVs, computers and lots more get up to ¥400 (~$58) off. Below are some of the products that will be on sale.

The 6GB + 64GB Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S which sells for ¥3299 (~$478) will be sold for ¥2899 (~$420) while the 6GB + 128GB version priced at ¥3599 (~$520) will sell for ¥3199 (~$463). Both phones are already available for purchase at the new price, so you can go right ahead to order.

The older Mi MIX 2 has also gotten a price slash. The special edition with a full ceramic body with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is available for ¥2799 (~$405). Its original launch price was ¥4699 (~$680). It is obvious Xiaomi is clearing its stock.

The Redmi Note 5 will also be discounted by up to ¥200 (~$29) depending on the variant you purchase. The Mi Max 3 has not received a price slash but all purchases will be shipped along with a Mi Band 2. The Mi Max 2 is still available for purchase as the 4GB + 64GB version is on sale for ¥1199 (~$174).

If you are on the search for a new laptop, the 12.5” Mi Notebook Air with 4GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage is down to ¥3499 and ¥3899 respectively. That’s a ¥100 (~$15) discount. For a more significant discount, you may want to look at the 13.3” Mi Notebook Air which has a Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and an MX150 graphics card. Its new price is ¥4999 (~$723) down from ¥5399 (~$782).

Need a new TV? The Mi TV 4A 65” model which is originally sold for ¥4499 (~$651) has been slashed to ¥3699 (~$535). The more affordable Mi TV 4A Youth Edition is ¥1399 (~$202) from its original price of ¥1699 (~$246).

Xiaomi has announced an upgrade to the 12.5-inch version of its first laptop, the Mi Notebook Air. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5 was announced last year along with a bigger 13.3-inch version, both using different processors. While the 13.3-inch version packs an Intel Core i5 processor, the 12.5-inch version comes with an Intel core M3 (6th generation) processor.

Now, Xiaomi has given the Mi Notebook Air 12.5 a processor upgrade and this it announced via the official Mi Notebook Weibo account. The upgrade now sees the Notebook Air 12.5 featuring a seventh generation Intel Core M3 processor which brings a 12% improvement in performance over the previous generation. The 12.5-inch Mi Notebook also now comes in an additional 256GB storage version in addition to the initial one with 128GB storage. Both storage options still retain their ability to be expanded further.

The new Mi Notebook Air 12.5 retains the same configurations as the previous version. It sports same ultra-slim build just 12.9mm thick, all-metal body and weighed just 1.07kg. There is 4GB of RAM supporting the processor and the laptop is reputed as able to offer up to 11.5 hours of use.  It also comes with fast charge support.

The new Xiaomi M Notebook Air 12.5 would be up for registration on March 30 by 10 AM on Mi.com. The price has not been announced but the original version starts at 3,499 Yuan (~$507). Perhaps, this new version with its upgrades may start a little higher than that.

Xiaomi announced its first Notebook laptop – the Mi Notebook Air, around the middle of last year and the laptop received lots of positive reviews from fans and pundits alike. The company later added a 4G LTE version of the Mi Notebook Air recently, exclusive to China mobile but with the same design. There are indications that the innovative tech company is already working on a second generation Mi Notebook 2 model.

Reports emanating from Taiwan quotes IDC vice-president as saying that they Mi Notebook Air came out with a good momentum and that sales reached 110,000 units in the third quarter alone, representing 2% of the market share. That share figure was said to have increased to 4% by the fourth quarter. The identified the Mi Notebook Air’s core selling points as its cost-effectiveness, good quality and the influence of the brand name.

Mr Wang Jiping also hinted that the second generation Mi Notebook Air’s production will kick-off in April this year. The IDC vice-president is further credited to have stated that the next gen. Mi Notebook Air 2 will feature the same thin build as its predecessor. The body will be manufactured using higher lithium-magnesium alloy which would bring down the weight of the device to jjst a quarter of an aluminum alloy. The Notebook PC will be manufactured in a more cost effective manner than its predecessor, but it is uncertain if that would make it cheaper than the Mi Notebook Air.

Xiaomi, Friday afternoon, took the wraps off its latest version of the Mi Notebook Air which comes with 4G LTE network capability and some improvements on the specs. The new release was done in conjuncttion with Chinese telecommunication giant, China Mobile in a ceremony held in Beijing.

