Earlier today (22nd March 2021), Xiaomi officially teased its new and upcoming Mi Notebook Pro. In the latest teaser, the company teased that the laptop will feature a high resolution display. Although, the high resolution is only one of its high end specifications.

Earlier this month, the Chinese tech giant shared the first teaser, in which it shared three images. These images offered a first glimpse of the new Mi Notebook Pro 2021’s design along with its retail box. Now, the consumer electronics maker shared a new teaser, which reveals that the laptop will sport a high resolution screen. As per a previous social media post from a company executive, the new Mi Notebook Pro will be a high end device.

According to ITHome report, the laptop was apparently spotted on Geekbench, with a model of TIMI TM2021. This notebook featured an Intel Core i7-11370H processor and the yet to be released NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. This device is expected to be the Mi Notebook Pro 2021. Although, this is still an unconfirmed benchmark listing, so take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Unfortunately, finer details regarding the laptop is still unknown. Furthermore, if the notebook does feature the RTX 3050 Ti, it would likely be released after NVIDIA officially announces the GPU. So, stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information is available.

In late February, at the Redmi K40 series launch event, Redmi announced its first Pro series laptops called RedmiBook Pro 14 and RedmiBook Pro 15. We even reviewed the former model last week on our YouTube channel. Now, the brand’s parent company Xiaomi teases its 2021 Pro laptop.

The official Mi Notebook Weibo account has shared three teaser posters along with some texts. These images give us the first glimpse of the upcoming Mi Notebook Pro 2021’s design as well as its retail box. 

While posting the first teaser poster, which shows the laptop’s lid with Xiaomi branding, the company said that it has been 1,282 days since the first-ever Mi Notebook Pro laptop was released on September 11, 2017.

Further, while sharing the second poster that includes the forthcoming laptop’s minimal retail box in white color, the brand revealed that this new high-end Mi Notebook will be new inside-out and will be amazing.

Lastly, the third teaser poster confirms that the Mi Notebook Pro 2021 will be slim and the company even asked the public to guess its thickness. However, despite being thin, the laptop will still feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port on the left side. 

Unfortunately, we don’t get to see the right side in this picture, which we believe will include more ports. That said, we expect Xiaomi to tease more specs of this laptop before its official launch in the near future.

The Mi Notebook Pro series got a new model back in June. The computer which launched as the Mi Notebook Pro 15 2020 arrived with an Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake processor under its hood. Now, Geekbench results of a new model have shown up and it comes in Intel’s 11th Gen CPUs and AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600H CPU variants.

Mi Notebook Pro 2021 Intel

The new notebook was benchmarked yesterday as “TIMI Laptop”. The first variant has an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11370H processor with 4 cores, 8 threads, and a 12MB L3 cache. Its base frequency is clocked at 3.30GHz and its maximum frequency is 4.78GHz. Running Windows 10, the notebook scores 1572 points in the single-core test and 5065 points in the multi-core test.

The second notebook has Intel’s 11th Gen Core i5-11300H processor. Its single-core score is 1436 points while its multi-core score is 4912 points. The base frequency for the notebook is 3.11GHz while the maximum frequency is 4.38GHz and its L3 cache is smaller at 8MB. Both models have 16GB of RAM.

Chinese tech blog, ITHome, reports that these processors should have a TDP of 35W. They have also stated that the new Mi Notebook computer is expected to arrive early next year.

Mi Notebook Pro 2021 AMD

Alongside these Intel models, there will also be an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H version with 6 cores and 12 threads. The base frequency is 3.30GHz while the maximum frequency is 4.24GHz. It will also have 16GB of RAM while its L3 cache is 16MB.

We expect the new models to have thinner bezels, a full-size backlit keyboard, SSD storage, and possibly, NVIDIA GPUs. We hope Xiaomi keeps the price tag of the Intel models under $1000 when it launches. The AMD version should cost more and may be announced at a later date.
