Xiaomi may announce a new Bluetooth speaker soon according to a recent listing on the Bluetooth SIG website. The listing says the speaker will launch as the Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker.

From the name, it is obvious this is a speaker that can be used outdoors so it should have an IP rating and be at least splash proof. It may also have a rugged design.

The speaker was listed on the database on July 5, 2019, and the certification says it has Bluetooth 5.0. We don’t think Xiaomi has released any Mi-branded speaker with Bluetooth 5.0, so this might as well be the first.

Xiaomi has a bunch of speakers with varying designs. Some are released under its own Mi brand while others are by the smaller companies under its ecosystem. It even sells Sony, Marshall, and Sonos speakers On its Youpin online store.