The Mi Notebook Air 12 and Mi Notebook Air 13 were announced to have gotten 4G enabled versions which do not require the use of SIM card as the connectivity is built-in and activated out-of-the-box. Since Xiaomi is aprtnering ith China Mobile who is offering the 4G connectivity, it is not clear whether the feature is networked locked to China mobile or is capable of being used on other carriers’ network as well.

Well, if you are wondering what the 4G SIM-less module looks like inside the Notebook PC, we just may have got the answer for you. The Mi Notebook Air has got the teardown treatment, coming straight from IT168.

Xiaomi did indicate on the box casing that this version has 4G LTE connectivity,, if not the box casing look similar to those of those of the first gen Mi Notebook Air. The laptop till retains its ultra-thin, super light weight design but comes studded with even more fire power on the 13.3-inch model which uses a more powerful Intel Core i7 processor. Up to 10% increase in performance is what this brings into the fray.

The teardown images speak for themselves, revealing the internals of the Mi Notebook Air. And by the way, Xiaomi still boast of the Mi Notebook Air having a lighter weight than the Macbook Pro and also coming in faster in 4G connectivity than the iPad Pro with 4G connectivity onboard.

Another thing, the Mi Notebook Air 4G version also pack powerful built-in battery like it predecessors. And from the look of thing, the 4G option will only be available on China Mobile network meaning its not likely to ship internationally soon except Xiaomi decides to unlock it and make it available to her fans abroad in the near future.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G version does not come cheap, though, it starts at 4699 yuan for the 12.5-inch model while the 13.3-inch moodel come in at 6999 yuan.

Xiaomi has today launched the 4G enabled version of its first notebook PC, the Mi Notebook Air and it is released in conjunction with telecoms giant China Mobile. The Xiaomi Mi notebook Air was first launched in August this year in China and it came as a real challenger for the Apple iPad Air with a sleek design and equally stunning hardware bench.

Xiaomi did retain the sleek design on this new version with the major difference being that this new version comes with 4G LTE capability and there is also a new processor on the 13.3-inch version. The Mi Notebook Air still doesn’t feature the Mi logo on this version. Xiaomi also used the conference to announce that the original Mi Notebook Air has recorded a huge sales figure of 220,000 units in just three months.

Hardware & Specification

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G version also retains the two variation in sizes that Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Notebook Air with. One of the versions feature a 13.3-inch size and pack the new Intel Core i7 processor inside, while the second version is 12.5 inches in size. Both versions come with built-in China Mobile 4G capability without the need for a SIM card. This ensures the laptop is capable of delivering high-speed internet from anywhere within China where there is China Mobile network. China Mobile is also offering buyer free 48GB of internet data for one year.

The 12.5-inch Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 4G version has a thin all-metal body and aside the support for 4G network that it brings to the table, the version also packs a strong, long lasting battery touted to last up to 11.5 hours. The version is also equipped with an Intel Core M3 processor and equally has onboard, 4GB RAM as well as 128GB SATAT SSD hard drive which can be expanded. All other cool features like built-in custom AKG speakers, Dolby surround sound support etc are also featured.

On the other hand, the 13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air 4G version comes with a more powerful Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 3.0GHz which is an upgrade from the initial version and is said to bring up to 10% improvement in performance. The processor is backed by a massive 8GB DDR4 memory and the laptop also features a 256GB PCIe SSD hard drive which can be expanded as well. On its part, the 13.3-inch version can last up to 9.5 hours of steady usage. It also pack custom AKG speakers.

As stated earlier, buyers of the 4G-enabled Mi Notebook Air versions get up to 48GB of data free of charge yearly worth 1560 yuan and this is broken down as 4GB free data each month. Remember this is 4G connectivity so you are not likely to grow grey hair while waiting for webpages to load or for downloads to be completed. Xiaomi also touts that the 4G enabled Mi Notebook Air versions go as high up to 80Mbps in download speed. This is said to be faster than the 4G version of Apple’s iPad Pro. Combine the notebook’s processing prowess with the high-speed, wide coverage and wider bandwidth of China Mobile’s network, you get a blazing fast download speed. Using the built-in 4G network also brings in an extra level of cyber security that public Wi-Fi can’t offer and you don’t need to buy a SIM card to use, it is all pre-installed inside the Notebook.

In addition, the Mi Notebook Air can be used to run Photoshop, CAD and other professional softwares. The Notebook also responds well to extreme gaming, including 3D games. Both versions comes with built-in NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphic card which supports DirectX 12, CUDA, PhysX and Boost 2.0 game effects and has up to 1GB GDDR5 new memory standard.

Pricing

As for the prices, the 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air 4G version carries a price tag of 4,699 yuan ($676), while the bigger and more powerful 13.3-inch Notebook Air 4G version starts a 6,999 yuan ($1007).

Xiaomi entered into the personal computer market this year with its Mi Notebook Air. Available in two sizes: a 12.5-inch model and a 13-inch model, which also sport different internals; the Mi Notebook Air has been praised for its design and build quality. Although we can’t ignore how it shares similarities to Apple’s MacBook Air, something Xiaomi is not even ashamed of hiding as it is evident in even the naming.

You might have thought we wouldn’t be hearing of a new Mi Notebook Air not until next year, but Xiaomi thinks differently as they have a new model launching in Beijing on Friday, 23rd of December.

The invitation to the event shows the right side of a computer similar to the Mi Notebook Air, however this one seems to have a 4G module as there is a 4G network signal in the lower right corner of the screen. The invitation also has Xiaomi’s logo and China Mobile’s logo on it. Sources say there is a chance this is just a 4G version of the original Mi Notebook Air and nothing more. We however don’t want to rule out the fact that it might feature some additional changes.

The Mi Notebook is currently priced at ¥3499 ($525) for the 12.5-inch model and ¥4999 ($750) for the 13-inch model. A 4G model is sure to raise the price unless Xiaomi slashes the price of the non-4G models and keeps the 4G models at the original price.

Today was Xiaomi’s first flash sale for the 12.5” Mi Notebook Air and it was a success as the PC sold out in a short time. The company however had a surprise for buyers by offering free custom laser engraving in a total of 19 service centres.

Xiaomi first offered free engraving services back in 2014 at their Beijing service centre. Now, with 19 stores offering the service, it should be easier to get your device engraved. Right now, the company is providing text engraving only, which is sad, as I was already looking forward to seeing a batman logo on a Mi Notebook Air. Anyway, there’s more than enough space for your text since the front of the laptop is bare.

The 12.5” Mi Notebook Air features 4GB of RAM, a 128GB SSD, an Intel-Core M3 processor, and offers up to 11 hours of battery life. It is also light and thin, weighing just 1.07 kg and having a thickness of 12.9mm. However, it doesn’t feature an NVIDIA graphics card like its bigger sibling and has only one USB 3.0 port.

The 12.5” Mi Notebook Air sells for 3499 Yuan ($527).

Xiaomi recently announced two new laptops in the Mi Notebook Air lineup. Both are super thin laptops, weighs just over 1 kg and comes with Windows 10 OS on board. This is the company’s first laptop series in the market and while Xiaomi has made sure that the two models looks elegant and compact, it decided that the front of the laptop should be logo-less. The only major area where we see Xiaomi’s branding on this laptop is just below the screen, where there is the “Mi” logo.

This is a bold move by the company, since most laptop companies like to leave their branding on their laptops, especially on top, to distinguish it from competitors. 

Well, you can customize the looks of the laptop however you want, and the logo less design on the front actually makes things easier to redesign. But I was wondering what you feel about this logo less design?

A couple of days back, Xiaomi announced not one but two new laptops in its Mi Notebook Air family. They come in two sizes, namely 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch. Naturally, being the first Xiaomi laptop in the market, everybody is interested to see the new device in real life. While we have not yet received a model for review, here are a few images of the Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch in action.

To recap, the Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch comes in an all metal design with silver and gold color options, no logo on top and a lightweight 1.28 kg body. Specs wise, the laptop comes with a 13.3 inches 1080p display with anti-glare coating, Intel Core i5 6200U processor, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX 1GB DDR5, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 265GB SSD ( which is further expandable), dual speakers from AKG,  and Windows 10 home edition. Further, the screen covers 80.1% of the front, which makes it look amazing.

As for the pricing, this particular version costs 4999 Yuan in China, which comes to around $750.

It is official. Xiaomi is now a PC maker and for their first outing, they have not done badly at all.  There are already real life images of the Mi Notebook Air online and we have some we want to examine as well.

Xiaomi announced two versions of the Mi Notebook Air today, the 12.5” version and the 13.3” version. The first image shows them side by side in their all-metal glory with the difference in size clearly visible.

Surprisingly, none of the notebooks has a Xiaomi logo on the back of the screen. So if you are going to purchase one of these laptops be prepared to answer the question of who made this PC multiple times. There is however a small Mi logo below the screen when you flip it open so that might ease things a bit.

The notebook features a HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port and a 3.5mm jack on the left side. The right hand side has an extra USB 3.0 port beside the USB Type-C charging port and charging LED indicator.

If you look closely,you will notice the power button has been included as part of the keyboard just above the backspace key. Macbook Pro owners will sure recognise this.

There are also images of the PCs sporting vinyl stickers (if you are into that sort of thing). The idea is to make your PC stand out from the crowd. We do not know if Xiaomi will be selling their own official stickers or they will be offering it for free with each purchase but we are sure there will be a variety of stickers from other manufacturers in case you don’t like the ones the company is offering.

It’s been more than a year since we first reported about a possible Xiaomi Notebook. At that time, it seemed impossible that a startup company could extend its reach to the laptop market. But nearly 1.5 years later, the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (known as Xiaomi MiBook Air in China) is official and it’s just as good as we all imagined.

The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air will come in two versions, and just as we reported earlier, the smaller one will feature a 12.5-inch display while the larger model comes with a 13.3-inch display. Both are covered with 7H hard glass. We had repeatedly said that the Xiaomi Notebook will directly rival the premium Apple Macbook range and guess what, during the reveal today, the company made sure it highlighted the fact that the new Xiaomi Notebook is going to best the Macbook in terms of design.

Well, first of all, the Xiaomi Notebook is not its official name. The two laptop versions are called the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch and the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch. So, from now onwards, we will be using this official name for mentioning these two models. Note that both are running on Windows 10 OS.

UPDATE: Seems like internationally, Xiaomi is calling this the Mi Notebook Air. So, if you hear either the Mibook Air or Mi Notebook Air, both mean the same thing.

Xiaomi MiBook Air 12.5-inch

Ok, let’s start with the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch. This will be the thinnest Xiaomi laptop in the range and beats the Macbook Air in terms of its thickness as well as weight. The new laptop is just 12.9mm thick at its thickest point and all metal body weighs just 1.07 grams. The company has repeatedly said that the form factor is just like a magazine — thin and compact enough to get into your everyday bag.

Inside, this particular model comes with the Core M3 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. And guess what, you can expand the storage in this model. It comes with USB 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C for connectivity ports.

What’s more, Xiaomi has made sure that in this super thin body, there’s a large battery. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air reportedly features an amazing battery life of 11.5 hours. That’s nearly the same life that you get from Apple’s Macbook Air! While the battery life would differ according to your usage, it is easily enough to work for almost an entire day. Other features of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5-inch are AKG custom speakers, and DU surround sound.

This particular model is priced at 3499 Yuan ($525) and will go on sale on August 2.

Xiaomi Mi NoteBook Air 13.3-inch

The second model in the company’s laptop range is the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3-inch. This particular model is targeted at those who want something larger and much more powerful than the 12.5-inch version. And the company has made sure that the specs inside this device are good enough for your gaming needs! Well, I am sure, there is at least one reader on our blog who would be happy to see that this beast comes with the NVIDIA GTX 940MX 1GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics card on board. There will be the sixth generation Core-i5 processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.7GHz, 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, 256GB PCI-e SSD with the possibility of further storage expansion.

Coming to the screen, the Xiaomi Mibook Air 13.3-inch comes with a 1080p anti-glare display. The screen accounts for 80.1%, better than the Macbook. It’s slightly thicker than the 12.5-inch model with a thickness of 14.8mm at the thickest part. Plus, it weighs just 1.28 kgs.

This model boasts of 9.5 hours of battery life on a single charge, and with the provided fast charger, you can get up to 50% of charge in around half an hour. You get USB Type-C, USB 3.0, HDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack for connectivity ports. Other features include AKG Custom dual speakers and Dolby surround sound support.

It’s definitely one of the best laptops in the market right now, especially because you can get it for just 4999 Yuan ($750).
